johnieheel
Do you know, or have you ever known anybody close to you,(male), who has this thing for heels? I know a lot of men who think women in heels are sexy but really don't talk about it much. I believe it's a macho thing that a lot of men have it programed in their minds not to talk about or get involved in anything "fem". Personally, I do not know any other males, other than the ones I have met here who have a passion for heels like we do. real men wear heels
Bad_Robot
Much the same as johnieheel has experienced I have know many men who admire women in high heel shoes but they have never gone any further than making comments regarding the women wearing them. William
I know a lot of guys that will easily talk about how cool the high heels of the 70's were. Granted these are all guys in their 40's who would have no desire to wear women's shoes, but would probably wear the platforms of the 70's if they came back! roniheels
I personally don't know of any other men who enjoy wearing high heels. A friend of mine owns an exotic boutique where I have bought several pairs of high heels and she told me that many men come into her store to try on, walk in, and buy high heels and wear them out of the store. I just haven't met any of them yet.
HappyFeat
Personally, I haven't met any other guys (other than a few performers) who wear high heels, though I too have heard from clerks that it isn't uncommon for guys to buy and even try on shoes. One day, I will wander into a store when another male customer is there, I am sure. Style is built from the ground up!
HappyinHeels
Roniheels is exactly right. This is how I have discovered the extent of men buying high heels; by asking the employees or proprietors of the stores I may be in and I have found they are quite ready to share what they know. A store run by a friend of mine in Chicago which caters to the TG/CD crowd does better than 50% business with men who are buying shoes for men. Other stores such as Payless and Target seem to always have shoes in size 11 and sometimes 12, probably one in ten pairs of shoes sold at those store are intended for men. Then, of course there is the Internet. I have bought lingerie, pantyhose, high heels, dresses, and nail polish at Target or other stores and never had any reaction. You should try on shoes in the store or you can wait until the last 30 or so minutes of the business day when it is pretty empty if you are not so brave. Of course if enough people see guys trying on women's shoes it will become a routine sight not evoking any surprise at all. The bottom line is that money is gender neutral and so are the vsat majority of stores like these, they know there is another market out there...US! Histiletto
Men wearing high heels is probably the most secretive activity around the world, because I have also heard of guys buying heels. There have been some times that my size is sold out and the clerk would tell me they were bought by guys. Now this doesn't actually prove they bought the heels for themselves, but you can't completely rule the possibility out. Whose to say the spouse or girlfriend does't buy heels for their guy? I guess we won't or can't know the quantity of men that actually wear high heels, until after they become commonly part of men's fashions. I'm sure the world will be surprised upon the revelation of such statistics.
danielp6406
I don't know or met any men wearing heels. But all sale managers from my prefered stores (Aldo-Spring-Transit) agree on one point. They all have a few male customers who buy heels for themselve without hidding it. They also have many male customers who buy size 10 or 11 saying they are for their wife or girlfriend. Would be very nice to get some sales statistics on this matter. Next time I visit a store, I will ask for more details.
HappyinHeels
RonC, I surely am talking about Skyscraperheels located at 2202 West Belmont Ave, tow blocks west of Damen. From West/North exit Kennedy Expwy. at Kimball and make an immediate left at the Walgreens at Belmont and Kimball. Then go east on Belmont Ave. past Western Ave. to store on left. I usually park around corner on Leavitt. You can wear heels into the store, nobody will notice or care. You'll absolutely love it!!! Thighboots2
None of the guys I have met have expressed an interest in wearing anything other than shoes marketed at men. That doesn't mean to say that they are not open about wearing heels, but only in a masculine context. I wear YSL Johnny boots and Archie Eyebrow boots, both of which have 7cm cuban heels. I have had nothing but compliments about them but none of the guys expressed a desire to own aq pair for themselves, that was until a couple of weeks ago. We had a delivery driver collect from work last Friday. The factory is closed on Fridays, but he and I walked through the factory to get the boxes for his delivery. I had my Archie Cubans (Lenny) on. Once he was all signed up, he mentioned my boots and asked exactly where he could get some and they were just his style and he rather gushed about the heel height and how he had been loolking for this for some time now. Of course I obliged him with the details. Also mentioned HHP as a resource. Simon. Are you confusing me with someone who gives a damn?
