Maybe we can find a little inspiration on lookbook, after all it is its role.

For the very slim and petite sized guys, it seems that a number of Philippine guys have ideas, for example

http://lookbook.nu/jeroy

http://lookbook.nu/look/4159410-Kenneth-Cole-Handbag-Forever-21-Highwaist-Belt

One is disturbing, while he never wears high heels, his photos look like he is: http://lookbook.nu/look/8331903-Tan-Suede-Boots-

Some are doning the "agender" or "androgynous" look

http://lookbook.nu/look/4021096-All-Saints-Shirt-Topman-Jeans-Where-Have-You-Been

http://lookbook.nu/look/3267589-Deepstyle-Jeans-New-Look-Shoes-Blazer-I-Like-Boys-In-Heels-3

For men that are a bit less slim

http://lookbook.nu/look/6200919-New-Look-Heels-H&M-Skinyn-Grey-Jeans-Asos-Leather

http://lookbook.nu/look/8220851-Weekday-Turtleneck-Bershka-Skinny-Jeans-New

Or normal

http://lookbook.nu/look/7794670-Zara-Aztec-Blanket-Cape-H&M-Skinny-Denim-Mango

http://lookbook.nu/look/6342228-Black-Doesn-T-Crack

And for the guys that are more into dressing like girls

Don't know if it helps. Many people try to harmoniously blend in heels for men. Of course you will not find black stilleto pumps.

I am always looking for ideas that might work for me. I feel like I'm stuck in a rut with my clothes. I have all these wonderful shoes and sandals, but I feel like I wear the same clothes over and over again.

One of the problems that I consistently face, at least in the summertime, is necklines that are cut too low for me. Even a V-neck t-shirt won't work for me for two reasons: 1) I am very hairy, and I already spend enough of my life shaving and otherwise removing unwanted hair. I'm not about to begin shaving my chest also. Having a pile of hair sticking out of the neckline of my shirt when I present an otherwise sleek appearance is not the least bit attractive. 2) Even if No. 1 were not an issue, I would have a tan line from work that really can't be avoided, except by drastic measures. Again, I'm not really willing to go that far.

In light of this, I feel my choices are limited when it comes to wearing shirts that lean toward the feminine side. Other than that, I would consider wearing some of the stuff depicted in the slim/petite links.

I've always had a thing for oxfords, and I currently have 5 pairs. I'm always looking for just the right pair. If I were willing to accept a lower heel height, say 4 inches or below, I would probably own twice that many! Nice shoes, by the way!

Your selections are great and as only wearing above 4 inches I am totally with you. I like to know when I'm in heels and 4 inches in my size (11) is the minimum.

This is a possible contender for a meetup in September in the Cincinnati area...

Boots are from Bakers, style Jessie. An ex bought them for me years ago.

Jeans are Seven for all Mankind. Got them in a thrift store in SF.

Jacket is a brand called Charles and a Half? Not real leather, but I think it looks really good, which is saying something because I normally don't wear light colored jackets at all. Got the jacket in SF as well thrifting.

Would love feedback.

Great oufit. A royal blue shirt would pop with that. Also a red or burgundy one.

7 for Mankind Jeans at a thrift store? That is an awesome find.

Thanks Robbie. Yeah, royal blue is actually one of my favorite colors, but that shirt was dirty when I took the pictures.

As for the jeans, I know right?! They weren't a perfect fit but I vowed to lose enough weight to fit into them...

Looks good to me.  The power is in it's simplicity.

Attitude is key to style.  You want to wear the clothes, not let the clothes wear you.  Since a common fear of non-conforming to social rules involves fear of loss of status, I thought this this link to a Harvard Business School study would be well placed here.   The Red Sneakers Effect: Inferring Status and Competence from Signals of Nonconformity SILVIA BELLEZZA FRANCESCA GINO ANAT KEINAN, has key actionable insights for everyone here.   I don't have time to cut and past all quotes, but here are some fascinating quotes found with my limited time:

"We argue that while unintentional violations of normative codes and etiquette can indeed result in negative inferences and attributions, when the deviant behavior appears to be deliberate, it can lead to higher rather than lower status and competence inferences"

"we argue that nonconformity can lead to inferences of higher status and greater competence by providing visible evidence that individuals can afford to follow their own volition. Based on some of our experimental stimuli for nonconformity, we label this potential positive outcome of nonconforming behaviors the “red sneakers effect.”

