Shorts and pumps could be a great look on you, but unless your leg skin is perfect and totally hairless, I would think you'd want to consider legwear of some kind. It may be too warm for opaque tights, but something sheer and possibly colored or patterned could be a great combo, depending on the rest of the outfit. Give legwear some thought. Steve Been there, done that. I've worn one pair of tights ever, a pair of vertically striped Wolford's which I wore with over the knee boots and shorts--one time. I'm just not into tights. My dream is to wear shorts with pumps in a "sexy & androgynous" way. And that outfit is a white blazer, a pair of white shorts, a black button down oxford, and black heels. Now I'm going to spend the time researching the best possible options online and take both the blazer and shorts (which will be high waisted) to a tailor to make sure they conform as good as possible to my unique body shape. There is no doubt in my mind the outfit will work. The only limitation will be the one I allow fear to indulge itself with. What shorts would you wear. Womens short or mens longer ? If I could look as good as her, of course I'd order from all the way over the Atlantic Ocean from Gina Tricot and find someone local in Scandinavia to ship to me. There are a number of factors that will affect whether the look will work though, such as how tight the shorts fit around your thighs, how short they are (inseam length), how high the waist is, the color/fabric, and how much leg muscle you want to show. What's important to you about wearing shorts with heels? Do you want to go bare legged or go with tights? If short shorts is important as possibly suggested by the length of the ones in your pic, then I might opt instead for a denim cut off with a white button down. What's interesting is when doing a google image search for "how to wear black shorts with tights and heels", I couldn't find an example where a girl wore snug short black shorts with tights, but I did find multiple images of girls wearing jean cut offs with a white button down and black tights. Good luck Thanks for your advice,KH It was actually intentional that I choose the black ones, as jeans-shorts, black hose and sneakers is pretty much the fashion for young girls around here and I didn't want to emulate girls half my age too much. Interesting how 6.5 years of time and almost 3 years of socially and professionally submersing myself in the world of a high fashion environment via fashion's global capitals from New York to Paris has matured my personal sense of style. I would no longer call that outfit "experimental rocker" because it lacks timeless "rock star" accessories like bullets, skulls, studs etc. Nor would I wear that outfit, because it doesn't reference outfits I see fashion influencers like Kate Moss or Olivia Palermo wear, from whom my entire foundation for personal style has been rebuilt.
