I have once or twice worn 2" block heels very discretely - and also shown a male colleague a pair of stiletto boots. My job is far too busy and stressed for the distraction of wearing heels. That and the fact that I'm dealing with the fairly sensitive subject of monitoring key performance indicators. Sorry to disappoint.

I love the boots! I went to a payless the other day wearing some new 4" stacked heel boots that I had bought there before. I walked right in and picked out some new boots and mules to try on. I had some balck thigh highs on under my jeans. I took the new boots over to where I could sit , slipped off my boots and tried them on. One sales gal walked by - looked and smiled. She never said a word. So I tried them both on - walked a little - put my other boots back on and bought the other 2 pair. She rang up the sale and said that I had good taste in shoes. I've posted about this at length elsewhere, so I'll be brief, but I think it's relevent here: I was out in Manchester with some friends, and there were two girls standing at the bar, one of which was wearing a very attractive pair of black patent platform Mary Janes with very high chunky heels. She caught me looking at her shoes, and said "You like my shoes, don't you?". I was honest and told her that they looked great on her, and that I'd noticed them because I wear heels myself. Both her and her friend thought it was really cool, and she asked what size I wore. It turned out we were both an eight, and she immediately asked if I wanted to try on her shoes and I spent a very happy few minutes wearing them. She complimented me on my ability to walk, my shaved legs and having nice feet! Unfortunately she had a boyfriend, but she did invite me to join them at the club they were going on to, and offered to let me wear her shoes there. Sadly I had to decline as I didn't want to run out on the friends I'd come out with. In addition to the two girls, when I got outside one of the girls with us, who I don't really know, said that I looked great in the heels and that she loved that a masculine guy could wear heels. This last weekend at the singles dance, I danced with 5 or 6 different women, while wearing my black leather ankle boots with 5" heels. While out on the dance floor with one woman, another looked over at me and said loudly, "I love your boots!"

Well, for me, curiosity about how my mom could walk in high heels got me started back when I was around 14 and the only way I could answer that question was to wear her shoes. Right then and there, I caught the bug and the rest was history. Attention? God no! I don't worry about that sort of thing. While the sight of a man wearing high heels can indeed be attention grabbing, especially for a guy as tall as I am (6-2), all I want is to blend in with my surroundings as best I can and go about my business. The sexual angle? In the very beginning perhaps, admittedly, it was rather stimulating, arousing even, but not anymore. Nowadays, heels are just another part of my wardrobe, nothing more.

I was wearing black ankle boots very much like them, they came from a site I've mentioned on these boards before. She asked me about my boots and we got into a discussion about men's clothing styles. I gathered she doesn't like the "thugz" thang. I told her that as long as women fall all over "thugz" and the media such as eMpTyV promote it, that men/boys will continue to wear it. I saw her in the club a few times after that. She looked a fair amount as LaLopez did in her more Boricua days, the bountiful behind and all. No fear of "R'n'B types" here, but caution of anyone with a shaven head and FUBU. "Thugz" are "Thugz," period. ------ Wanted to add that she was very pretty. She was dressed in a full skirt with the boots and had a tam on her head. She also had the obviously blondined hair and wore blue eyeshadow so beloved of Boricuas. I noticed that some of the adresses start with wwww instead of www. Maybe that's what messes up the cookie. I tríed to change these link, but that doesn't help.

BTW. Windows comes with screen capture features. Just ctrl+prt scn (above "insert") and then paste in Paint.

I had a great heeling experience. I had a cell call and wasn't paying much attention to anyone around me in a electronics department store. When a saleswoman just walked up to me and said I like your shoes. I finished my call and attempted to engage her in conversation but she had picked up a customer. I hope this doesn't get posted twice. The browser was being screwy.

Most of my boots are riding-style boots with heels that typically are ¾” to 1.25”. For the most part, no one bats an eye. I wear them to church, work etc, and I do work in a pretty conservative environment, ditto for church. For the most part, the only comments that I have had have been positive. I walked in behind a co-worker and she looked around at me. Later when I went to talk to her about something, she looked very directly at my feet and asked if I was wearing boots. When I said yes, she said that she thought another female was behind her (the sound of the heels) and was surprised it was me. She and another co-worker then commented on how nice my boots were, especially compared to the styless clunkers worn by most of the men. So if anyone thinks they are women’s boots, they give no indication. In fact, I had a guy at church admire a pair of my boots, and went on to confess that he “had a thing for shoes” and had about 50 pairs of dress shoes (mens shoes). Again, no indication that he thought mine were anything but guys shoes. As for the sound of the heels, I have had other guys at work jokingly gripe at me about injuring their necks looking to see who is walking along (presumably a female) only to see me. I just point out that one of the other guys wears loafers with loud heels that sound the same.

Of late I have been wearing several different pairs from Nordstroms. One pair are “plain” riding boots with a little buckle well up on the calf where it is never seen.

I actually liked them so much that after buying a dark brown pair, I went back and bought a pair in black.

The other two pairs are lace-up style, in that they are really zipper boots with the laces doing little more than adjusting the snugness of the boots. I can’t find the exact boots on their website, but here is a link to a style that is similar.

Picture these boots as knee-high and with a ¾” riding boot heel. I have them in black, and IMHO, they look great.

I also have a similar pair in brown with the laces running up the back. Again, I think they look great under my dress pants. My 3 pairs of Nordstrom boots are all very nice leather and just smell of quality.

The highest heels that I go out in are a pair of black Naturalizer boots with about a 1.5” heels. They look a lot like these, except that they have smooth shafts with none of the buckles or ornamentation.

The Nordstrom boots are made of a nice leather that is very soft and smooth to the touch. They are very warm and comfortable to wear, but with the heel getting that high, I don’t wear them to work or church. I wore them to a recent concert and then to the circus this week, both times under jeans. A tthe circus, I was a bit surprised to find a coworker sitting right behind me. If he or his wife noticed the boots, they gave no indication.

Bottom line: I don't get too radical and no one says a word. I may not get to wear as high a heel as I would like, but on the other hand I get to wear my boots every day and just about every where.

Well, I've had my first positive comments in public regarding my heels. I was in the Union Square branch of DSW in Manhattan about 2 Fridays ago (whilst on my vacation) trying on some lovely Nine West Black Pumps when a cute girl walked past me. As she walked past she giggled and said "Those are nice shoes!" I said, "Thank you." She and I smiled and she walked off. Told my girlfriend who was in another aisle found it very amusing. Funny this was the exact same store that Shafted got his comments when trying on his boots. No problems trying on shoes in this store. I bought the pumps.

I got a good response on Friday - NO response at all! I went out to dinner at a chain resturant with my gf, our friend and her bf. I had on the boots in my avatar under my jeans with like at least 1" heel showing while standing. They got their first and made no comment. We left together to go to a coffee shop and no comment. Walked back to the car together and no comment. It was really the best thing in the world. I previous wore black ballet flats around them and a girls tight zipup sweater and it didn't ruffle any feathers. I guess you can say that if you don't make it a big deal, they won't make it a big deal. This night really gave me more confidence and reassurance to keep on wearing what you like.
