eclextix
Who has regular "out and about" places they wear their heels? I commonly go to the local tanning salon in my heels, and have a blast chatting with the girls at the counter about them. I even wear some short shorts and sandals in there at times too. tightsnheels
Let's see there are a couple of large chain bookstores, a couple of different Wal-Marts, believe it or not church, most anywhere I won't run into family or co-workers. Never any negative reactions, one guy did do a double take once and I got a smile from a (I'm guessing) fortyish year old woman once but that's it. Stilettoscot
Lately my time in heels has been mostly in my home practicing in ultra high heels as the weather has been bad out. The only real place I wear my heels often is at my club where I work at, but unforunately I work security the only night I'm not working my other job, so the opportunities have been scarce of late. BTW, love the sandals in your avatar... Walking in ultra-highs because it's exciting...and it is!!
HappyFeat
I typically go "retailing"- malls, shopping centers, bookstores and the like. There are a couple of bars/clubs I frequent as well. Also, when I have time I really like museums and galleries. Style is built from the ground up!
latindancer
If you want to wear whatever you want. Then a bookstore will do. You can be a guy in a dress and no one will do and say anything. It's the best place to start the day and get confidence for the rest of the day.

JeffB
I typically go "retailing"- malls, shopping centers, bookstores and the like. There are a couple of bars/clubs I frequent as well. Also, when I have time I really like museums and galleries. That makes two of us. I also prefer malls, bookstores and shoppings centers. I feel most comfortable in such settings as I've ventured there in heels for years and know what to expect from people around me, which is usually nothing. I've yet to go to museums and the like, but perhaps I'll give them a try one day. I don't want to LOOK like a woman, I just want to DRESS like a woman! jwhite44
I think shopping is best: - plenty of walking w/ some standing - definitely a public activity - semi-discreet, since most people are busy with their own stuff.

morpho
i am preparing my second outing, is not easy to go how you all use to go, my respects, I hope one day i can step into the mall in heels and dont care, but it will take me a lot of time to convince my self, so i will take it easy and go step by step., I think, bars and clubs are the best places, and maybe movies and shows., of course casinos could be a nice experience, hope to go to las vegas soon. HappyFeat
ive worn heels for ages for going to the bank, such that if i dont, the counter staff will give me a funny look, like what happened to you, are you standing in a hole ?? This is something that I have noticed. When I go to a place where I normally go when wearing heels, people seem to notice I am not wearing them and often comment on that. When people regularly see you in heels, they are shocked by their absence. For guys who don't wear their heels out, this may seem counter intuitive, but it seems to hold true in my observation. My feeling is that people whom I have regular contact not only are accepting of my heel wearing as much as expecting to see me in heels. I have just put them on and gone about my business wherever it takes me for the day. This is something I am learning. Since I have started wearing heels more and more, I am becoming just as likely to wear them as not no matter where I am going or what I am doing. So, the world is growing as a place for my heeling to include about anyplace I want to go. Style is built from the ground up!
secondtake20
I went to Home Depot tonight to spend a gift card from Christmas to purchase a window blind. I wore my boots with a 2 & 1/2 inch heel. Walked around looking at blinds and then to find someone to trim the blind. I stood and talked with the store employee and ran into someone I know and no one noticed or seemed to care. The more I wear heels the less I notice people who look or care. The way I look at things is as long as everything is done with in taste no one cares as long as you are not hurting anyone or causing a scene. rxrenesis
Tonight I had a great outing. Went for my manicure & pedicure and a friend joined me at the salon. During our session she suggested that we go eat once we were done. I looked down and saw I had on my beat up clogs, thank goodness I keep a pair of boots in my trunk. Once I arrived at the restaurant she asked what took you so long? I told her look down and she got real excited with my boots telling me how much she liked them. They had a 3" heel and kind of a pointed toe looked almost like the boots she had on. So both of us walked into the place heels clicking it was great. We sat at the bar and my heels were in plain view. I caught one of the waitresses taking a glance at my boots and she looked up an smiled. Then came the bathroom trip. Trying to move quickly to the restroom I lost footing but recovered before going down. My 1st actual social outing in heels and it was great. rx ps I'll post some pics of the boots soon. morpho
Rxrenesis: Woa, that was an exciting ice breaker with your self on showing off your heels, ok tell us....and describe your boots more (3inch, pointed toe, stylettos or needle heel? color? so i can imagine the level of the outing, ...., I could never show to anyfriend my afection to high heels, ....good for you, are you maried? does your wife know about your hobbie?, Related to your story RX, I have a friend that doesnt has any relation with my family and friends, not yet, I was wondering to tell her my afection to this hobbie, in order to take her with me to heel around if she wont mind. it always depends on the person of course, but i think is like cheating to my wife, even if there is nothing wrong with it (not wrong to me but to her), the simple fact of heeling around is a secret and if shared with someoneelse it may appear wrong therefore, i think is cheating at least for my situation. Anybody has different perspective? I will try to convince that is a hobbie friend such as a tennis friend which i play everyweek. V. rxrenesis
morpho, The boots are from Naturalizer I forget the style name but I picked them up in one of the outlet stores. They have a 3" heel which is more of a cone shape with a pointed toe. They are stretch knee high and black in color. I received a coupon via email so I went back and bought the same boots in brown. My friend knows of my heeling we have often discussed it during a few happy hour sessions. The SO is another story. As promised here are shots of the boots...
