JeffB Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 I like those. Nice find! Many thanks. It's kinda funny, a year or two ago, you couldn't have paid me to wear wedges, today, I have SEVEN pairs, including a cute pair of sandals I can't wait to wear once spring arrives! I just love wedges! I don't want to LOOK like a woman, I just want to DRESS like a woman!
bluejay Posted February 12, 2013 Posted February 12, 2013 JeffB, I agree too. Those are nice shoes. I also never liked wedges until I tried a pair of wedge heel sandals two years ago from Naturalizer. Now I have three pair of wedge heel sandals and hopefully will get a pair of closed toe wedge heels in the future. For now it's leggings and boots mostly for me. But spring is coming! Happy Heeling, bluejay
Cl0setheels Posted February 12, 2013 Posted February 12, 2013 I've been shopping last week in Germany. Found a lot of great shoes. Bought two pairs of heels and two pairs of flats. This saturday i'm going shopping with a girlfriend so after the weekend i probably have a few more new ones.
hh4evr1 Posted February 12, 2013 Posted February 12, 2013 The first pair I got a few weeks ago and the others are due for delivery on Thursday.
ilikekicks Posted February 12, 2013 Posted February 12, 2013 Cl0setheels : I like that first picture.. the flat shoes. Mixture of patent and matte material. Im going to have to look for something like those. REPEATEDLY ARGUMENTATIVE, INSULTING AND RUDE. BANNED FOR LIFE.
JeffB Posted February 12, 2013 Posted February 12, 2013 The first pair I got a few weeks ago and the others are due for delivery on Thursday. The slingbacks look sensational, and the pumps look great too! Excellent choices all! I don't want to LOOK like a woman, I just want to DRESS like a woman!
SleekHeels Posted February 13, 2013 Posted February 13, 2013 Nice pumps Daisuki, sure the toes are a little round but they're still very elegant shoes. For the gap at the back have you tried gel inserts under the toes? I found that worked for me (whereas the heel-grip inserts stop the slipping but visually the gap is still there). I don't have any advice on how to fix the shine, but it reminds me of a pair of boots I bought in the sales a while back - one of the boots must've been on display in a sunny shop window because its clour looks slightly faded. Sure it bugs me knowing it, but nobody's ever going to notice. Jeff I was getting all geared up to say I'd like those wedges to be higher, but the skirt really freshens up the look and you could probably walk miles in them! If you like it, wear it.
JeffB Posted February 13, 2013 Posted February 13, 2013 Jeff I was getting all geared up to say I'd like those wedges to be higher, but the skirt really freshens up the look and you could probably walk miles in them! At 3 1/2 inches, these new wedges are the highest I own, and considering I do a goodly amount of walking while on my little adventures, this height is perfect for me. Thanks to the rounded toes, the shoes are comfortable and easy to walk in, so yeah, I probably could spend a whole day in them, and when I do, I'll be wearing a skirt! I don't want to LOOK like a woman, I just want to DRESS like a woman!
Puffer Posted February 13, 2013 Posted February 13, 2013 ... Sure it bugs me knowing it, but nobody's ever going to notice. ... The simple solution to unequal appearance owing to fading is to put the less faded shoe into a sunny window for a period (maybe of several months) until the balance is restored. It has worked for me with both leather and synthetic shoes. OK, you might not want to wait for months before wearing those new favourites, but the 'window display' does not have to be continuous (and the shoes won't fade at night either!).

HeeledTeen Posted February 14, 2013 Posted February 14, 2013 Hey Guys i'm new to this site (but not to walking in heels), i really want to buy a pair but i'm afraid if my parents find them i'll never see them again, and tips, advice or stories (btw i'm 14 if it helps)
Stilletto2004 Posted February 14, 2013 Posted February 14, 2013 Just buy them. Be honest with your parents. It's much easier to be honest than to have them discovered. If you hide something from people they wonder about the reasoning and why you are afraid to be honest, which leads to them making up their own reasons. Trust me man, just be honest. Mike
RonC Posted February 14, 2013 Posted February 14, 2013 The first pair I got a few weeks ago and the others are due for delivery on Thursday. Nice! I like them all!
Jkrenzer Posted February 15, 2013 Posted February 15, 2013 These are only new to me, I just got off ebay and I love the feel and look.
SleekHeels Posted February 15, 2013 Posted February 15, 2013 The diagonal stacking of the heel is quite unusual. If you like it, wear it.
Steve63130 Posted February 15, 2013 Posted February 15, 2013 Reece, You might start with something that is not extremely feminine. Avoid stilettos, strappy sandals, bows and ornaments, pointy toes, open toes, slingbacks, sparkly or satin finishes, and stick with black or brown. A shoe with a unisex look (boots, booties, clogs, loafers, and some sandals) will be a lot easier for your parents to accept, and you won't have to hide them. Wear them often (so your parents see them and get used to them) and gain confidence. Over time, expand the envelope to wear more daring shoes if you want to, but build up to it very gradually. Your parents love you, I hope, and they want to see you succeed. Ask them what they wore as teens that their parents didn't approve of. You're just paying them back! LOL Steve

Daisuki Posted February 18, 2013 Posted February 18, 2013 The alternative I suggested, i.e. a waxy furniture polish, should do no harm to synthetic I tried the furniture polish approach today and it worked great! Thank you for the suggestion! Edit: My ears were burning about not adding a new pic, so here it is, along with a close-up. It was the right shoe that had the problem. As you can see, the shine is now brilliant! Thanks again!
bluejay Posted February 18, 2013 Posted February 18, 2013 inquisitor, Great shoe haul for you. I especially like the pastel blue pair from Bakers. I love to wear lots of colors. I am now waiting for a pair of Bandolino "Galliegh", purple pumps that are coming from, DSW on-line site. Can't wait to wear them with a purple outfit, that I put together. "Hue" purple corduroy leggings, with a light purple, long length sweater and black leather jacket. It will be an awesome combo. i will post a pic when I wear the outfit, on my thread, "Heeling with bluejay". Happy Heeling, bluejay
Daisuki Posted February 18, 2013 Posted February 18, 2013 Burlington Find: Jessica Simpson "Wallin" Pump: (via Amazon) Very beautiful shoes and thanks for the links! Bakers has some others that are catching my eye. As for your pics, I like the Jessica Simpson's the best, especially with the gold color.

RonC Posted February 20, 2013 Posted February 20, 2013 Birthday present to me. Nice simple cap toe. I like those! They also look like they will be wearable, as the heel is not outrageous.
JeffB Posted February 20, 2013 Posted February 20, 2013 Birthday present to me. Very cool! Those shoes look quite stylish! Good for you! I don't want to LOOK like a woman, I just want to DRESS like a woman!
