Jeff, looking good! You inspired me to perhaps try again... I put on a simple grey skirt and peep toe wedges and went for a walk up the road.. I didnt give a shit what people thought, I think the fear must be confronted. I may do some outings again soon, but in the meantime am looking forward to your 200th jaunt... @Steve, sorry I was a bit of a b*tch to you earlier... I want to change my username as it doesn't reflect the true me...

@KiLty, No problem! I have a thick skin and wasn't at all miffed about what you said. All is forgiven. And I DID get your name right this time! Best, Steve

Jaunt #199, 9/14/2013:

I'm filing this trip under the joys of pleasant surprises. I have a 20 inch light denim pencil skirt I bought from Sears but hadn't worn in at least three years, perhaps longer, I'm not sure, out of curiosity, I tried it on, and even though I put on a few pounds since I last wore it, and it's a size 12 to boot (I usually wear 14), it still fit, and, like practically EVERY skirt I wear, it looked good on me, so I decided to wear it, pairing it with a black long sleeved mockneck as it was rather chilly along with the Payless "Karmen" pumps in black and a handbag. This was to be a short outing as I planned to get back in time to watch Johnny Football and Texas A & M face off against Alabama. The skirt was a treat to wear, especially since it was nice and snug, emphasized my rear end and had a nice little slit in back. Gotta go out in pencil skirts more often! They're fun! Oh, yeah, it was fun to wear the Karmen pumps too as they're quite comfortable while the 3 inch heels made that nice clicking sound I like so much.

My first stop was to a branch of my bank near downtown to deposit a check, hopping out of the car and feeding the meter, I walked right into the bank where there was a fair crowd, including a mother with three cute little girls, all of whom stared right at me, but they didn't say anything, nor did the adults for that matter. Ten minutes later, I was out the door, back in the car and headed into town to visit my favorite comic shop, having parked about a block away, I enjoyed a nice little walk, passing by numerous people, but no one said a thing, as usual. Admittedly, I often find that rather curious, that a middle aged man in a snug skirt and heels can garner no attention whatsoever, still, I make a not to never take that sort of thing for granted, and I appreciate being able to go out and about, dressed the way I like without garnering attention like everyone else on the street. I spent a good twenty minutes in the store, left and returned to my car, walking past more people who didn't give me the time of day.

From there, it was off to South Jersey and the Moorestown Mall area as I drove to Barnes & Noble, went in where I had a light lunch of a ham and cheese sandwich and a bottle of apple juice while I read the paper along with a couple of sci-fi magazines, just like everywhere else, no one made a fuss of how I was dressed, and that was pretty cool. After nearly an hour in the store, I bought a couple of magazines then left for home and that aforementioned football game I was eager to see. Another good trip for me, made all the more enjoyable by wearing a skirt and heels and expressing my fashion sense as a freestyler. Next up: my 200th jaunt----in a dress!

JeffB;

Your right, that outfit looked good (even on a middle aged guy :penitent:), in fact I think it is the best look you have presented to date.  I read it as well dressed casual.

Looking forward to jaunt #200.

Keep on keeping on.

Looking good Jeff. When the weather gets a bit cooler maybe something like a longline cardigan that falls to the widest part of your hips would be a flattering addition too. After an adventurous summer I'm looking forward to wearing my autumn/winter heels and outfits again, and looking forward to your 200th jaunt too, have a great time.

If you like it, wear it.

JeffB,

Like many others I've been following your jaunts. Lead on.

I just couldn't put my finger on what it was about your pictures that bothered me, but I finally got it. Dude, you need to smile. Look like you're enjoying it as much as I think you are. You're probably just thinking about the blinking self-timer, but your expression says "YOU GOT A PROBLEM WITH THAT?!?"

I don't doubt that on the street you come across much more pleasant. Try to add that to the photo. Smile. Flirt. Play it.

Can't wait to see 200 :fine: :fine: :fine:

JeffB,

You certainly looked good for #199.

I'm so glad that you can present yourself as a man, while wearing a skirt and heels. Kudos to you!

Keep up your posts and pics too. We all enjoy them very much.

