Bubba136 Posted April 29, 2012 Posted April 29, 2012 I usually just wear the short that I usually wear with my girls shoes (sandals) and have been for the past ten years. Being mentally comfortable in your own mind is the key to wearing heels in public.
Gudulitooo Posted May 11, 2012 Posted May 11, 2012 Attached is a pic from my latest theater trip. A more casual outfit than a white tie + opera pumps. Love it. 1
Pumps Posted May 18, 2012 Posted May 18, 2012 I tried the shorts thing. One of the Gina Tricot ones. 1
kneehighs Posted May 18, 2012 Author Posted May 18, 2012 Pumps--good for you for experimenting with the shorts and heels AND tights look. The addition of tights makes ALL the difference here. There are a number of factors that will affect whether the look will work though, such as how tight the shorts fit around your thighs, how short they are (inseam length), how high the waist is, the color/fabric, and how much leg muscle you want to show. What's important to you about wearing shorts with heels? Do you want to go bare legged or go with tights? If short shorts is important as possibly suggested by the length of the ones in your pic, then I might opt instead for a denim cut off with a white button down. What's interesting is when doing a google image search for "how to wear black shorts with tights and heels", I couldn't find an example where a girl wore snug short black shorts with tights, but I did find multiple images of girls wearing jean cut offs with a white button down and black tights. Good luck Feminine Style . Masculine Soul. Skin In The Game.
Shafted Posted May 18, 2012 Posted May 18, 2012 I tried the shorts thing. One of the Gina Tricot ones. I actually like this shorts and heels look in your photo Pumps. It's due to the shorts being fitted and not baggy. Like the hosiery too. You definitely have the build for this outfit and it looks great. Shafted, the boots that is! Good luck Thanks for your advice,KH It was actually intentional that I choose the black ones, as jeans-shorts, black hose and sneakers is pretty much the fashion for young girls around here and I didn't want to emulate girls half my age too much. I will continue to experiment and I may even go bare legged as I shave them for cycling (well not only for that). Jimnj3 and Shafted, your comments are appreciated.
JeffB Posted May 18, 2012 Posted May 18, 2012 I tried the shorts thing. One of the Gina Tricot ones. That looks damn good! The combination of fitted shorts, hosiery and heels worked very well. Bravo to you! 1 I don't want to LOOK like a woman, I just want to DRESS like a woman!

Great for you Pumps, I love your passion to developing your personal style, something that evolves with practice and persistence. Loving the rocker look buddy, masculine and HOT I appreciate the compliment, thank you. Interesting how 6.5 years of time and almost 3 years of socially and professionally submersing myself in the world of a high fashion environment via fashion's global capitals from New York to Paris has matured my personal sense of style. I would no longer call that outfit "experimental rocker" because it lacks timeless "rock star" accessories like bullets, skulls, studs etc. Nor would I wear that outfit, because it doesn't reference outfits I see fashion influencers like Kate Moss or Olivia Palermo wear, from whom my entire foundation for personal style has been rebuilt. Pumps Posted July 2, 2012 Posted July 2, 2012 (edited) A slim guy. Number 4 would also be my favorite to try, but I don't have the form for it. Number 5 is the most sexy for a woman. Very hot. Bought myself a pair of leatherlook pants, to try out this look and other experiments. http://hhplace.org/gallery/image/1625-leather-look-pants-with-jacket/ http://hhplace.org/gallery/image/1624-leather-look-pants-2/ http://hhplace.org/gallery/image/1623-leather-look-pants/ Edited July 2, 2012 by Pumps
Shafted Posted July 3, 2012 Posted July 3, 2012 Overall I like the first one the best. Love the splash of color in the teal top. Shafted, the boots that is! JeffB Posted July 3, 2012 Posted July 3, 2012 Pumps: Bravo, my friend! Your pics look great! The first one is my favorite! Good work all around! I don't want to LOOK like a woman, I just want to DRESS like a woman!
gary0618 Posted July 3, 2012 Posted July 3, 2012 Yes, #1 with the color is nice. But With the t-straps. FLAT SHOES, LIKE FLAT DRINKS, ARE FOR FLAT PEOPLE
Pumps Posted July 4, 2012 Posted July 4, 2012 Overall I like the first one the best. Love the splash of color in the teal top. Pumps: Bravo, my friend! Your pics look great! kneehighs Posted July 4, 2012 Author Posted July 4, 2012 Thanks guys. I might give the first one a try in public. I like #1 too. I can't really tell from the picture, but have you had that blazer custom tailored to your body? I know at my secret location in NYC it's only $30 to custom tailor a blazer. It's the BEST money I've ever spent on my blazers. Feminine Style . Masculine Soul. Skin In The Game.
Korbach Posted July 4, 2012 Posted July 4, 2012 Loving the rocker look buddy, masculine and HOT Wow, the 'rocker look' is great! Leather pants and Boots a hot combination.
JeffB Posted July 31, 2012 Posted July 31, 2012 found this picture on flickr http://www.flickr.com/photos/dewbridge/6397345355/sizes/l/in/photostream/ Well, now. Isn't that interesting! Love the boots! And that skirt he wore was certainly daring! Even I'D think twice before wearing something that short! I don't want to LOOK like a woman, I just want to DRESS like a woman!
Shafted Posted July 31, 2012 Posted July 31, 2012 I can't really tell if that is a skirt or shorts he's wearing, but it doesn't really matter. Skirt or shorts, they do not go very well with that jacket. Boots are okay, a bit too much wrinkle in the shaft. I'd accept that at the ankle but not on the calf. Shafted, the boots that is! kneehighs Posted August 1, 2012 Author Posted August 1, 2012 Kudos to the guy for having the courage to at least step outside and do his own thing. Christmas Time though and bare legs? Not even women do that. Feminine Style . Masculine Soul. Skin In The Game.
JeffB Posted August 1, 2012 Posted August 1, 2012 Kudos to the guy for having the courage to at least step outside and do his own thing. Yes indeed. He certainly was plenty bold. Gotta hand it to him for that. I don't want to LOOK like a woman, I just want to DRESS like a woman!
