SF
Last week my wife and I spent 3 days in Vegas. While there I only wore high heeled sandals. I brought three pairs of shoes (two pair of thongs and one pair of slides) with heels from 2 to 3 inches. Only once did anyone seem to notice or care. While walking from one casino to another, we passed a couple in their 30's and I heard the male say, "we must be in Vegas." I assume he was refering to my shoes but I am not really sure. Bottom line, I had no problems and it was FUN !!! Try it..... SF "Why should girls have all the fun!!"
radiodave
Cool! Sounds like a fun time. Vegas is one of the few places where you see women wearing shoes that in other places you would only see in a strip club. Any pics?
bootopia
My wife and I spent the weekend in Vegas about three months ago. I spent most of the time in boots with 3 1/2 inch heels (same ones as in my avatar) and women's skinny jeans. I got quite a few stares, and overheard one guy say "I need to get some shoes like that". While I was waiting for my wife outside the bathroom, one of the casino waitresses looked at my boots, gave me a big smile, and asked if I'd like a cocktail. When I said no thanks, she said "I really like your boots" before walking away. Vegas is a great place to go heeling without the usual inhibitions, and I'm looking forward to going back. CassieJ
I will be going to Vegas for the first week of January with my wife. I can't decide which shoes to take with me. I plan to spend the entire week in heels. My wife wants me to push the envelope farther than I do here at home. She wants me to wear my 5" black patent Betsy Johnson spikes with ankle strap and pink soles. She wouldn't mind if I wore a skirt or my kilt too. Well, get ready for some major inspecton (both overt and covert), Should be interesting. Please let us know of your adventures when you return and able to post your comments. More power to ;you! Thighmax
The only time I have worn high heels outside was in Las Vegas. I spent 5 days in Vegas last year with my wife and only managed to have the nerve one time. I wore a pair of 4 inch gold pair of boots. We had our picture taken from a woman that said that we made a perfect couple but she didn't say a thing. I did notice some people that saw the boots but I didn't receive any comments. I am looking forward to making the trip again and having a little bit more courage. I really encourage people to do it, Vegas is a great place for heeling. CassieJ
I don't think that I will wear the skirt but the heels, we will see. I usually wear them with long boot-cut jeans that cover almost all the heel. It will be cold in January so I doubt a skirt (ones I have are not long) would work. iloveboots
Definitely have to agree with all the previous comments, Vegas is probably the best spot in North America for freestyling in heels. Other great cities are San Francisco and New Orleans. Have also found the Santa Monica area north Of LA great and we have no problems around Vancouver, Toronto or Montreal. heellovr79
Sounds like something I would want to do when I go to Vegas. Wear a pair of open toe plats with my jeans and nobody would seem to mind. Black patent, open toed high heels are the best!

SF
Sub Topic: Vegas again….. Last week the wife and I took a quick trip to Las Vegas and Laughlin, Nevada…. I took several pairs of heels (sandals and pumps) and wore them most all the time. I was in the casinos, the mall on the strip, the outlets and elsewhere. The weather was nice for sandals in the day and pumps at night. No one made any comments, but I did get a few looks and smiles - from both guys and gals. Had a nice time, and the ability to wear heels openly was an added pleasure!!! Take care all, Merry Christmas!!! sf "Why should girls have all the fun!!" They look great and I could wear those anywhere. Are they new? Brand and style? Glad you had a nice time in Nevada and got some public heeling in. Too cold for sandals in Ohio now, sorry to say. HappyinHeels
SF, Las Vegas is a good place for wearing whatever you want. It is in business for one reason: separate you from your money. They do it by cloaking the whole experience in admittedly good-quality entertainment, large selections of food, a compensation system which can be redeemed either immediately or on some future visit, and just the overall presentation that the city's infrastructure is there to serve you----the gambler. It is a good place to watch people or be seen. LV is definitely the place to push the envelope and wear things you haven't elsewhere but this is because it is a place with few inhibitions....as long as you spending money there. You are important to the hotel, the casino, and the restaurant as long as you are spending money and playing by their rules. As long as you understand this simple rule then you can pretty much do what you want and dress as you like. SF-If you are going to LV, and your wife is encouraging you to wear even higher heels, I'd ask what in the world is holding you back? If you opt not to wear a skirt you could challenge yourself and wear some sandals-say some high wedges with heels 5" or higher and simply try them with skinny jeans, dress pants, or capris. Even in January LV is bound to be OK for wearing open-toed sandals. Show 'em your toes and your heels in LV!! HappyinHeels
Dr. Shoe
Actually all this is an illusion. Yes, Vegas is the entertainment capital of the world but the idea that it is the only place to wear what you like is the illusion, which I doubt the city fathers would move to dispel. I'm betting you could wear your heels outside your own front door with exactly the same reaction as you'd get in Vegas. When I tell people this they say "you don't know my neighbours/village/city!". What I'm saying is, neither do you. Many years ago I met a guy who complimented me on my nerve to wear 1.5" heeled cowboy boots. He then confided that he had a pair too but he didn't have the nerve to wear them, even though they were men's boots! The point I'm making is the only thing stopping you is what's in your own head. I once knew a lawyer in the capital city close to where I live who was within her professional circle famous for her long hair, short skirts, and high heels. This was about 20 years ago, during the awful Grunge period, when you rarely saw ANY high heels on the street. This lawyer knew that I had a thing for her shoes, so the subject would often come up when we would chance to meet, which was rarely. To make the story shorter, I'll get right to the relevant part. She mentioned to me one time that she owns several pairs of shoes that she would never consider wearing in Iowa, those were for Vegas only. I always wondered about that. My imagination was not very good at that time, but I'll bet that now, 20 years later, whatever those Vegas shoes were would probably not be all that shocking, even on the streets of the Midwest (U.S.). The lawyer's trademark 4 inch heels, which, 20 years ago, seemed so shockingly high and daring to be worn in a professional setting, wouldn't even warrant a glance now. SF
Hey folks… When I wrote this post I did not mean to imply that Vegas is the only place that one can wear high heels comfortably. I have worn women's shoes since I was a teen, and a high heels since 1995. I wear my heels, mostly sandals - whenever possible, around my local area and afar. Most of the time folks don't care or notice but that doesn't mean that I wasn't nervous when I began heeling. I mentioned Vegas 'cause it is a place where, as others have commented, is a great place to be "different" without others noticing, caring or judging. Plus it is an "interesting" town, to say the least. I get to Vegas about 4-5 times a year, always wear heels and am STILL looking for another guy in heels (and that goes for my local area too - still looking)!! To conclude, if you enjoy wearing high heels, just get out and do it. If you can get to a city like Vegas, even better, you will enjoy yourself. Have fun… Take care… sf "Why should girls have all the fun!!"