Happy Heeling,

bluejay

TBG: Best outfit to date? Well now, considering everything I've worn before Jaunt #199, that's quite a bold statement!

Mr. X: Many thanks for kind words. I've come to find wearing jewelry fun, especially necklaces, and I plan to buy more.

SleekHeels: That's not a bad idea. I still haven't ruled wearing a long sweater, leggings and knee boots. I'm looking forward to that.

heels59: But I was smiling! Admittedly, I've never been too terribly good at that. You're right, I need to practice more.

bluejay: Well, I'm simply living up to my motto: I don't want to LOOK like a woman, I just want to DRESS like a woman!

I don't want to LOOK like a woman, I just want to DRESS like a woman!

I am with heels59 on this. I event tried to isolate your face with photoshop in order to decide if your smile is different from one picture to another. Result : I still can't decide ! For a while, I even was sure you were photoshoping the picture to replace your face with always the same one ! I finally decided to forget about that, that is your boat Jeff, whatever floats it...

Hey, if he doesn't want to smile, or not smile like others want him to, then that's his business! Look at the models walking the catwalk, they are wearing clothes to die for, and no one smiles. Most of them are in a daze, probably drinking too much booze and a lack of real food backstage.

Meh! It's no big deal really, no one on the street expects me to smile and I'm not going to worry about that either. Here's a theory worth considering: perhaps that semi-dour countenance I display keeps passersby at arm's length. HA!

I don't want to LOOK like a woman, I just want to DRESS like a woman!

That plus your size could be rather intimidating, don't you think?

Hmm! To be honest, I hadn't give that much thought, but you might be onto something. I'm 6-2 in my bare feet, and depending on what height heels I wear, I could be as tall as 6-7. Yeah, I'd say that might make me kinda intimidating.

I don't want to LOOK like a woman, I just want to DRESS like a woman!

JAUNT #200, 9/29/2013

As promised, for my 200th jaunt (hard to believe I've been at this for as long as I have), I hit the road in a dress for a fairly short, but enjoyable outing as the sports fan in me had to get back in time to file this report so I can sit down to watch my Eagles do battle with Peyton Manning and the Denver Broncos. The dress in question came from Sears and was a sleeveless chiffon dress with a sheer open front jacket. When I saw this on the rack, I fell in love and bought it right on the spot, and it fit like a dream when I got back home. It had a level of style, beauty and elegance that I liked, and, more importantly, it looked good on me. Also, it marked the first time I wore something that wasn't a solid color, which could be seen as pushing the envelope, as was the entire outfit, this was something bold and dynamic, but I was eager to give it a try. I paired my dress with the newly bought Payless "Janine" black patent pumps, off-black pantyhose, a black handbag, and a nice matching necklace. Words fail to describe how good it felt to wear that outfit, and it felt perfectly natural to wear that dress too.

My outing was to center city Philadelphia and the Museum of Art which I figured would be the perfect place to wear my dress. After arriving and parking in the garage, I hopped right out, feeling not the least bit anxious or nervous about what I was wearing, and that's the key to this whole business, feeling comfortable and at ease, if you fail and that, you're going to give off bad vibes that people around you pick up, and suddenly, they wonder what's going on with you. But in my case, it was no big deal to wear a dress and heels, and I acted that way as I strolled to the entrance to the museum, the three inch heels of the Janine pumps good and loud. I did get a couple of odd looks here and there as I entered since there was a good crowd inside for an early Sunday afternoon, but I acted just like every over patron who enjoys taking in the wondrous art that the museum had to offer, and I took my time (relatively), strolling throughout the building. Several people gaped and stared and did double takes, thought I heard a giggle but wasn't sure, but no one made a scene, however, there was a positive moment when in the European art section, an older lady came up to me, smiling and one said, "Excuse me, I never thought I'd say this to a man, but I love your dress! It looks fabulous on you. And your shoes are terrific!"

