For the day we were the hottest place on earth. (Presumably one that has a temperature station) only 42.4 deg over my way near coast. Regards James

Sydheel Posted January 10, 2018 Author Posted January 10, 2018 Another day, phew heading out western Sydney on train. Wearing my nine west ankle boots with the heel bling. Im not a great fan of the silver bling but it would costs lots to get it cut off. these boots have a 12cm heel with 1cm platform. 5 Regards James
jeremy1986 Posted January 10, 2018 Posted January 10, 2018 They look great, James. I too would prefer them w/o the bling, but as you say, sometimes worth just keeping it. Not too hot for boots? 1
Steve63130 Posted January 10, 2018 Posted January 10, 2018 It would be easy to paint it black if it bothers you, but I think it looks fine. Or you could paint the boots silver... Steve 1
Cali Posted January 11, 2018 Posted January 11, 2018 Give it time, it will grow on you. You will grow to love it. Trust me. 1 1
Shyheels Posted January 11, 2018 Posted January 11, 2018 (edited) Trust me too. I'm a journalist. (although, like you, James, I don't care for the bling) Edited January 11, 2018 by Shyheels 1
Sydheel Posted January 11, 2018 Author Posted January 11, 2018 I took it my local shoe repair place. 2 options, well 3 really (do nothing is 1) snip them and use a dremel or similar to cut it as close as possible unscrew heel, remove bling and re attach heel 1st is cheapest but not a good job. 2nd is $50 pair so not too bad I will continue to ponder Regards James
Shyheels Posted January 11, 2018 Posted January 11, 2018 Well, you’ll end up with a nice pair of boots either way!
Cali Posted January 11, 2018 Posted January 11, 2018 Bling is hard, I can live with some, but if I think a shoe has too much, I just wont try it on to begin with. I have "bling" on several pairs. At first I was put off by the bling. I learned to love the gold bling on my Cathy Jeans booties. The hardware (bling) on other pairs are hidden most of the time, but I have had women come up to me and tell they like the details. 1
Ruby John Posted January 11, 2018 Posted January 11, 2018 If I don't like the bling I would paint it same color as shoe and then it is much toned down. Good Luck Ruby John
Steve63130 Posted January 12, 2018 Posted January 12, 2018 Bling on the back isn't a problem. Bling on the front could be, if you don't like attention. Bling attracts the eye and says "look at me!" It is more prominent on front as you walk into the room; as you walk out and people see bling at your back, it shouldn't matter. Trust Cali. I think he knows what he's talking about. Leave the bling alone. I like it, and you will, too. Give yourself time. Steve
