barney15c Posted March 9, 2010 Posted March 9, 2010 Suprisingly from payless, check the inward curve of the heel!! They call it a 'Bullhorn Heel' http://www.payless.com/store/product/detail.jsp?skuId=076702070&productId=66985&subCatId=cat10243&catId=cat10088&lotId=076702&category=&catdisplayName=Womens+ In the land of the blind, the one eyed man is king!!!
Iamme Posted March 9, 2010 Posted March 9, 2010 While those are certainly eye catching, I don't think those are my cup of tea.
hhboots Posted March 9, 2010 Posted March 9, 2010 Very unique, especially considering its payless. But have to agree, not something I would be interested in.
dww Posted March 9, 2010 Posted March 9, 2010 What will they think of next, totally silly if you ask me. life is not a rehearsal
Dr. Shoe Posted March 9, 2010 Posted March 9, 2010 I'm sure it would break? Graduate footwear designer able to advise and assist on modification and shoe making projects.
JeffB Posted March 9, 2010 Posted March 9, 2010 Well, to paraphrase Bill Walton, those shoes are HORRRRRRRRIBLE!! I don't want to LOOK like a woman, I just want to DRESS like a woman!

Simcity3 Posted March 9, 2010 Posted March 9, 2010 haha they must be among the ugliest heels i ever seen:P http://meinheels.wordpress.com/
RonC Posted March 9, 2010 Posted March 9, 2010 And to think that someone will actually find those attractive and be seen in public with them on....that scares me!
Dawn HH Posted March 10, 2010 Posted March 10, 2010 Ugly then and ugly now. Certainly not for me, no way. It's pretty bad when even the girls don't like that design of heel. Cheers--- Dawn HH High Heeled Boots Forever!
bladerunner Posted March 10, 2010 Posted March 10, 2010 I dont know why (and before you read on i am not sizeist!) but they really look like a rather large 'person' and i mean large......(see no sexism either!) has tried them on a squashed/buckled the heel rendering the whole 'shoe' look to be,shall we say spoilt...!!!! some what!!! sadly not my style......... I just love those suede heels!!!!!
Gary Posted March 10, 2010 Posted March 10, 2010 I'm afraid that style is destined for the BARGAIN, PRICE REDUCED rack!
roniheels Posted March 10, 2010 Posted March 10, 2010 Looks like the result of three designers mixed together. I wouldn't want a pair. But thanks for sharing with us.
barney15c Posted March 10, 2010 Author Posted March 10, 2010 absolutely .....the heel reminded me a bit of those alexander mcqueen boots , the ones that lady gaga wore. If you took away the heel and replaced with something more conventional they wouldnt look to bad...as it is damn ugly! In the land of the blind, the one eyed man is king!!!
FXHH Posted March 10, 2010 Posted March 10, 2010 something went horribly wrong there, normally things like that are a matter of personal choice and taste, and quiet often can understand that some things will appeal to some people, however in this case, can make no sense or logic, maybe its meant to be shoe art, although still think and hope it does not catch on!!
BobHH Posted March 10, 2010 Posted March 10, 2010 I'm with Dr. Shoe. That "reverse" curve in the heel produces lots of bending stress, though the heel looks solid enough to take it. The conventional stiletto is shaped so most of the load is compression, the strongest direction for resisting stress. Stilettos usually break from bending, though the ones with steel rods are pretty strong.
Regen Posted March 10, 2010 Posted March 10, 2010 I am definitely going to have to agree with all of you. They are not pretty. They get a point from me for uniqueness, most certainly not sexiness.
hoverfly Posted March 10, 2010 Posted March 10, 2010 I say they are Bull $Hit, and not for 80 bucks. Hello,  my name is Hoverfly. I’m a high heel addict…. Weeeeeeeeeee!  👠1998 to 2022!
chris100575 Posted March 10, 2010 Posted March 10, 2010 I don't like them either. They're not winning any popularity contests are they?
Dawn HH Posted March 11, 2010 Posted March 11, 2010 I'll bet that they hit the sales racks early and then maybe very few people will want them even then. The stores may end up being stuck with a lot of unsaleable pairs. Cheers--- Dawn HH High Heeled Boots Forever!
jetheelsfan Posted March 13, 2010 Posted March 13, 2010 The page now comes up as no longer available. Just a bit higher to to delight - low enough for healthy foot comfort and great beginning.
troipattes Posted March 14, 2010 Posted March 14, 2010 Hi everybody Ahhhh... what is beautiful and what is ugly or disgusting... Anyway, I bought my wife these McQueen heels and she is really cute with them !

Cheers--- Dawn HH Actually - I would suggest that they are copies of Alexander McQueen's 'Armadillo' shoes: http://www.eyeslipsface.co.uk/blog.asp?blog_id=65 - and of course tragically, he died very recently - so they have probably sold out because people want something as a reminder. avidsiman Posted March 20, 2010 Posted March 20, 2010 I think people are overreacting here. Structurally the heel is sound as the heel tip, arch, and relative placement for each are the same as on any other high heel. It just looks weird because you're used to seeing the heel curve the other direction. The shoe looks bigger because of it, but if you cover up the heel and look at the remaining part of the shoe, it doesn't look like anything unusual and probably no more/less difficult to walk in. I don't think it's the best looking shoe, but I don't rate it as ugly either. just takes a little getting used to.
