JeffB
Well Jeff...it felt great to wear the thigh boots. They really do accent long legs so well. It was truly a fun experience and next fall I plan to take them out with many different looks. Glad to read that you've become a convert! HA! As for different looks, give a pair of tight jeans a try. Thighbootguy once wore shorts with thigh boots and that combo looked good. As I am sure you would agree, if I was going to do the thigh boots, I HAD to do them wearing a skirt. I had no desire to hide even the smallest amount of the boots. Well, who would? That would be downright criminal! Double HA! However, I don't think my outing that day merited the thigh boots...man or woman, I was way over dressed for an outing to Borders..lol Oh, hell, don't sweat the small stuff, my friend! I overdress for Borders almost all the time! Ditto for Subway, Best Buy, Barnes & Noble and the occasional mall! Triple HA! I don't want to LOOK like a woman, I just want to DRESS like a woman! Thighbootguy
HappyFeat – Yeah, I did suggest that end of season shopping for thigh boots might turn up a bargain but several folks on this board have found them in sizes they could wear but alas, my big feet have foiled my attempts. I’m still envious (but delighted) of your good fortune. However, I disagree with your comment, “As I am sure you would agree, if I was going to do the thigh boots, I HAD to do them wearing a skirt.” The boots work extremely well with jeans and, as JeffB mentioned, with shorts in the summer time. You are right on the mark when you said, “I had no desire to hide even the smallest amount of the boots.” Enjoy your boots (year-round). Shafted
HappyFeat, Your heeling adventures have been stellar! I don't think I have ever read a more interesting story of one's journey to fashion freedom. It wreaks of "Lifetime Original Movie". Sell your story! Kinda the way Julie Powell's "Julie & Julia" did. That movie if you hadn't seen it was based on Julie Powell's blog. Okay, with that aside. I must say that it was very entertaining, not just your interaction with people (which is necessary for confident street heeling), but your fashion evolution. How it went from rough around the edges, but through subtle refinement became a distinct personal style. It took me two days to read this entire thread and boy was it worth it. Congratulations on having carved out your niche of acceptance. Enjoy everything life has to offer. Shafted Shafted, the boots that is! HappyFeat
It has been a long time since I posted. Life is treating me very well, but keeping me busy. I have been out in heels at least three days a week during the time I was gone. My "adventures" are more or less become my normal. In many ways since I started this thread, my heeling has evolved to something that is part of my every day life. A lot of it has to do with accepting myself and this thread specifically and HHPlace in general has had a lot to do with that. Over the next couple of weeks, I will be posting some pictures I did not get around to posting since last summer and I have a few more recent ones as well. For some of the outings I don't remember when or where I wore them or specific reactions, but I will do my best. Outing #11 - Loft Jacket, purple The Limited Sweater, Banana Republic straight jeans, gray BCBGirls ankle boots. I don't specifically remember where I wore this, but it must have been in the Spring of 2011. Outing #12 - Black Blazer, sateen The Limited blouse, black straight jeans, black Nine West oxfords. I wore this to lunch with my wife at a little Mexican place. Outing #13 - Brown Perry Ellis sweater, pink (yes pink) Banana Republic corduroys, brown Enzo boots. I went with my wife to a big moving sale at Pier 1 Imports. Outing #14 - Black Clayborne sweater, white Banana Republic corduroys, black Steve Madden boots. Shopping with my wife. Outing #15 - Black NY & Co. jacket, gray NY & Co. blouse, black The Limited skinny jeans, Banana Republic trouser socks, black patent Steve Madden May Janes. Again Not sure where I wore this outfit... Again, I ma happy to post again and there are more where these came from.... Style is built from the ground up! danielp6406
Welcome back HappyFeat :-) Outfits 1-2-4-5 are looking great. (I really like 2 & 5) Well done ! But I'm not sure about the # 3 outfit... Maybe the colors don't match or maybe the pink pants are too "girly" for your masculine look ? ( Please note that this is only my own opinion ) Nice gray boots !
