HeelD Posted September 11, 2006 Posted September 11, 2006 Here's what I wore today (Sunday) around my home town. These pics were taken along St. Giles - a major throughfare in Oxford City Centre. And the alluring pose (suggested by other half - we have more) ... Brown T-shirt - Celio (Paris) Jeans - Cherokee Red Ballet Flats - New Look Black Bag - Matalan (as yesterday) Heel-D - Freestyling since 2005
kneehighs Posted September 11, 2006 Author Posted September 11, 2006 Heel-D Wow, red ballet shoes in public with strangers in the pics. Good for you! Great food for the freestyling soul. This guy isn't one of us. This pic was pulled from http://www.stilinberlin.blogspot.com I find his style simple, basic, and moderately feminine. His style does however, in my humble opinion, lend itself to successful incorporation of heels (or boots) with the whole outfit. Feminine Style . Masculine Soul. Skin In The Game.
Elegant Posted September 11, 2006 Posted September 11, 2006 I guess he pulled it off really nicely. Very androgynous (I wish I looked that Beatliful ). What is good for a goose, can be good for any gender!
HeelD Posted September 11, 2006 Posted September 11, 2006 I certainly had fun wearing them! The guy above certainly would look good in heels. Here's another person from the Fashion Spot who would fit in with our Freestyle Philosophy: This is VICTIM. Notice how this outfit is just crying out for heels! I think he looks very androgynous anyway and heels (or some form of ballet flats) would really work with this outfit. The same goes for this guy as well: This sphoxx - also from the Fashion Spot. Again the look is androgynous to a degree and heels (or ballet flats) would compliment this overall look. Heel-D - Freestyling since 2005
kneehighs Posted September 11, 2006 Author Posted September 11, 2006 Heel-D So Sherlock, you actually figured out who VICTIM is! Good job. I agree, he would look great with heels. The ribboned neckpiece and low cut cardigan are indeed andro. Here are a few repeat outfits of mine, but with the skinny pant twist: ALL OUTFITS: Hugo Boss t-shirt Cloak vest INC. skinny pants Nine West 'botamy' boots or Stuart Weitzman 'sensual' pumps various jewelery pieces as pictured in another post In my opinion, the above outfits are probably the closest that I could come right now to satisfying the stringent requirements of the fashion set over at TFS. I know from various pms, that the skinny pants with boots underneath could work. I think the closer I can get to being androgynous, the easier it would be to pull off stilettos. The second outfit is what I wore today, sans the heels. I really, really would love to pull off the third outfit. There's something magical about pumps for me. His style does however, in my humble opinion, lend itself to successful incorporation of heels (or boots) with the whole outfit. Yeah, I'm not so sure, kneehighs. I've always seen male heelwear as a masculine thing, with a minority of feminine adventures. Personally, as a blatent heterosexual, I see any feminization of the wear of heels by men as a threat to my masculinity. Call me old-fashioned (like, by 400 years) but hey - that's where I'm at.
kneehighs Posted September 11, 2006 Author Posted September 11, 2006 dr1819 As they say, "beauty is in the eye of the beholder." I think the reason I find skinny pants one good way to pull off heels for men is because that is how Rick Owens and Hedi Slimane of Dior Homme presented their models on the runway--in chunky heels too. Additionally, its how I've been advised to pull the look off from various people at the TFS. Plus, there is a fashion photographer who took a pic of the guy for a streetstyle thread. He is in skinny pants and block heels. I totally respect your position though and would never ask for you to compromise your fashion integrity. You are my friend and I value that more than a differing opinion. Feminine Style . Masculine Soul. Skin In The Game.
NewfieGuyInHeels Posted September 11, 2006 Posted September 11, 2006 Here's a pic of me in my new 3 1/4 blade heel croc print boots, slim leg boot cut jeans, and a screen print T. Hope you like? Laters! http://s77.photobucket.com/albums/j78/darthraze/
kneehighs Posted September 11, 2006 Author Posted September 11, 2006 Newfie The oblique toe on those is perfect! Great pair of shoes. And with those jeans which fit you well, I can see you singing your way down the street while freestyling. Feminine Style . Masculine Soul. Skin In The Game.
NewfieGuyInHeels Posted September 11, 2006 Posted September 11, 2006 Singing ??? Okay.... But thanks for the comments! http://s77.photobucket.com/albums/j78/darthraze/

