kneehighs
Chic cafe, champagne, fine food, and creme brulee with whom? 1. Queen Catherine de Medici--publicized the wearing of high heels for women when she wore heels at her wedding with the Duke of Orleans. 2. King Louis XIV--besides inventing the heel for men, he invented street lighting for Paris at night. 3. Roger Vivier--invented the stiletto in the 1950's 4. Jerome Fisher--founder of Nine West in 1983, Wharton Alumnus 5. Manolo Blahnik--made the shoe as important as the dress starting in the 1980's 6. Christian Louboutin--Red Soled Shoe, darling of A-listers everywhere starting in the 2000's Feminine Style . Masculine Soul. Skin In The Game. Dr. Shoe
I voted King Louis because he can hold his liquor better than all the others except queen catherine. The trouble is she gets punchy when she's drunk and is well embarrassing... Graduate footwear designer able to advise and assist on modification and shoe making projects. shyguy
I also voted King Louis but for different reasons. I wasn't aware of his drinking prowess, or Catherines punchiness but then I don't often socialise with them, just the odd occasion. He was so narrow minded he could see through a keyhole with both eyes. Brown's Law: If the shoe fits, it's ugly
roz
This is a great idea for a thread. I would say Louboutin, because it was a pair of his shoes that made me fall in love with expensive high heels.
Stilettoscot
I voted for Queen Catherine as she's long gone, and I do better talking to myself, anyways. Plus, more fine food and creme brulee for me. Walking in ultra-highs because it's exciting...and it is!!

JeffB
My vote's for Jerome Fisher as I've always loved Nine West shoes, especially their pumps. If only they went up to size 13.... I don't want to LOOK like a woman, I just want to DRESS like a woman!
benno
My friends and my girlfriend. All the people in the list would be completely up their own bottoms. Have you ever heard an interview with Blahnik? He is a sad old fashioned dinosaur. I still have a wish that one day I'll be rich enough to buy all the shoes Manolo has made and put them in those big metal 'Shoes for Charity' boxes that are all around the UK. Just to annoy him. roniheels
I voted for Christian Louboutin. I would be interested as to what inspired him for his designs and if he designs for any one type of person inparticular.
flavio
King Louis for me. I would take the time to say him to make a law prohibiting high heel shoes to be confined to women's feet. All other options are people that relate high heels with women (particularly Manolo) and I prefer not beeing in the same space with them. I would love to have this time with people like: - Jean Paul Gaultier - Christian Dior - Rui Leonardes - Marc Jacobs - Alexandre Herchcovitch (famous brazilian designer, has a heel colection) Flavio - Brazilian heel lover, now in France. I have a feeling Dior would bring back the Guillotine if he saw a man in heels. How about Alexander McQueen? Regards, Ben

I really made a mistake about it when thinking in Dior Homme heels for men from the last year collection. Flavio - Brazilian heel lover, now in France. Bubba136
While all of the people listed as choices are noteworthy, I don't see Gina's name amongst them. If she were included, I would vote for her (and, king Oliver). Being mentally comfortable in your own mind is the key to wearing heels in public. Trinity
From the list of names to choose from i selected Vivier, The stiletto is taken for granted now, but to understand its inception would be very interesting.

flavio
I didn't had a meal with King Louis of France but went to his home in Versailles and took a picture of him. My camera is a budget Samsung so please don't blame me for the bad quality. Flash was not allowed in the palace. He was in knee boots with some heels, of course! Kittyinboots
If he were alive today, King Louis XIV could promote men's high heels, and make it the norm in modern society. People could buy more heels and stimulate the economy. And if wearing heels were more socially acceptable, more men would go out in public just to be seen in heels, and boosting the economy even further. Though I'm no economist, these are just my thoughts. And I would like to enjoy creme brulee at a cafe wearing heels without feeling out of place. HHLover
I chose Louboutin since I just love his heels, but in all honesty, I'd rather have a drink with a celeb like Amanda Bynes, Lacey Chabert or Emmy Rossum while BOTH of us are WEARING his heels!
