pussyinboots Posted January 2, 2007 Posted January 2, 2007 Try entering the LSB web address into your 'address box' - and see what you get - so.....www.littleshoebox.com - and hey presto..................!!!!!!!! VERY HIGH HEELS....and an unexpected surprise!!! "Good Girls keep diaries....Bad Girls just don't have the time...!:icon_twisted:"
Dr. Shoe Posted January 2, 2007 Posted January 2, 2007 Yes, Spyros sold them the website for not very much money at all. Graduate footwear designer able to advise and assist on modification and shoe making projects.
pussyinboots Posted January 3, 2007 Author Posted January 3, 2007 Aaah!! So Spyros was from 'The Little Shoe Box'!! I found a video blog of an interview with him on a Polish Community website a few weeks ago - talking about the manufacture of Ballet Heels. Mystery solved - thanks Dr. Shoe! "Good Girls keep diaries....Bad Girls just don't have the time...!:icon_twisted:"
Dr. Shoe Posted January 3, 2007 Posted January 3, 2007 Well I am the resident expert on TLSB! :-) Graduate footwear designer able to advise and assist on modification and shoe making projects.
Stephanie75 Posted January 3, 2007 Posted January 3, 2007 Did La Piazza only take over the web-address for marketing reasons or did they also buy some manufacturing know-how from TLSB?
sexishoe Posted January 4, 2007 Posted January 4, 2007 Hi, Dr shoe!! Do you still make custom heels in your spare time....I know that the original maker of "COSMIC" still does, his name is Constantine!!!
Dr. Shoe Posted January 4, 2007 Posted January 4, 2007 Manufacturing know-how? There's no great secret to making shoes, any factory in the world would have TLSB's "know how"... To answer the question, they just bought the website address. No I don't make shoes in my spare time, I never have until now. I am hoping to be in a position when I can in a few months. Graduate footwear designer able to advise and assist on modification and shoe making projects.

Trolldeg Posted January 4, 2007 Posted January 4, 2007 La Piazza has owned the domain http://www.littleshoebox.com/ long before The Little Shoebox closed down, apparently hoping that someone looking for the real TLSB would end up at their site. TLSB had the domain http://www.thelittleshoebox.com/ Here is a copy of the site: http://213.38.88.196/phil/littleshoebox.nsf/
Rob Posted January 4, 2007 Posted January 4, 2007 Dr Shoe, Do you still have any of the stock that you brought left?
Dr. Shoe Posted January 4, 2007 Posted January 4, 2007 I have a few bits and pieces, what did you have in mind? Graduate footwear designer able to advise and assist on modification and shoe making projects.
Dr. Shoe Posted January 4, 2007 Posted January 4, 2007 Would you take personal orders and designs from Private customers? That will be the general idea... :-) Graduate footwear designer able to advise and assist on modification and shoe making projects.
metalspikes Posted April 27, 2007 Posted April 27, 2007 Well I am the resident expert on TLSB! :-) Why did Spyros decide to pack it all in, then? What is he doing now?
Dr. Shoe Posted April 27, 2007 Posted April 27, 2007 I gather that the business was getting less viable so he decided to quit before it got too bad. Cheap imports, disatisfaction with suppliers and falling sales were the main factors. Graduate footwear designer able to advise and assist on modification and shoe making projects.
metalspikes Posted April 27, 2007 Posted April 27, 2007 I gather that the business was getting less viable so he decided to quit before it got too bad. Cheap imports, disatisfaction with suppliers and falling sales were the main factors. It's a sad loss. Have you any idea what he is on to next?
benno Posted February 28, 2008 Posted February 28, 2008 I just found this on the 'Home Truths' archives on BBC Radio 4's website. It's a charming little interview with Gino and Spiros about their shoes. It also reminded me what a wonderful character John Peel was. http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio4/hometruths/20040628_shoe_box.shtml Warmest regards, Ben
Bubba136 Posted February 29, 2008 Posted February 29, 2008 Great interview. I really liked it. Although I never visited their shop I do own a couple of pair of their shoes. (My avatar) I was in the process of purchasing another pair from them when I received word that the shop was closing and they were nolonger accepting new orders. Guest Loveshiheels Posted February 29, 2008 Posted February 29, 2008 When did the little shoe box close down?
crotchboots-m Posted February 29, 2008 Posted February 29, 2008 how about equal time to those like me that were ripped off by those 2?
Guest Loveshiheels Posted March 1, 2008 Posted March 1, 2008 how about equal time to those like me that were ripped off by those 2? Why was that then. Tell us more.

crotchboots-m Posted March 1, 2008 Posted March 1, 2008 i ordered a pair of black leather thigh boots with 4 inch heels for 208 dollars u.s. in 1996 and never got anything, not even a story. when i called them on the phone they just blew me off. so i think i am entitled to hate their rotten asses.
Bubba136 Posted March 2, 2008 Posted March 2, 2008 sounds like a good reason to me to be angry with them! Over the past 10 years or so, I've gotten the impression from chatting with others that have placed orders with them, that LSB, while good on quality and style, wasn't very good at the administative part of running a business. Being mentally comfortable in your own mind is the key to wearing heels in public.
crotchboots-m Posted March 2, 2008 Posted March 2, 2008 thats why it doesnt break my heart that they no longer have the opportunity to rip anyone else off. good riddance to bad rubbish i say...
roniheels Posted March 21, 2008 Posted March 21, 2008 Crotchboots... Judging by your reaction and the reaction of others, I'm glad I avoided them.
