JeffB Posted September 25, 2007 Posted September 25, 2007 I haven't posted a picture here lately, so I'm correcting this oversight with this shot of me wearing my new "Tara" knee boots from Payless, along with a pair of genuine skinny jeans which I bought from Urban Outfitters this past weekend. I had to wait awhile to buy those jeans because the largest size was a 36, so I had to lose some weight over the last few weeks to fit into them. The "Tara" boots are a combination of faux leather/suede with pointed toes, 3 1/2 heels and three ornamental buttons on the top of the shafts. Hopefully, I'll get to show off this outfit in public when fall and it's cooler weather fully takes hold. So, what do you think, folks? All opinions welcome! I don't want to LOOK like a woman, I just want to DRESS like a woman!
Guest Posted September 25, 2007 Posted September 25, 2007 looks VERY good on you jeffB, I like how the grey matches the black of your boots, very nice indeed. BTW, I was ablw to get my digital camera back from my sister (in the process of moving) that I had SOLD to her, cause @ that time it didnt work with my older computer, but will now with my newer one, and when I get the recharger & interface cable I need from the CANON web site (the originals had gotten lost or perhaps mis-placed my sister told me @ some unknown point, she had also gotten a newer camera when she had gotten HER newer computer, like mine a DELL) so that being said I will be able to take (FINALLY!!!) some pics of ME in MY boots! (I cant wait!) cheers, Brad
Elegant Posted September 26, 2007 Posted September 26, 2007 I think that your outfit and stance has that exceptional "superhero quality"! What is good for a goose, can be good for any gender!
JeffB Posted September 26, 2007 Posted September 26, 2007 Thanks for the kind words, everyone! I do as best I can! Like I said, I plan to take that very outfit for a spin once it gets cooler. Should be plenty interesting! Heh! I don't want to LOOK like a woman, I just want to DRESS like a woman!
johnieheel Posted September 27, 2007 Posted September 27, 2007 I agree with everyone else. Lookin Good BIG BOY! real men wear heels
NewfieGuyInHeels Posted October 10, 2007 Posted October 10, 2007 Hey all. I posted a pic of some new pumps I got the other day in the "bought new shoes" thread. Just got the gumption to do a quick pic of me wearing them with a simple outfit. I'm still unsure if I can pull off pumps and make them look natural. But anything any of you have to say, good or bad, I'd love to hear it. Laters! http://s77.photobucket.com/albums/j78/darthraze/
HeelD Posted October 11, 2007 Posted October 11, 2007 I think that outfit pretty natural Newfie! Heel-D - Freestyling since 2005
canadianbeaver17 Posted October 11, 2007 Posted October 11, 2007 VERY PERFECT OUTFIT! Looks totally natural!
kneehighs Posted October 11, 2007 Author Posted October 11, 2007 Newfie--I'm sure you could pull off pumps. The attitude with which you wear them is actually more important than the outfit you wear them with, to tell you the truth. It's like Coco Chanel said, "“Elegance is not the prerogative of those who have just escaped from adolescence, but of those who have already taken possession of their future.” And here is another Chanel quote that poignantly addresses this issue, "When there is an incompatibility between the style and a certain state of mind, it is never the style that triumphs.” Is there someone here who has the ability to take this photo from the Fluevog Shoes site and bring it here to the hhplace.org gallery? Naturally, we will credit the Fluevog site in the future. Thanks! Feminine Style . Masculine Soul. Skin In The Game.
NewfieGuyInHeels Posted October 11, 2007 Posted October 11, 2007 Thanks Guys, Your deffinately 3 of the top members who's opinion I hold in high regard. And I will admit my gf says she likes them, and this outfit. I think I'll give them a spin out in the next couple of nights. Any opinions on either thin black socks, black hose, or bare foot? Thanks again. http://s77.photobucket.com/albums/j78/darthraze/

canadianbeaver17 Posted October 11, 2007 Posted October 11, 2007 Newfie, it's really your call. I prefer bare, but you can do trouser socks, or even I like a fishnet. It's little bit of a punky look.
Pam Posted October 12, 2007 Posted October 12, 2007 That is a cool outfit!! I think black tights would work well. KH ... those quotes from Channel are priceless! Hi to all ... i have been away for a while, but back again ... hope everybody is well.