"We demonstrate that nonconformity can fuel perceptions of status and competence in the eyes of others because deviating from the norm signals that one has the autonomy needed to act according to one’s own inclinations and to bear the cost of nonconformity."

"we show that the relationship between a person’s nonconforming behavior and observers’ perceptions of enhanced status and competence is moderated by observers’ need for uniqueness (Snyder and Fromkin 1977), such that observers with high levels of need for uniqueness tend to confer greater status and competence to nonconforming behaviors as compared to observers with low needs for uniqueness."

"We argue that inferences of greater status and competence from nonconforming behavior result from observers’ attributions of the nonconforming individual’s autonomy. Autonomy refers to self-governance and self-regulation (Ryan and Lynch 1989). The central idea in the concept of autonomy is indicated by the etymology of the term: autos (self) and nomos (rule or law). Thus autonomous individuals tend to act independently and behave according to their own rules. The significance of freedom and autonomy is built into the founding documents of the United States, and the idea that individuals are independent and autonomous is pervasive and generally greatly admired (Dworkin 1988; Markus and Schwartz 2010). Especially in Western cultures that place high value on individualism and independence, resisting group pressure can be perceived as a brave and bold gesture (Baumeister 1982; Galinsky et al. 2008; Kim and Markus 1999). Here, we suggest that nonconformity can be perceived as admirable behavior that reflects high levels of autonomy and control. While being easily influenced by others is not an admired personal trait (see Jetten, Hornsey, and Adarves-Yorno 2006), deviating from the norm signals freedom and autonomy from the pressure to conform (Phillips and Zuckerman 2001; Thompson et al. 2006) and thus can fuel positive inferences in the eyes of others (Van Kleef et al. 2011; Simonson and Nowlis 2000). Hence, we predict that observers will infer enhanced status and competence from signals of nonconformity because they believe that nonconforming individuals have greater autonomy to act according to their own volition and bear the cost of nonconforming..."

"These remarks suggest that status inferences may be driven by perceived deliberateness of the individual’s nonconforming behavior"

I think it's awesome that you are out in the daylight in your heels.   It took me a long time I get to that point. Started in the darkness of night. Now daylight stores shopping night time bar restaurant.   I just don't care what people on the street think .

Looks awesome!!!!

Folks;

Considering the pictures that @CAThas shown us over the past months, this is an amazing statement of growth in self confidence that we should all take to heart.  How many of us have said, "CAT looks great but I could never do that"?  Admittedly CAT has a good figure and great legs but if he started heeling "in the darkness of night" and has progressed to his current " I just don't care what people on the street think", this should be a goal for all of us.   Not that we all present in the style CAT chooses but rather we have the confidence to present our own style.

@hiheellover23 - Great look and great shoes!

I like to think I've also progressed to the point when I can wear what I like, where I like, and no one gives me so much as the time of day because I've gone to great pains to present a proper image and show complete confidence in the outfits I wear. Without confidence, then we can't succeed in displaying ourselves in public, whether it's just in heels, or women's clothes from head to toe.

By the by, I agree that hiheellover23 does look sharp!

I don't want to LOOK like a woman, I just want to DRESS like a woman!

Some folks probably understood but other (that hadn't looked down to his feet) probably thought it was just some very tall guy expressing that he was "getting up in the world". :penitent:

I do admire your and @hiheellover23's presentations.  I regularly wear jeans and boots (knee high, OTK, and thigh high) with heels but I still don't see myself in pumps and if I can't see it I cant do it.

Still in the "blend in" process and not "5 inch black patent pumps and regular guy clothes". But I think it may be interesting for you.

I find lookbook (and hhplace)  way more inspiring than the recent menswear runways featuring male models in heels.
