Heels in McDonald's

I popped into a branch of McDonald's the other day wearing some black over the knee boots with 4" heels and gold buckles worn over grey sprayed on denim jeggins, after ordering food i sat down to tuck into my quarter pounder with cheese and large fries. As i was eating i noticed a woman about a similar age to me (mid 50's) sat the other side of the aisle, she couldn't take her eyes off me and whenever i looked back at her she kept giving me a big friendly smile. After about 20 minutes she walked to the dustbin behind me then still with a drink in her hand turned to me and said "i hope you don't think I'm cheeky but would you mind if I joined you"

I told she was welcome and to take a seat, she complimented me on my boots and apologised for constantly staring at me, she also asked me about how I felt about wearing such boots on full show in public, i told her that i had been wearing heels and boots for so long now that i never really think twice about it. At this stage I was wondering who she actually was and why the interest in me. She apologised again and explained that she has a husband who also enjoys wearing heels, she said he only ever wears them at home and has never considered venturing out in them, they both considered it totally inconceivable that a man could even think about going out in heels whilst keeping their male identity, and here she was looking at me as bold as brass in otk boots without a care in the world. We chatted for about an hour and she was looking for advice on how she could get her husband to be a bit more adventurous with his heeling, i said maybe they could go out together both wearing heels to possibly take some of the attention off of him to which she thought that might be a good idea, eventually we had to say goodbye and regrettably i never thought to exchange numbers to keep in touch. I may never know how he progressed in heels but i will definitely keep popping into that particular branch of McDonald's in the hope of meeting her or even them together again

That's a pretty cool meeting. Never thought that's where your story would go!! I too have ended up at McD late late at night !!! Here is one of my outfits

Wow CAT, you look amazing, love the skirt and jacket and the shoes are to die for, i wish the story did have a different ending but who knows, i may just be lucky enough to see them again

I had a happy occurrence myself in a McD's a couple of months back. It was about 2am on a Friday night in Manchester. I was feeling brave that night, so I'd been out for a wander in my new Jeffrey Campbell black suede Lita ankle boots, which have a pretty high heel and platform, with skinny black boot cut jeans and a grey knitted sweater. I was a bit peckish so went into the restaurant and queued up to order. 

Almost immediately a group of 3 pound girls, maybe 18 or so, joined the queue behind me, and I could hear the muffled comments when they spotted the boots. I turned to see one of them angling for a picture with their phone, so I asked if they wanted me to pose for a better shot! This started us chatting, with all the usual questions about why I was wearing heels and was I gay. I replied happily, and explained that just because I wore heels didn't mean anything about my sexuality, and that, at the end of the day, people should wear what they like, its only clothes after all. 

At this, one of the girls gave me a big hug and said "Aww, I wish you were my Dad"!

In 5 seconds I went from possible fashion icon to feeling very very old, and I'm only 45! Ah well, at least I made them smile...

@Jura, that is a very nice story, but I'm afraid you're going to have to explain the expression "3 pound girls" to this Yankee. Or is it "pound girls," and there happened to be 3 of them? In any case, I am curious about this expression.

God damn Apple spell checker! It was meant to say "3 young girls"! Though, thinking back, the can't have weighed much more than 3lbs each either

@maninboots - Thanks for sharing your McDonalds story.  I hope the unidentified guy appreciated the counsel you gave his wife and has the nerve to go out and about.  Did you mention that HHPLACE might be a good resource for both he and his wife.

@Jura- Also, thanks for sharing you McDonalds story.  You have a long way to go before you are "old" (which is only a state of mind) but its nice to have mile markers along the way.  Enjoy your boots Pop.

@CAT - The thing I learn hear at HHPLACE... I have always found fishnet stockings uncomfortable and haven't worn them.  It never dawned on me to wear them over hose.   The heels look great but I must be getting old because I don't see how you walk in them.  How high is that heel on that single sole pump?  Whatever it is... Well done.

Thank you again TBG!  I have to say I love the fishnets.  I have worn them a couple of times with the tights and more without.  I don't have a problem either way with comfort.  It depends on the look you want.  I had a ton of compliments with the shiny tights under the black fishnets looks sexy I was told.  I wore the nude fishnets out and a girl told me they looked awesome and gave her the idea to get some because it did not stand out like black and she said she did not even know I was wearing them until she approached me and told me.  You can also find vendors that make tights that have a fishnet pattern on them. Some small net yup to wide fence net. Try Hue.  As far as the shoes go they are Pleaser Devious Daggers with a 6-1/4" heel!!!   That my max on a single sole'.  I have worn them for a few hours and the only reason they work for me is the toebox is perfect.  I liked them so much I bought a pair of Daggers in locking ankle boots!   I told my GF she can keep the key,,,, her reply was "it's ok honey even if I unlock your boots you won't take them off anyway!!"   LOL. And yes that's probably true.  I am very thankful that she is not only ok with my heels but shops with me for me and has no problem when we go out and I wear heels just as she does (just a little bit higher)

The Chicago meet is good for me. I was at a meeting there a couple of years ago with "Iloveboots" , " Bernheels" and others.

I am retired now and aside from doctors appointments I am ready to go. Keep it in mind. Who else would like to chime in ?

I couldn't stand it any longer.  I looked up the dates of the last High Heel meet I attended. It was the 4th Annual North American

High Heel Meet in Chicago. March 2, 2013. Also, in 2010 as well. Good place for a meet -- lots of food & motels -- and fun things to do.

McDonalds of all places, who would have known!  What great outings indeed, so hope to have an encounter like this someday....I have worn my boots out for pizza, but never McDonalds.  I sure hope Maninboots encounters that woman again someday, would be great to make new booted friends and provide encouragement!

Jura, I am so envious of your ability to stay confident, and have a positive effect on those young girls, so cool!

And Cat, you certainly showcase those fishnets amazingly!  I layover in downtown Chicago sometimes, and would love to meet up with anyone in the area for a booted outing and something to eat.  Sometimes I have shorter layovers at the airport, just in case there is anyone who lives near Ohare.

Why not let us be the judge of that. It sounds like you have some very sexy heels also. But I do agree Cat had a great set if limbs.

I have not herd a word from iloveboots for a couple of years. So, I called Bernheels (Mich.) and asked him if he had any news about iloveheels.

Bernheels reminded me that iloveboots traveled to Mexico quite often. The belief is that iloveboots owned property there and when iloveboots

retired, he never returned and doesn't participate in HHPlace any longer. Sad: I always enjoyed David's company and his Boots.

Yes, David was very good to me when I first "came out" online about loving to wear high heel boots.  I surely hope he is doing well, should have taken the time to thank him before he disappeared!