wetwillie
While attending a wedding I noticed a woman wearing a very ornate pair of heels. I couldn't take my eyes off of them. Later, at the reception, I had to ask her about the shoes. She said they were Vegas showgirl heels she bought on Ebay.
Histiletto
What a timid lot most of us are! Each of us has an affinity of varied intents degrees for wearing high heels and when we are wearing them, we feel really good about how they accent our appearance so much so that we never want to take them off. However the idea that we could be known as high heel wearers around the people that supposedly love and care about us and our welfare tends to generate a fear so extreme that we actually try to hide who we are from them. Yet we are willing to let complete strangers think what they want as they perceive a guy wearing high heels. This kind of interaction has lead to the misunderstanding that most people have about this situation. If the world is ever going to accept guys in heels, it is going to have to start with those who know and love us. Even though they may not accept our declaration for wearing heels and refuse to be a part of such activities now, as more incidences or happenings of guys in heels are made common knowledge, their initial reaction to such information won't seem so characteristically alien and degrading. It hasn't been that long ago that gals weren't suppose to get tattooed, because it was looked upon as a manly extravagance. In some areas it is still looked upon as body deforming and character defaming. Yet, the number of females choosing to go under the needle seems to have increased to the point tattoo businesses are springing up everywhere. It is not that unusual to hear somewhat of a boast from a girl's latest venture into this body imprinting. Why do they do it? - because they can!Such an attitude use to be one of men's stereotypes of being strong and in control, but the idea of a male being caught wearing an outfit accented with high heels cowers most men back into compliance with the status quo of the day and continues to give credibility to the social attitude that choosing to wear heels wasn't meant for guys.To those guys who have been open about their high heeling to the people they have around them, know that you are doing it right. This may not have lead to wearing heels as often or as much as you want too, but the possibility of reaching that goal is a lot closer as other male heeling activities happen and become another proof that guys in heels is as natural as gals in jeans. Besides, it is a natural procedure as individuals to choose our own appearance by the taste we have.
SF
Hard to believe that I started this topic more than 10 (wow) years ago, how time flys. Spent the last two days in Vegas, a quick trip after returning from Arizona. Like 10 years before, I wore heeled sandals for almost the entire time, it was after all hot, in excess of 100 degrees outside. Played slots, dined, shopped and generally enjoyed my time there - all in heels. I wore the sandals in my avatar and another pair of slip on sandals with a kitten heel. Just like 10 years earlier, a few folks seemed to notice with brief glances, but no one seemed to really care. Next Vegas report in 10 years...... SF
The wife and I get out to Vegas 4 - 5 times a year. The only shoes I bring are heels and a pair of running shoes, gotta stay in shape ya know. Vegas is an interesting town. Folks from all over the world, casinos, clubs, shopping, museums, outdoor activities, you name it. And me in my heels. Interesting, with all the diversity there, I have never seen another guy in heels, or flats for that matter. I enjoy heeling in Vegas, and at home too, but it can be a lonely life - a risk I am willing to gladly accept..... Take care all.... sf "Why should girls have all the fun!!" HappyinHeels
JeffB, When the freestyle prince of Philadelphia lands in Las Vegas the city should be prepared to be awed. My wife and I stayed the night there in 2016 on our way to Mexicali and we just rolled through there on 30th April. It is a great place to wear what you want, watch other people, and be seen in general. You can find naughty clothes and shoes and attend top-quality entertainment wearing towering heels. LV is there to entertain people and separate you from your money. I don't gamble. If I did I would not have been able to retire four weeks ago at just 57. You can, however, enjoy being dressed and do other things like see the original downtown area, go shopping, or attend different shows around town. Hotel prices will drop in both LV and Phoenix as temperatures regularly surpass 100F/38C and even 110F/43C this summer. HappyinHeels
