Does It Ever Make You Wonder?

I predate HHP, and was a regular visitor and contributor to Jenny's High Stiletto Heels website. Of course, back then my focus was totally different, as I was trying to get my ex-wife to wear more and higher heels. This was back in the late 90s, and them were some dark days for heel lovers. Fast forward 10 years (or is it 15!), and I actually joined HHP for myself as a heel wearer. As for who may be reading our posts, I don't want to know.

Patent Letter, then Jenny's followed by here.  It started with a search about wearing heels - of course.  Was a lurker for many years - sadly.

Just a bit higher to to delight - low enough for healthy foot comfort and great beginning.

I googled "how to make heels quit" it sent me to the modification forum here And now I am happy to be apart of this to tell my sides of life in heels

I'm assuming something didn't quite work as you expected it.

I searched men who like high heels. A lot of the links were more fetish orientated, but found quite afew including this one about men who wear heels. I read posts for awhile before joining and wearing heels in public.

Just a straight search "High Heels" expecting girls only and there's plenty, HHP came up, quite fetishy at that time (summer '08) signed on in september and not looked back.

Always fasinated with heels and growing up in the seventies with platforms and cuban heels in fashion for us guys was a time of heaven and the girls well they were just WOW !

Learning that this obsession of wearing was quite common gave me confidence to try openly, buy my own and discuss it with my future wife and receive acceptance be it limited. she is now wearing less height due to ankle injuries and is quite jealous on my ability. (A note to add) so is most of the family.

As to who's looking, well people like us (and girls), guys just into girls in heels that would be surprised at the male content that may just leave in disbelief. Trans people exploring, less people getting thrills out of the extreme as those sub forums have gone. Finally GOOGLE that seems to watch everything we do and go online.

Big thumbs up to all.

I started wearing heels openly when I was 24. When my parents found out they pretty much said everything to me to get to stop and threw me into a bit of a depression. Believing I couldn't be the only one in this huge world of ours I did a search which helped me fine all you amazing ppl. 8 years later I have an amazing wife, a happy home, and I wear heels whenever I please! The one exception is around my parents. That being out of respect and I just don't want to put up with their comments haha.

I don't really remember, its been 6 years now.  I think I was searching maybe for men's heels or something like that.  I had no idea a forum like this existed.  I am really happy I found this place though.  Knowing there are a lot of men in my shoes (LOL), makes this all so much easier.  Many members encouraging stories over the years have helped me feel more confident and feel better about myself and my situation.  Very happy to be here, even though it does not feel like it has the same level of activity it had back then, glad to have this site still hanging on.  :)

  • 2 weeks later...

There was a video on facebook of men dancing in heels to spice girls. After google men in heels it lead me hhplace. I like here. I have more support from hhplace than I do at home. I am glad I found this site.

I came across the website while seaching for heels in mens sizes. I spent many hours reading the posts and realized this was a forum I would enjoy participating in.

In my case, I came across Jenny's site and Firefox's site in 1996 or 1998. Didn't post then at those forums, but I recall very interesting people there. Then I logged on here around 2002. I began posting a few years later.

All these sites have been a great support on my heeling.

I found Jenny's site as well, slowly venturing out with and then Firefox's input lead me to here. It has been many years since I started with heels and HHP helped

prove to me "we can do this"! It has been great confidence booster and as mentioned over and over "we only have one chance at life, so do wear what you want to"

So Dr Shoe, on your note, what happen to Firefox and Xaphod? are they still around? I always wonder what happens to folks who where around early on?

I guess they've moved on and busy with other things. To some people, once they no longer need the support of forums like these they leave but others tend to stick around and offer support to others coming through. They have both looked in from time to time in the past 18 months or so.

Thanks for the update Dr Shoe, agreed once a person feels more confidant an able progress the site is less becomes less important.

The pace of life these days makes it hard to spend the time we use to at all the various interests we have.

In my opinion, those who have "graduated" and no longer need help from this forum should still continue to stay around and offer help and inspiration to newbies and others who are still engaged in battle with the demons in their heads. The same kind of behavior occurs in the legwear forum (tights, pantyhose, stockings) in which I participate (http://forums.delphiforums.com/legwearuf). People come and go, but some of us who have gained confidence stick around to motivate and help others. A few leave and come back, but most who leave don't, just like in this forum.

Note to anyone who has left here but has returned and happens to be reading this. Thank you for coming back. Please stay around and help others. It's a good way to pay back the high heel community for having helped you in the past.

I personally do not need this forum anymore. But I came back to give back, so others can enjoy what I probably take for granted.

Yes I am beginning to feel the same, my time here has been very worthwhile but after 12 or so years, I can now do what I want, when I want and have learnt a lot from people on this forum, and skirts and the like do not interest me at all.

Shafted,

Thanks for sticking around and offering your services to keep this forum family friendly and civil. Please continue. We need good people like you.

DWW,

Your attitude is understandable and like a lot of us, you have matured and reached the confidence level to which you once aspired, so the benefits to you of staying here are greatly diminished. But like I said in my post above, your experience has tremendous value, if you would be so good as to continue to check in here on a regular and frequent basis, so you can advise others who are not as far along in their journey as you are. Thanks for being there; your help is still needed.

I often think back to the feelings of despair and low self-esteem that many of us grapple with before we come to terms with our passion for heels. It's a shame that something as trivial as fashion preferences can overwhelm some people, and narrow-minded people expressing their prejudice shouldn't be the only voice they hear. That's why this forum is so important and why I continue to make the effort to contribute, inspired by others who do the same whether they're founding members or enthusiastic newbies, and hoping that it gives troubled readers a more balanced and hopeful perspective. We just like beautiful shoes, that's all.

If you like it, wear it.

My path here, I believe, was either Jenny's page or PGTS (remember that and how it grew).  I like this forum as it allows me to converse and meet with like minded people.

I found heels4men first about 5 years ago.  I started wearing heels on my own by then and once in a while in front of the wife.  From there i found this web site and it is the only website I go to  now.  I LOVE THIS SITE!

Same here, Jenny's or PGTS. Back when Laurie posted a lot on both sites. What was that, late '90? I wonder what happened to her.

Best,

Larry
