ilikekicks Posted March 14, 2014 Author Posted March 14, 2014 At least by tying a mattress on her back she's protected when she falls over. ROFLMAO! Touche! I stand one-upped and feel no shame for it! One person's junk is another's jewelry. Personally, I love super high heels in outrageous colors. I like a good heel myself. Colors are great as well. But where does the gaudiness and hooker-resemblence become ' too much '. I get it, you personally LIKE jackstands, not a problem, but when does a person finally sit back and say.. ' I look CHEAP ' or ' LIKE TRASH ' or like some kind of over-used prostitute because of how their apparel is? I too have some neon pink and neon yellow pumps. I wouldnt wear them to a prom or something formal. Where is the respect that so many people demand for themselves, yet wish to give none to others? This is a PROM, not the AVN awards.. jerbare Posted March 15, 2014 Posted March 15, 2014 I to like the heels that are on that web site. I know that over 1/2 of my heels are 6" plus and the ones that I saw on there site I would own. No difference than I can't under stand a person having a truck hot up and 2 wheeled I think 4X4 youkon is what a truck should be.
hiheellover23 Posted March 15, 2014 Posted March 15, 2014 Hey what's up everyone. Just thought I'd stop through to try to make light of the situation. Although everyone has different taste in shoes. We men choose our shoes that fit our comfort zone some choose 3 inches and some do 8 and 9 inches. Although Mr. Ilikekicks is not a fan of platforms. He has complimented my choice in shoes, which I think is the coolest thing in the world. If anyone has seen my photos knows that I'm a platform freak. Although I must disagree with "jackstand= slutty", in my opinion I think platforms are represent masculinity. Kind of gives a rockstar type feel in our fashion like David Bowie, Dee Snyder, KISS, Bootsy Collins. To me platforms equals ego!! But that's just my thoughts. Tell me if you think differently. And the site sucks they false advertise shoes that they don't have in my size!!! What ya see is what ya get no more or less!!
hhboots Posted March 15, 2014 Posted March 15, 2014 ya, I am not a huge platforms fan myself. But ya, ILK has a particularly strong opinion about them that he has stated time and time again (always with the 'jackstands', never really heard that term to be honest, until he came along ). Some lesser platforms (under 1.5") have grown on me over time, but I agree, the super platforms that are all the rave right now, are still not to my liking. Anyway ILK, we get it, but take it easy man, many people on this forum do really like them, so bashing them repeatedly is getting a bit old.
ilikekicks Posted March 15, 2014 Author Posted March 15, 2014 Im going to break this down in my response so its explanation might be better stated. I do highly appreciate your viewpoint Ilk, I'm not trying to start an argument with you but for a man, (like myself), who likes wearing high heels I find your comments very judgemental. If a woman feels beautiful and confident in her footwear of choice then simply let it be exactly that, her choice. Without fear of ridicule or judgement. As a man, I know its hard to be accepted in wearing certain items. *I* get this and can understand where others might see wearing heels as being ' gay ', ' queer ', ' F-cked up ' or one might question my sanity. For such reasons, I try to NOT be ' flamboyant ' and try to add a bit of class in what I wear. Im not trying for the whole ' In your face ' type of perception that is naturally drawn when a Guy, as in, someone with an appendage between their legs approaches wearing a pair of heels. Im NOT a Pr0n star. Im not ' for sale ' or ' working '. Im willing to observe a whole senario *before* I jump in with a pair of jackstands on and say ' I have my rights!!!! ' and question why some might laugh. Honestly. People need to *think* of how they appear/present/represent themselves. Personally I can't stand wedges, I have an opinion on them. However I don't plaster that opinion all over this website because this site is meant to be about teaching people to be more accepting of other people's fashion preferences. *I* can be accepting of many things. Prom aged girls going out like whores/prostitutes/hookers/pornstars? Really? Seriously? "I think your second last sentence sums it up quite well "Where IS the respect that so many people demand for themselves, yet wish to give none to others" I personally like platforms and you calling them "jackstands'" and preaching your opinion of them isn't going to stop me or anyone else from wearing them if