Thanks again. I'm always more comfy with thin black socks. 1, they are good support, and 2, they attract less attention than bare feet or tan hose but thats just me. JeffB Posted October 13, 2007 Posted October 13, 2007 Today marked my first outing in heels since early April, and, as is my custom, I ventured to the largest mall in the area, crowded on a Saturday for my little expedition. My outfit consisted of a black leather jacket over a black turtleneck, jeans and the Payless "Tara" boots. Much to my surprise, the 3 1/2 heels were relatively silent on both tile floors and the street, nonetheless, the boots felt good and were quite comfortable, even after five hours and a goodly amount of walking. And, of course, virtually no one noticed a damn thing, even though passersby could clearly see I was wearing thin heels. All in all, it was quite a satisfying outing. As for the "Tara" boots, if you can find them in your size at your local Payless, by all means, treat yourself to a pair. They're definitely worth it! http://i142.photobucket.com/albums/r96/JeffCB2006/jeansandtaraboots-2.jpg?t=1192317905 I don't want to LOOK like a woman, I just want to DRESS like a woman!
iloveboots Posted October 13, 2007 Posted October 13, 2007 Jeff, you're back in the saddle again. Must feel good and we are all here in 100% full support. Glad your outing was so much fun and a good one. The Boots look great and the outfit incredible as always. When you look good and are confident there ain't much that can go wrong, david & cathy "Dress For Your Own Pleasure"

ShockQueen Posted October 14, 2007 Posted October 14, 2007 Way to go, JeffB! That outfit looks so natural on you, no wonder you have no problem going out and about in your heels. Glad you could find those boots in your size :-) Keep on smilin'! SQ.....still busting societal molds with a smile...and a 50-ton sledge!
Griez Posted October 14, 2007 Posted October 14, 2007 yeah thats really great if i could get something liken every human has they own choices...
JeffB Posted October 14, 2007 Posted October 14, 2007 Thanks for the kind words, everyone. It certainly felt good to go out and about again. The amazing part of it all was that I wasn't at all nervous, even though I hadn't been out in six months, I just got out of the car and strolled into the mall like I owned the place. It's a pity I don't have more time to go out other than on weekends, but I mean to enjoy my outings. More adventures to come.... I don't want to LOOK like a woman, I just want to DRESS like a woman!
JeffB Posted October 14, 2007 Posted October 14, 2007 As promised, a new adventure, albeit a short one since it was a Sunday and I had to get back to the house to watch my Eagles in action against the Jets. Anyhoo, I went on an outing downtown, sporting my black leather jacket over a blue turtleneck, navy dress pants, suntan pantyhose and the navy RSVP pumps. Just like at the mall on Saturday, I didn't garner anything in the way of attention in the almost two hours I was out, including a leisurably stroll through a major chain bookstore and a mall area for lunch. At the risk of sounding full of myself, I thought I looked pretty damn good! All in all, this outing was even more enjoyable than Saturday's because I was wearing pumps, my favorite women's shoe style, and I always feel great when I'm in them. And now, the pics. Enjoy! http://i142.photobucket.com/albums/r96/JeffCB2006/navyoutfit-1.jpg?t=1192387298 http://i142.photobucket.com/albums/r96/JeffCB2006/navyoutfit-3.jpg?t=1192387346 I don't want to LOOK like a woman, I just want to DRESS like a woman!

Bubba136 Posted October 15, 2007 Posted October 15, 2007 really a very nice look. Everything in sync, well coordinated and natural looking. No wonder your heels didn't attract any attention. However, I am very surprised your good looks didn't "catch the eye" of some good looking women. Being mentally comfortable in your own mind is the key to wearing heels in public.

Danielinheels Posted October 16, 2007 Posted October 16, 2007 Usually I hate blue-on-blue-on-black, but something about that outfit just makes it exceptional to my "rule." Nice outfits and glad to see you had two nice outings. Be yourself; everyone else is already taken. - Oscar Wilde
JeffB Posted October 16, 2007 Posted October 16, 2007 Usually I hate blue-on-blue-on-black, but something about that outfit just makes it exceptional to my "rule." Glad to hear you were willing to set aside your rule after seeing my outfit. Funny thing is, I wasn't much of a fan of navy once, but it's since grown on me, and I think I look sharp in that color. I don't want to LOOK like a woman, I just want to DRESS like a woman!
Danielinheels Posted October 16, 2007 Posted October 16, 2007 I would tend to agree with you! And I'll demonstrate what I mean about "touching blues to black" sometime this week. Be yourself; everyone else is already taken. - Oscar Wilde