Steve63130
Welcome back, HF! Glad to see you are still among the living (and heeling). Great outfits, as usual. While complacency might set in after a period of wearing heels and finding out that nobody else cares, you have to remember that guys like you who are on the forefront of getting out there and strutting your stuff are an inspiration to a lot of wanna-be heelers here who want to go public but have issues and hangups doing so. Mostly the demons are in our heads, but you have to show by example, with details, photos, and real world experiences. You've always done that well and inspired lots of others here (including me). Your job here is to continue to lead us out of darkness and into the light. Stick around and give us your best ideas and fashion wisdom. Please, no more long absence! bluejay
Welcome back HF. i certainly missed your posts and pictures. I even remarked about your absence in one of my posts in the last month or so. I too am heeling several times a week but mostly in men's fashions, but always wearing my womens' jeans when I am in jeans. I will be updating my " Heeling with bluejay" thread soon. ONCE AGAIN WELCOME BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Happy Heeling' bluejay

JeffB
Welcome back, HappyFeat! You've certainly been missed around here. Cool outfits, number #4 is my favorite. You continue to exhibit great style. I don't want to LOOK like a woman, I just want to DRESS like a woman!
Gudulitooo
Hi HappyFeat, thank you for sharing again your cool outfits with us ! As Danielp, all are great, though I found the black boots contrasting too much with the pastel colored outfit #13.
Thighbootguy
Most people on this site know better than to listen to my fashion advice but… consider the dark sweater in #4 with the pink slacks and boots in #3. To my eye, the light top was a little too much with the pink slacks (which I do like). I liked the look in #4 best of all the choices, but then I like boots. Glad you’re posting again. I dream of a world where chickens can cross roads without having their motives questioned.
RonC
Happy, my inspirational hero! So good to see a post and pictures from you once again! Looking great and daring as always. It's also quite apparent that you've worked hard to keep off the weight you lost a while back. Nice work. That's not easy as we get older! This was a great post for me to see today, as I was just out shopping in my three inch block heel pumps that I would likely have never worn in public without your inspiration. While I will never have the courage to dress as you do (and also don't have the approving wife, which is a big reason for that....lol), in my fantasy world I wear outfits like #5, with those great patent mary janes! Looking great as always. While I certainly understand the trials of trying to find sufficient time for these posts, I hope you can at least give us at least an occassional post with some of your great pictures! Thanks again! HappyFeat
Thanks for the wonderful messages. Sometimes I forget that my posts are important to many people - simply just taking my heeling for granted. Also, I know the pink cords were a risky choice, but for the record, the boots I wore with them were brown. Anyway, some outfits work better than others and I love hearing all of the critiques. I will do my best not to have many prolonged absences. Also, I am evaluating some other options for expanding my mission of being an average guy who lives an average life and finds ways to work in my passion for heels, etc. I will keep everybody informed and may ask for some help. Now on with the outfit archives: Outfit #16 - This was a long blouse and a pair of denim leggings that I bought at The Limited last spring. The clerk who waited on me was pregnant and was heading for maternity leave and a very supportive fun person. I matched the outfit with a pair of pewter Nine West sandals that I bought at a NW retail store a few weeks later. My outing this day, if I remember correctly was to visit my freind at The Limited prior to her leaving for maternity leave in the outfit she helped me put together. Outfit #17 - I have no idea where I wore this outfit, but it is an olive wool double breasted blazer, skinny jeans from The Limited, and funky black Nine West Mary Janes. I took a risk of going sockless in these shoes to emphasize the contrast between the thick strap and laces and my bare skin. Besides, somehow skinny jeans don't always seem to work well with hosiery for me. Outfit #18 - This was an early spring warm day and I went and did some domestic shopping (groceries, etc.) My outfit was a blue and black Perry Ellis sweater, Banana Republic chino short shorts, and black low heel loafers. I had just shaved my legs the night before and was thrilled to go out and show them off. Outfit #19 - I wore this outfit to get a pedicure. Because I was getting "new toes" I wore a pair of Bakers thong sandals with a very nice ankle wrap, khaki The Limited Capris, and a thing tan and red argyle sweater. My only memory of this was crossing a very busy street and a group of teenagers gawking at me. Outfit #20 - This is the same sweater I wore in picture 18 (I can't believe I did that...lol) a pair of Loft flare jeans, a black suede blazer and black Nine West peep-toe platform slingbacks. Again I don't recall where I wore this, most likely to the mall. Hope you enjoy the pictures and let me know what you think. Style is built from the ground up! All nice, but the last outfit would be more to my taste and style if I was going to wear heels with my "regular" clothes. Maybe if I lose about 30 lbs....lol. Thanks as always Happy!
