kneehighs
HERE is a picture of a girl from Moscow and Lithuania. The Lithuanian was surprised to see my pumps, but in a good way. She wanted a picture right away to which I agreed. Interested in my stilettos! "Must get picture" I went to a bar in the basement of Vento. At the door, they were exercising a strict door policy for want of a "private party" The door woman looked me over and at first was hesitant to let me in. She asked me to send a text to my friends to ask them to come to the door and escort me in. I said I downgrade the SIM card in my phone from one phone to another phone on weekends so I don't get endless emails during weekends. Then she saw my stilettos. Her eyes grew large and excitedly she asked, "What size shoe do you wear? 12? 13?" I told her 11. Immediately she opened the door and said, "Skinny jeans and stilettos!" Good night overall. EDIT: One interesting incident happened when the the blonde in this photo walked past me. I was standing by a doorway and she walked right in front of me and opened the conversation with, "I'm wearing 4" stilettos...I saw you look down" and she motioned by pointing her eyes to the floor. Needless to say, I said, "I'm wearing 4" stilettos too!" She bent down to look at my pumps, stood up, and laughed! We wound up talking for a few minutes. When I left the club and was standing on the sidewalk I started snapping candid pics of her. Then she walked over to me and asked for a picture, so we did the usual pointy toe comparison for her. kneehighs
A few pics for you guys from the Mercedes Benz Fashion Week. These pics were taken inside the Bryant Park tent between the Nicole Miller show and Venexiana show, both of which I was fortunate enough to have runway invites for. The red head is a photographer. The girl sitting down kept looking at me. I was asking other people if it was okay if I took their pics...guess she found that entertaining. Would have been more fun if I had asked her for a pic and took a close up of her shoes. The last pic was taken just for fun. She was working a WWD sales booth Sorry for the duplicate post, I couldn't figure out how to do an edit and add an additional picture from inside the edit box. Anyhow, here is a picture of designer Nicole Miller at the end of her show. For those of you who are curious, a runway show starts usually 30-45 minutes after schedule (late) and usually lasts only 7-10 minutes. It takes months of preplanning and painstaking preparation to put one together. As well, there are usually freebies given out. I was lucky to snag myself a couple of new pillows, free espresso, and artsy notepads today. Feminine Style . Masculine Soul. Skin In The Game. kneehighs
Last night was an incredible evening. want-hh is in town from Buenos Aires visiting NYC for two weeks. We had dinner in the Meat Packing District, walked to Soho and enjoyed a night club there, and then walked back uptown to 26th street before parting ways. For beginning the night at 8 and ending at 4:15, it was quite an evening. I was in typical evening attire: 4" pumps, Hugo Boss straight leg jeans, grey tunic tshirt, and Calvin Klein satin sport jacket. When meeting for dinner at One, they arrived first and were smart to tell the Maître d' that they would be sitting at the bar waiting for my arrival. What a pleasant first impression I formed upon first meeting them. want-hh and his SO are both clean cut, well mannered, professionals that both exude characteristic Porteño warmth. We were promptly escorted to our table where the discussion predictably centered around how want-hh introduced his interest in heels to his SO, how she responded to that information, and how Buenos Aires isn't exactly a great place for freestyling. After sharing a delicious bottle of Monterey Pinot Noir and finishing our Tuna and Italian meals, we headed to the bar for another round of drinks. At around 12:30 we decided to head to Soho to a club called Sway, made famous by it's clientelle from Misshapes. The walk through the Meat Packing District, West Village, and Northern part of Soho allowed them to discover parts of NYC that they hadn't yet seen. The walk was probably the most pleasant part of the evening as it allowed want-hh to really express his desire to wear heels publically, openly and in what he described as a "surreal" experience. Neither of us ever received any comments and a few pictures were taken, most of which are on want-hh's camera. Another friendship was born as a result of this forum and the courage to step out and meet another freestyler. Both want-hh and his girlfriend are excellent representations of our community and friends I am proud to now know. Feminine Style . Masculine Soul. Skin In The Game. kneehighs
johnieheel Thanks for the compliment. want hh, his girlfriend and I went out again last weekend. Now that he is back in Buenos Aires, he has had time to review his pictures he took of our outings. Here are a couple of pictures he took of me. In the first picture, you can see that I was wearing skinny pants from Inc. and 4" Nine West pumps. You can see the two girls to the left of me in the picture were also wearing pumps. Naturally I opened with, "Something is wrong with this picture (and simultaneously pointed down at my shoes)...my shoes are pointier than yours...(and held my shoe near the girl wearing the black pumps)" Her response was simple , "Want to switch?" I left the conversation at that and walked back to want hh and his SO. In the second picture, you can see I am enjoying a conversation with two professionals. One worked for Conde Nast, the parent company to Vogue. They broke the ice with me and both said my heels were "fierce". Nothing happened further than that. But it does demonstrate that heels are mere background experience for the third party observer and really no big deal. Feminine Style . Masculine Soul. Skin In The Game. Thanks for your reply. It wasn't my purpose to learn if you established any "long term" relationships. I was just curious to see if any of the contacts were sincere, based on your personality and male attributes, or based entirely on the fact that you aroused their interest because you were wearing heels. Actually, it's one thing to respond positively to a guy wearing heels while in a crowded social setting but entirely different to maintain the positive attitude beyond the initial meeting (after the guy moves on or the club closes, so to speak). Being mentally comfortable in your own mind is the key to wearing heels in public.
