I get a kick out pricing. I bought these boots right off Nine West's web sight. I had watched them on and off most of the winter. They never varied off the regular price, at least not much, then the were $79 and they paid the shipping so I grabbed them. Looked again this week, on sale for $149.

    Now that's satisfaction!!

One ((bad) opportunity for reopening this subject

Today I had to fly from Paris( Orly,an airport I don’t like) fo Madrid.

Before boarding I bought a coffee and sat close to the counter I got it.

I heard a male voice at the coffee counter saying  to his female coworker: “ the world is turning wrong side, look at the shoes of this guy!” She didn’t answer,or I didn’t heard. Then 5  minutes later he called a guy from the security, probably a friend of him( and same physical aspect) and said  very loudly:” look at the shoes of that guy” Again I wasn’t able to hear the answer.

I didn’t move, did show any trouble, kept on reading my book after I had finished the coffee

Not a big deal. But for sure not encouraging because that kind of guys is now quite common in some places of Paris. Where I never go.

But that it is the first time is happens to me in an airport

So,yes sometimes wearing heels need courage!

the shoes were the ones  you can see on the picture. Brown  14 block heels

So sorry to hear... as you say - you are above them, and thankfully - this is a small minority.

really great boots, as others have said!

How can you walk in 6 inch or more difference in between the sole and the heel?

I tried to walk with those waders but was unable to

@jeremy1986 could you please ask your wife why she uses that ‘French shoes’ expression

i am French and have no idea what it could be.

    Pierre

will see if I can get it into conversation.... (she said it like 2 years ago... but i still remember it!)  - I think she just meant kind of non-standard, more fashionable/stylish shoe, rather than one's more casual loafer or sports show, which are so common...

I'm back with something new.  I haven't posted in a while.  I have been getting out though.  But these days my outings are less newsworthy than they use to be.  Not much usually happens these days.  So unless something happens during my outings I usually don't feel the need to post every single one of them.  Nothing much happened this time either.  My outing today was sparked by a new pair of boots I bought and the need to wear them out as soon as possible!

Whenever I have a day off from work I have certain shops and places I visit.  Today was no exception.  I was in a local thrift shop and purchased a pair of ankle boots.  They fit perfectly!  I knew I wanted to give them an audience right away!  The wheels were already turining in my head as I tried to figure out what I would wear them with.  It didn't take me long to figure it out though.  These days I can come up with nearly an entire outfit in my head pretty easily.  After dinner I decided to head out.

My outing was brief.  It consisted of me and my laptop for a couple of hours of web surfing complete with a delicious hot chocolate to satisfy my sweet tooth.  Now lets get to point of this post and give an outfit rundown complete with pics.

    The Outfit
    1) Costa Blanca brand grey ankle booties with 4.25" heel
    2) Tattoo Jeans dark wash skinny jeans
    3) Purple sweater
    4) grey and black Reitmans brand tie up coat
    5) purple Grace Adele Handbag

@Mr. X - I could actually hear @JeffB's voice in your story telling here ;-)

Couple of nice pairs there Jeremy, as much as I love heels you can’t beat a pair of flats on odd occasions and you’re right about the feeling of OTK’s, just something about them you can’t explain, do you wear them out and about or just at home?

    Thanks mate!

I don't wear them out... but would consider it maybe (not over my jeans though... ), and even my wife has commented that they probably wont get much notice and can pass as men's "French shoes" (her words)

As previously said, I think that you didn’t need a long time for this deliberation!

its really impressive how much « just  » a pair of shoes can change the overall look! That’s one of the reason of my heel loving!

By the way they looks great with your jeans, you must enjoy your day wearing them !

hehe - thanks. and yes - I don't enjoy wearing them a lot, and the right shoes can really make the outfit, as you say (make or break!)

I have quite a few pairs of boots - wish I could just pick, choose and wear more often, but the circumstances  are just not suitable, for various reasons (it is what it is)

  9. Today was (still is) a day for some flat boots with my skinny (skinnyish...) jeans....

The black OTK is a pair from ASOS I have had for almost 2 years (to the day, in fact). The wife got a matching pair in "hazelnut brown", but has since given them to me, as they tend to slip down, and that annoys her. I love the feel of an OTK boot that goes so high and pulls on the jeans and legs beneath

The brown pair is my wife's - you can see the leather needs a bit of attention, but being leather, they have a delightful lining inside, which makes them a pleasure to wear - warm and cosy. My wife says they are the favourite pair.

I love the casual look and feel (even though its no substitute for heels, right!) - as well as the hollow sound as I walk, so different to the solid noise of high heels.

Really?..lol. With those great stiletto boots I am sure it did take much deliberating. Enjoy your morning!

hehe - so true!  Hope all's well, enjoy yours too (afternoon I guess, by now?)

If you try walking like that with a stilletto boot on one foot and a loafer on the other it will be very uncomfortable:)

Do it in public and people will, reasonably, think you're crazy:)

    :-)

Jeremy, that's not how you do Perfectly MisMatch. Since you didn't say what you need to do today, use the runners to mow your lawn and the stilettos to go dancing.

hehe - I like your thinking!

Don’t think there’s much to deliberate there mate, i think you know which one I’d go for, wouldn’t mind a day’s shopping in those black boots

Agreed... and I think you know which one I chose too!

Thanks for the replies, I enjoyed the responses. I'm not planning anymore outings for the near future. As you may know, my mom has been in poor health the last few months & she was finally called home Tuesday morning. She passed peacefully in her sleep with me & my sister by her side...

So sorry to hear @chesterx… wishing you all the best :-(
