HappyinHeels
Hi All, I can't tell how to do an actual poll so I'll pose this question to you all. What tends to your favorite place to wear your heels in public?? A) On the street while shopping At Shopping Malls C) At Shoe Stores D) Eating Out E) The movies or real theatre F) Some other place I am always intrigued by the stories of our members all over the world but am curious where our passions lie. Of this list my personal favorite is at shopping malls but all are appealing. HappyinHeels:wave:
RonC
Well, I've worn my 3" block heel loafers to department stores, malls, shoe stores, etc. I tend to pick places where I don't need to sit, as I tend to wear long pants that cover the heels and prefer them not to be on display. Haven't done the restaurant or movie type stuff yet. We'll see.
Shafted
I've worn stiletto pumps and boots to jury duty, stores, banks, other countries and to work. I work in a movie theatre that also does live performances. It's a place where I see alot of the same people time and time again. Many have displayed a keen interest in my choice of footwear. When the subject of my footwear comes up, I'm only too happy to talk about it. Shafted, the boots that is! NewfieGuyInHeels
Anywhere really. I don't wear them if I know I'll be on my feet all day. But if I'm just going to the mall, or to a movie, or like tonight me and my fiance are having a date night cause she's going out of town with her mom for the weekend. We're going out to dinner and then we'll prolly walk the mall after. And yes, I do plan on sitting where my feet can be seen. I am way past the point I give a damn what ppl think and I love seeing the reactions of ppl when they notice my heels, and then the reactions of the same ppl when they notice me laughing at them noticing lol. And just cause I would be dying to know if someone else made this post, here's the boots i'll be wearing. http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j78/darthraze/boots20.jpg http://s77.photobucket.com/albums/j78/darthraze/

Heelster
All of the venues are viable - - just not in my home location. If I'm out of town, or far enough away that local acquaintances are not likely to see me, I have had no problems wearing high heeled boots all day doing just about anything. I have yet to wear a high heeled pump style out and about yet, but I'm planning on it soon.
hhboots
My favorites for sure are wearing heels to the mall, and I also really enjoy the occasions when I get to go to a music concert. I guess I get a little bit of an extra charge when there are so many people around, but there is so much going on, that almost nobody notices you. I know it's pretty much counter-intuitive, but honestly the larger the crowds, and the more commotion is going on, the less likely anyone will even pay any attention to you. You are more likely to be noticed and get unwelcome attention when you go healing where very few people are around. So yeah, large concerts are my fav (but happen less frequently), then shopping malls (which I can do just about any time I want).
Jkrenzer
Every place I would normally go I go with heels as well. At 48, I just don't care so much anymore what others think, a general trend I have noticed here with others.

I have been to just about everywhere in this area and never had an issue yet. I can understand your worries though. To answer the question I wear where ever I want as long as it is some where it would be appropriate. If that makes sense.
Heel-Lover
Hi All, All the listed places are fine. As others have rightly stated, a busy environment is actually 'easier' and you learn that its all about your own self confidence. I've worn pumps in all the listed places, even in some red-neck pubs/bars when I've been travelling across country and its surprising how little negativity I get (hardly ever happens). I also wear skirts with heels so I present a polarised picture, top half/ bottom half thing going on ... but I've really learnt its all about my self confidence above all else. Cheers Heel-Lover
ilikekicks
Honestly.. ' wherever Im headding '. Im not a ' heels every day ' type of guy, just when *I* want or if the other half asks/insinuates. I really dont see it as a ' big deal ' anymore. It was a ' kick ' that became something ' normal ' to me. REPEATEDLY ARGUMENTATIVE, INSULTING AND RUDE. BANNED FOR LIFE. shirazmn
Last week I was in San Francisco. Bought a pair of block heeled boots (3") and wore them immediately... nobody ever gave a second look. London, where I live, is quite a good place if you go downtown. The only risk, there, is that if your shoes are too nice, the next day somebody will copy your style. jwhite44
I think this question depends on your heeling attitude. If you are completely open about it, then it's probably, "at any place, around any one, at any time". Certainly there are a number of posters on this board that fit into this category. If you're into more discreet heeling, THEN I think these choices start to come into play. I agree with some of the other posters who commented that busier, more crowded places can tend to work better. I know it can seem counter-intuitive ("I want to go to an empty place where NO one will see me..."). But those places are extremely rare. In a busy place, the chances of you sticking out or drawing attention when so many others are around is small. Personally Fall/Winter is the best time for me. At least where I live, it's darker sooner, and cooler. My preferred outfit is a pair of block-heel ankle boots under long-length jeans, not likely to stick out. Plus, when you add in holiday shopping, and the extra crowds, when there are a lot more people out, typically with their own incentive to complete their shopping and get out of the crowds, to me it makes it that mich easier to go out. Guest
oh I'd say usually @ the local mall or @ the movies is where I like to go heeling in boots (the demonia platform boots mostly cause my feet feel better for more walking around, if I'm going to be wearing heels for any length of time)
CassieJ
Last night I went to Giordano's Pizza in my 6" Lita's from Jeffery Campbell and my long jeans. The place was fully packed but I don't think anyone even noticed. Even at our booth, a huge table of people on vacation were more consumed with each other than looking around at other tables. In this situation, I often cross my legs so my shoes show better from the booth but still no one saw. A woman at a nearby table caught my attention with her 5" black patent peep toes with a big bow on the top. My wife loved them too. Overall, an uneventful night in heels. JeffB
A) On the street while shopping----YES! At Shopping Malls----YES! C) At Shoe Stores----YES! (just Payless though) D) Eating Out----YES! (fast food joints) E) The movies or real theatre----YES! (movie theaters) F) Some other place----YES! (museums, casinos) I've been to many places and done many things while wearing heels (and, on occasion, skirts), all in broad daylight, and it's great fun! I don't want to LOOK like a woman, I just want to DRESS like a woman!
Steve63130
I'm with JeffB on this, but I have to add that the most fun I've had wearing heels in public was last June at the Walk a Mile in Her Shoes event in Columbus, with 380 other people (mostly guys) in heels! It was a hoot, and even my wife, who approves of my wearing but is conservative, had a good time! Public wearing is great, but public wearing with lots of others was fabulous!