AZShoeNut
Howdy, As I have searched the web for research articles about men wearing high heels I have come across the number that 2% of men like to wear high heels for fetish or whatever reasons. It is also suggested that this number is likely to be on the low side because guys generally do prefer to keep this on the down low. So if you are at a shopping mall it is likely that there are several hundred men there as well. So if you have four hundred men it is also likely that at least 8 of the dig wearing heels. When I am out in public places with a lot of people I like using that statistic to get an idea of just how many guys there are around me who could be down with wearing heels. As a teenager when I would drink (I know I know - teenage drinking - long time ago) with my buddies usually we would stumble upon a pair of my "moms" high heels. It didn't take much of a dare for my buddies to throw them on. Now none of them were guys that wore high heels other than those times however I can remember one night where three of us wore them around the back yard until the wee hours of the morning. The next day they didn't seem to have a problem with it. Coming back to the 2% figure. I think that there are lots of guys out there that dig wearing high heels and are growing tired of just wearing them around the house. How much fun is walking only 15 or 20 feet before you have to dodge furniture or a wall or something? Heck, I barely get my pace up in 15 feet. I really think that if more guys could have a someplace to go where they could openly wear their shoes without being judged and without being considered weird without there being a weird vibe on the place that it could be a really good thing. I have no idea what this would look like or where it could be however I am putting it out there that I intend to facilitate its creation. I am hoping to come across some good folks with great ideas and bring an open place for guys (and gals) to chill and enjoy wearing their high heel shoes. Later, Larry Life is short... 5.5 Thrill
I also know of no other male who likes to wear heels, but also ask, and I'm told that other guys come in and try on heels like I do. NOW for an idea: I am going to print bussiness cards with the HH place web address on them and a short explanation as to what we are all about here. It goes without saying that approval of the webteam is in order before proceeding. The cards would be given to store mgrs. to give to guys who try on and or purchase a pair of heels. Anyone of us with a printer could do this. What do you, all of you, think???? Thrill IF GIRLS CAN WEAR PANTS THEN I CAN WEAR HEELS

AZShoeNut
Howdy, Actually, I was planning on doing a similar thing for certain places here in the Phoenix area for the "support" group as it develops. roniheels
There is one man here at work (two years older than me) who always makes a comment when he sees women in the office wearing high heels and how great they look in them. One day in our group we all were just chatting and he made the comment, "...I love high heels...on women." And from there, discussion by both men and women in the group began concerning the wearing of high heels...by women. I wear high heeled (men's) boots to work daily and have just had a few comments concerning the style of the shoe. That is the closest I have come to hearing another man describing his enjoyment of high heels.
Puffer
I've come to this thread rather late but read with interest all that's been said. Let me express a few thoughts: 1. I'm doubtful that because a male friend is known to be a 'women in heels admirer' (and few will not be, if probed, even though they may rarely/never mention it), he will be more receptive to the idea of men wearing heels; there is really no connection. (After all, I might openly lust after redheads, or women with long nails, but that scarcely suggests that I would want to display either myself.) 2. The 'secretive' element has been mentioned and is surely the biggest barrier to discussion of male heel wearing, even between close friends. Ask yourselves these questions honestly: (a) how many really close male friends do you have? ( of these, with how many could you have a discussion about something really personal (such as marital or sex problems)? © of these latter, to how many could you reveal an interest in male heel wearing without fear of some sort of adverse reaction? My guess is that most of us will will lucky if we can think of ONE male friend (fellow board members aside) with whom the subject could be discussed reasonably easily. Most men do not even discuss clothes/fashion in the most general sense with their mates to any great extent, beyond saying 'You look good in that' or similar. In my own case, I can think of only two or three men within ( above and I am doubtful that the subject could be discussed with any of them. One (commenting on the modest heels his daughter was wearing one day) said that he wore higher heels than hers in the 1970s - but what was fashionable for a 30 year-old then would scarcely be 'expected' wear for someone of 50 - 60 today. Another, who has a designer background and can be a sharp and quite flamboyant dresser, has never worn any shoes remotely 'feminine' in my presence and I doubt he would (although both he and his wife have admired my pointed shoes and boots, albeit with heels barely higher than normal). Quite frankly, I would not expect the subject to come up without some awkwardness unless it was prompted by a third party action, e.g. seeing a male stranger in heels, or some news item mentioning male heels in a fashion, entertainment or medical context. Any of them might give the excuse to sound out the friend's opinion - maybe approaching the subject from a negative viewpoint, e.g. 'I don't think much of that look, do you?'. But, once the ice is broken ... Perhaps perversely, I would find it easier to wear (modest) heels in a natural way in company than to initiate talk about them in any depth with friends or family. Maybe doing that, by providing an opening for comment, is the best way to break the ice?
ET88
Men who like women in heels - thats probably the norm. (soft porn channels like playboy always have their starlets with high heels because they want to attract more viewers). Men wearing heels themselves - thats another issue. probably most of them keep it secret fearing adverse response, so there is no way to get good statistic until the social climate will change.
