BBLoverEric Posted July 25, 2005 Posted July 25, 2005 I was just curious as to what height are you guys normally? For the tall ones who wear tall heels, does ducking become a big issue? I was wonderring what may be the average height on this site so the more input, the better.
Bubba136 Posted July 25, 2005 Posted July 25, 2005 Same here, 5'!10" tall and the "average height" of the heels I wear must measure out to be around 2 3/4" when you take the lowest heels and the highest heels together. Being mentally comfortable in your own mind is the key to wearing heels in public.

Under a german standard 2 meter door frame 3.5'' heels are no real problem for me. On higher heels I have to be careful but I have a stubborn and resistant head micha The best fashion is your own fashion!

Dawn HH Posted July 25, 2005 Posted July 25, 2005 5' 4.5" in stocking feet and with 4" heels...no problem with doorways. Cheers--- Dawn HH High Heeled Boots Forever!

BobHH Posted July 25, 2005 Posted July 25, 2005 6 ft. 2 in. Doorways are no problem, a little bit of clearance with the 6.5 in. platform heels. But I have been places with less clearance than that!
JeffB Posted July 25, 2005 Posted July 25, 2005 I'm 6-2 barefoot and routinely wear four and five inch heels. For the most part, doorways aren't much of a problem for me. I don't want to LOOK like a woman, I just want to DRESS like a woman!
Thighbootguy Posted July 25, 2005 Posted July 25, 2005 I'm 6' and I wear 3.5" - 5" stilettos. The world looks differently at 6'5". I dream of a world where chickens can cross roads without having their motives questioned.
luxxyheels Posted July 25, 2005 Posted July 25, 2005 6'. I usually wear 3.5-5" heels w/ some sort of nylon. Doorways aren't a prob .
sexyplatforms Posted July 25, 2005 Posted July 25, 2005 I'm 6' 2" and often have to duck and weave to avoid lampshades / doorframes (especially when I've got my 8.5" platforms on!). SP.
asdf174 Posted July 25, 2005 Posted July 25, 2005 I'm about 5"11. Sometimes I have to duck when I'm wearing my 6.5" plats. It's all good. ~Arron.
BBLoverEric Posted July 25, 2005 Author Posted July 25, 2005 WOW, people are a lot taller than I had expected. I'm 5'9.5", 5'10" on a good day but I'm starteing to grow into my feet, I think. I haven't hit that growth spurt that everyone talks about yet, at least I don't think I have. I was just wonderring if men wearing heels had anything to do with wanting to be taller but I see that's shot out the window.
taliheels Posted July 25, 2005 Posted July 25, 2005 i think im very lucky at 5ft 6inches- which is great for hheel wearing, and as im very slim dont look like a midget if your into the goddess look then a 6ft plus will be happy with their height also

My father was 6' tall, me already 6' 4'' and my twenty years old nephew has a body height of more than 6' 8''. If he should like to cultivate the same "hobby" as his uncle, he would get a serious problem with door frames Some of the turkish boys in my neighbourhood have broken the 6 feet barrier too. Just some days ago I have seen a guy who had the same height as me. I wouldn't be very astonished if I should meet a young Japanese or Chinese just as tall as me ... micha By the way: I have just conquered a pair of stylish rosé coloured italian 4'' stiletto boots in my size EU 44/45. Now I'm pondering if it was because of the growing female foot sizes or because of the growing male demand The best fashion is your own fashion!
Bubba136 Posted July 27, 2005 Posted July 27, 2005 Probably a little bit of both, micha. Women are also growing larger these days. Also, African women usually have bigger and wider feet than smaller average European women. So, if your area has a large ethnic population of larger women, there will be larger shoe sizes available for sale to suit them (market forces). Being mentally comfortable in your own mind is the key to wearing heels in public.
Firefox Posted July 27, 2005 Posted July 27, 2005 5 foot 8 1.73m If you are interested in heights there is another thread somewhere on this topic with several pages of responses.

tuckedintoboots Posted July 28, 2005 Posted July 28, 2005 well, I'm only 5-7 (without heels) but when I wear my black demonia platform sandals I'm about 6 inches taller! I also have the good luck of having a womens size 9/mens size 7,so I always can find my correct fit. men still look good with pants tucked into the right boots!
sexyplatforms Posted July 28, 2005 Posted July 28, 2005 Dear Tuckedintoboots, any photos of you in the platforms you mention? SP
Danielinheels Posted August 1, 2005 Posted August 1, 2005 I'm 6'4" and my highest heels now are a little over 3". No problems with doors for moi. Be yourself; everyone else is already taken. - Oscar Wilde
balletboot2000 Posted August 2, 2005 Posted August 2, 2005 I'm 6-0, and when I put my 12" heeled boots on, you have to watch where you are going, but then, that's part of the fun. I love the feel of that ultimate lift!
tallguyinheels Posted August 2, 2005 Posted August 2, 2005 I'm 6'5" no heels... My prefered 5" pumps just let me pass under the standard 6'8" door frame without problems.. I've not yet tried platforms!
Dawn HH Posted August 3, 2005 Posted August 3, 2005 BBLoverEric:-) If you think that you are short, consider that I am only 5' 4.5" in stocking feet. Now...THAT is short, or should I say...Vertically Challenged? Cheers--- Dawn HH High Heeled Boots Forever!
JeffB Posted August 3, 2005 Posted August 3, 2005 Well, sometimes, I wish I were a little shorter than I am. If I were, chances are, I'd have a smaller shoe size, and if that were the case, I'd have far more options regarding where to shop for shoes. I don't want to LOOK like a woman, I just want to DRESS like a woman!
tallguyinheels Posted August 3, 2005 Posted August 3, 2005 Agreed... I seem to only have minimal choices in a size 14 womens shoe.