they choose to." By all means, go ahead and wear them. I do NOT wish to see fellow men complaining about not being accepted for choosing to wear such attire. I will be 100% honest, I have had a few friends go out heeling with me to try and understand it. In jackstands? *I* dont think so. Take things 1 step at a time, let society gradually get used to the idea instead of trying to ram pornstar jackstands on mens feet into the picture before hand. *That* is a thought some should consider or give a processors-brainwave-cycle to. "No offense meant. Just an opinion." I was asked several times going door to door lately about the wedge boots I was wearing. Some women complimented, some ( somewhat ) scoffed ( though they were being rather polite ). Some men laughed ( one laughed and then offered me a beer! ). Imagine what their reactions would be if I had a pair of those ' pleaser ' things on my feet? There might have been a 13loop nuse around my neck and I would have been hanging off the welcome sign leading into town. In some ways, your are quite correct in saying Im somewhat ' Judgmental '. I believe if things are implemented in less ' drastic ' ways, people accept them in more pleasant ways. Its an observation Ive had for a while but it doesnt satisfy those whom DEMAND their ' rights ' or DEMAND people HAVE to accept them or respect them.. Truth be known, Most people dont judge someone by whats on their feet, but whats between their ears. First impressions are only a consideration when looking at the substance of an individual. ya, I am not a huge platforms fan myself. Theres a REASON for the supposed ' bashing '. People need to look at how many might view ' jackstands '. I remember back over a year ago on THIS forum when the common theme was men too afraid to walk out of their homes in a pair of heels REGARDLESS of what kind of shoe it was. There was maybe 5 or 6 of us? People hunkered down and the conversations turned towards making a ' whole outfit '. Then threads started with posts in regards to what matches with what and what works for some people.. Next thing I know, I see messages from quite a few others about going out and about and actually enjoying themselves. Im not one to directly insult an individual, but If I saw another guy, out strutting around in a pair of those cheapo jackstands.. *I* would laugh!!! I wouldnt laugh AT the person, but the situation/picture they present. Some of us on this site have a wife or a girlfriend. Some cant break the news to their significant other and live in a closet about their footware likings.. I am BLESSED to have a wife and quite a few family members whom are whole heartedly supportive of not only Me as a person, but even what I put on my feet. These are just ' common ' people. The WOMEN I do know all dont care for ' jackstands '. Why? I explained such earlier, tie a mattress on your back. Yet some MEN will be ' offended ' for the mentioning of such? Face it, the women will come around to the idea of men in heels long before our fellow Y-Chromosone having brethren will. I would say about a quarter of all the women alive couldnt give a shit what we put on our feet. Men? ROFLMAO! Theres maybe 5% of all living guys whom would say anything nice about fellow dudes ' giving up teh man card ' and strutting a pair of kicks. Lets look at some ' obstacles ' here. One obstacle is *some* women have a fear that we are making advancements onto what they have claimed as THEIRS. I dont remember the members name, but one of the women here openly stated such. Theres the whole ' tranny ' conversation. Surely, a guy in a pair of jackstands which are notoriety on all the pr0n sites.. CL himself said the idea of men in heels is ' silly '. Hes one of the ' top dawgs ' right now, wont give you or me a break yet some of us have helped fatten his pocket! Some ' thanks ' eh? ( damn.. Im NOT CANADIAN! ) All the El-Cheapo companies make shoes up to some larges sizes ( 14? 