I think I blushed, never expecting compliments which I don't get often, but I smiled back and thanked the lady for her kind words, she said she was amazed I looked so at ease in my ensemble and complimented me for being bold before she left, wishing me a great day. That was pretty darn cool to say the least. I would spend another hour and a half, slowly strolling about, the Janine pumps very comfortable for prolonged standing and walking before the time came that I had to leave and get back home. And that was my experience, proving that a man can indeed look good in a dress if he does everything just right. Now I'm eager to wear more dresses because of how great it felt to wear them, and I know I have what it takes to pull it off. And my evolution as a fashion freestyler continues. Now to finish this post and go watch my Eagles in action!

Congratulations on your 200th outing. What a smashing outfit. Great looking dress, heels and all around look. (Sorry about your Eagles. Manning's playing terrifically this year. Denver is going to be hard for anyone to beat.)

Being mentally comfortable in your own mind is the key to wearing heels in public.

Mighty impressive Jeff. I'm glad you got a compliment from that nice lady. Perhaps not many people "get it" that a guy can wear heels and still be a guy, which is why compliments are so are (but it's so nice when it does happen). I admire your confidence and sense of enjoyment, a super way to celebrate your 200th.

If you like it, wear it.

Hey jeff, I love the dress. And you look great wearing it! I would wear it for sure. What brand is it? I especially love the bottom part of it, and the hose. Ii would have loved to see a pic without the over-blouse. But it was a very classy outfit. So happy for you!

Thanks for the kind words on my 200th jaunt, everybody! I appreciate your comments greatly! Yes, wearing that dress had been a wonderful experience for me, and I loved every minute, even though the outing wasn't quite as long as I would've liked. That was more enjoyable than my previous two outings (jaunts #100 and #150) and has solidified my desire to wear dresses more often because I enjoy them so much, and yeah, I look good in them. Between skirts and now dresses, it's going to be damn hard to go back to jeans, and, as I've said several times, I can't think of a good reason why I should.

Bubba: If I had known my Eagles would lay the colossal egg they had in Denver (though I suspected they would), I would've stayed out much longer, maybe gone into town after visiting the museum and had dinner somewhere. And yeah, the Broncos look pretty much unstoppable.

Pumpcat: HERE is a link to the page about the dress I bought at Sears. The fit and style was wonderful  and it worked perfectly for me. In fact, I'm pretty much sold on two piece dresses like what I wore on Sunday, and Sears has several more that appeal to me.

Oh, yeah! Because folks love numbers which makes the world go 'round, here's some on my jaunts:

JAUNTS BY YEAR

2008: 10 (jeans-6, skirts-3, pants-1)

2009: 42 (skirts-39, skorts-2, jeans-1)

2010: 28 (skirts-19, jeans-8, capris-1)

2011: 61 (jeans-35, skirts-18, skorts-4, capris-3, dresses-1)

2012: 34 (skirts-22, jeans-8, skorts-2, dresses-1, leggings-1)

2013: 25 and counting (skirts-18, jeans-5, skorts-1, dresses-1)

Skirts: 119

Jeans: 63

Skorts: 9

Capris: 4

Dresses: 3

Pants: 1

Leggings: 1

Skirts (above knee): 85

Skirts (below knee): 30

Skirts (at knee): 4

Skorts: 9

Dresses: 3

Jeans (tucked): 39

Jeans (untucked): 24

Capris: 4

Pants: 1

Pumps: 77

Boots: 75

Loafers: 30

Flats: 15

Sandals: 3

Thigh boots: 39

Knee boots: 34

Ankle boots: 2

Payless Shoes: 102

Other Shoes: 98

And here's something Thighbootguy will like, the footwear I've worn most on my adventures were the Pleaser "Legend" 4 inch heeled thigh high boots at 38 times. Hey, TBG! Thanks for turning me on to how great thigh boots are! That was followed by the Blondo loafers at 26 and the Pleaser "Vanity" 4 inch heeled knee boots at 18. The Payless shoes I've worn most are the "Hazel" pumps and "Tara" knee boots at 16, followed by the "Cori" wedge flats at 12 and the "Lance Flex" pumps in black at 11. Aren't numbers just wonderful?

I don't want to LOOK like a woman, I just want to DRESS like a woman!