NewfieGuyInHeels Posted September 11, 2006 Posted September 11, 2006 Thanks, I have tons of shirts with sayings on them like that. I'm bid on screen T's. http://s77.photobucket.com/albums/j78/darthraze/
kneehighs Posted September 15, 2006 Author Posted September 15, 2006 Here's a couple of more progressive and experimental outfits. This is not an "LL Bean, dressed up" style. I still like the blazer, pants, and stiletto look...but thats casual chic, and I am going for something different here. These are a bit more mod, daring, and maybe too progressive for some people's taste. Either way it was fun putting them together. Sorry about the lighting...I am still mastering my new digital camera. #1 #2 All photographs appearing on this site under the username of kneehighs are the property of kneehighs. Fog Posted September 15, 2006 Posted September 15, 2006 And the alluring pose (suggested by other half - we have more) ... Cute pose Heel-D. Actually it's very ambiguous and that's the strength of the photo. On first glance it looks as if you're cuddling up to the lamp post, but on a further look you can see the power in the arms pushing against it.
Fog Posted September 15, 2006 Posted September 15, 2006 Personally, as a blatent heterosexual, I see any feminization of the wear of heels by men as a threat to my masculinity. dr1819 That's a shame. I can't see how what other guys do threatens you or your masculinity in any way. I'm sure people judge you on your merits, not on the merit or lack of merit in others.

kneehighs Posted September 16, 2006 Author Posted September 16, 2006 fogborkenvv I think Im going to give this outfit a test run at the nyc meet. If not sooner with some lower heels. Shafted Thanks. I think it could work too. Heel-D Thanks. As far as your question in the Real Life Meets thread, I did wear kneehigh boots with shorts to a club on two occassions, which you can read about HERE It was about two years before you joined the forum if I am not mistaken. No problem. Interesting read. Sounds like a cool club. About the outfit, it would definitely work with kitten/low heels or ballet flats as well as stillettos. Heel-D - Freestyling since 2005
canadianbeaver17 Posted September 16, 2006 Posted September 16, 2006 That one guy with the tank and scarf...not a bad style. I would loose the scarf on me though. Heel-D..love the red flats. I'm a fan of fun colored shoes with a normal outfit. I do red or turquoise flip flops someties with like flare jeans and a tight black top. People love it. guys and girl. Kneehigh...interesting look. I'm not a fan of skinny jeans, but the look is something you should consider.
HeelD Posted September 18, 2006 Posted September 18, 2006 CB17 - thanks for the compliments. I do love those shoes!! I went into Cardiff City Centre with my girlfriend this Sunday and I wore: Blue Gingham Shirt - Charles Tyrwhitt (Oxfam charity store find - I think this shirt is from a proper shirt maker) Blue Jeans - Trader Brown Belt - Another Charity store find (Dunno what brand it is) Brown Ballet Flats - Cherokee Black Bag - Matalan We took these shots opposite the Hilton, with the City Hall (I think) behind us: Before anyone asks about this last one, that bag is my girlfriend's! We thought it'd be a fun photo to take... All in all a great day. I certainly had a couple of double takes but apart from that we had fun going around the stores. It really does get easier. When I get some time soon at home, I'll get some more outfits up on here for you to see - certainly some more heels! Heel-D - Freestyling since 2005
kneehighs Posted September 19, 2006 Author Posted September 19, 2006 Heel-D Love the shirt! It has a great energy and the color of the jeans matches well with it. You wear the whole outfit with class and confidence. Feminine Style . Masculine Soul. Skin In The Game.
HeelD Posted September 19, 2006 Posted September 19, 2006 ^ Cheers man! I got a nice compliment on the Fashion Spot as well. Heel-D - Freestyling since 2005

kneehighs Posted September 21, 2006 Author Posted September 21, 2006 Q.) Okay and not that this matters, but what do the two guys at the Fashion Spot that have pulled off heels have in common with each other? A.) Alejandro and BryanBoy both have an androgynous outward appearance. And facehunter, a fashion photo blogger, captured this moment on his blogspot: http://facehunter.blogspot.com/ Granted it could be woman with her breasts flattened down like they did in the 20's. But this is likely--and I could be wrong-- an adventurous man having some fun. And true, you can barely see if there is a heel, but look at the arch on his foot and look how high the heel on his foot is compared to his toes... Feminine Style . Masculine Soul. Skin In The Game.

How is the fit? They look very sensual.
kneehighs Posted September 23, 2006 Author Posted September 23, 2006 pumpmarstar Thanks for the compliment. Funny you should say they look very "sensual" as that is their exact name as prescribed by Stuart Weitzman. Their fit is a comfortable 12, with a perfect "snug factor" that keeps my heels in the shoes when I walk. Feminine Style . Masculine Soul. Skin In The Game.
admirer5577 Posted September 23, 2006 Posted September 23, 2006 kneehighs: I, together with many others, appreciate your efforts in arranging heel meets regularly. And I would love to come to yet another heel meet in NYC for Halloween 2007 but can't really give an answer yet, it is more than a year away. Or have you maybe just made a typing error........ smile Looking forward to see you again in 5 weeks from now. Hopefully I have some new boots with me, am expecting some three more pairs, all stiletto heeled, to arrive in 1-2 weeks. And I hope to get some more "plain" looking boots with more of a block heel look too. /admirer
kneehighs Posted September 23, 2006 Author Posted September 23, 2006 ^ admirer5577 Good catch! LOL, its changed to 2006 now. Thanks. Hope you enjoy your new boots...bring an outfit to "dress to impress" for Friday night. Feminine Style . Masculine Soul. Skin In The Game.