15? ). Why wont the quality types? Fear of being labeled tranny supporting or something? Fear of women attaining a different view of their company? My conclusion is this : If we go out looking to wear what the pr0nstars and hookers wear, Until people get to know us, we should accept the same level of respect given to them and the same social status. Its what we are emulating. I wont go strutting with another guy wearing jackstands. I wont go out socializing with a guy with his ' pants on the ground ' and his underware on display. I wont go out with a woman whom has her boobs poring out of a tank top or a ' sausage roll ' skirt! These are kosher/halal : http://www.hhplace.org/uploads/gallery/album_2/gallery_14338_9_1335288912_73.jpg gallery_16221_31_1335288912_229.jpg gallery_519_378_261679.jpg gallery_1349_272_327979.jpg Most might be a bit shocked to see a guy wearing something like that out and about but from my experiences, I havent seen nor experienced any real resentment or issues. This thought?!?! spike-toe-platform-heel.jpg AH-S7005-Demi.jpg High Platform.jpg 4209769322_cc3b85bf8e_b.jpg I can see at a rave or some wild costume party.. outside of that though, you wont even see WOMEN sporting those outside of a rare occasion. I am of the impression we can *earn* the trust of others by a gradual approach. There IS a way to being accepted and its not ( by example ) wearing hooker shoes. Such a thing needs to be realized by everyone before they demand ' fashion freedom '. Maybe if we didnt look so ' cheap ' or ' pornstar whoreish ' like the WOMEN whom wear such things, the market for larger sizes might open up to us. The market for larger sizes is quite slim on the pickings, could it be theres some kind of fear from vendors believing that we as men might make their products look ridiculous ( just as some women do but on a higher level. )? I couldnt give a rats arse what people think of my opinion so long as it makes them *think* and realize the full scope of the picture. Besides, we will all know if ' jackstands ' is a suitable term this coming week when I try to use a ' pleaser ' pr0n type shoe as a real-to-life jackstand when I change the wheels on my truck. *IF* it works, will people still resent such a term ( jackstand ) being used? Hey what's up everyone. Just thought I'd stop through to try to make light of the situation. Although everyone has different taste in shoes. We men choose our shoes that fit our comfort zone some choose 3 inches and some do 8 and 9 inches. Although Mr. Ilikekicks is not a fan of platforms. And the site sucks they false advertise shoes that they don't have in my size!!! Your situation is different then the common ' jackstand '. I not only complimented some of your shoes, but the whole outfits you put together as a ' package ' deal. It suits you quite well and I will go as far to say your not the ' femmy ' skinny little type of guy at all. I think the term ' linebacker ' would be an appropriate term defining your ' build ' . Of those you mentioned, they are all performers whom have ( or had ) a ' shock ' factor to them. One of your mentionings ( KISS ) is a HUGE influence and what caused me to change from Piano to guitar in my younger years. Their footware was part of a ' costume ' though ( or an act ). The same with Bowie. You did leave out ' Captain Fantastic ' though . Pity. I to like the heels that are on that web site. I know that over 1/2 of my heels are 6" plus and the ones that I saw on there site I would own. Would you wear them out to a family function? Its one thing to like something and rave about it, but its another to actually ' live ' it. REPEATEDLY ARGUMENTATIVE, INSULTING AND RUDE. BANNED FOR LIFE.
JeffB Posted March 15, 2014 Posted March 15, 2014 Well, I agree with ilikekicks, though I'm nowhere near as rabid about my own dislike of sky high "hooker heels" as he is. Heh! I've never worn anything higher than five inches, and even that's infrequently as I feel more comfortable in lower heights, so I can't understand why women, or men would wear shoes like in the links from the first post, but hey, some do, even enjoy such shoes, but hey, to each their own. I don't want to LOOK like a woman, I just want to DRESS like a woman!
Shafted Posted March 15, 2014 Posted March 15, 2014 (edited) My view on platforms is strictly from an aesthetic viewpoint. I find that when a person's feet are raised significantly off the ground it creates a severe leg shortening illusion rather than a leg lengthening illusion that a single sole high heel creates. It's kind of like the wearers legs are too short to reach the ground. The effect is exaggerated even more when the person really is short. To me, wearing high heels with little or no platform is where the leg lengthening effect takes place. I have to agree with ilk about guys wearing outrageous platform footwear and whining about no acceptance. There are a few guys here, who really can rock the high platforms but, they do it with the attitude and confidence to match. (Yes there is a difference between the two) The examples that come to mind are all very socially outgoing in platforms. To put it bluntly, I do not in any way sympathize with the person who whines about no acceptance. If you want acceptance, EARN IT! I don't give it away for free either.I had to earn mine too. Pumped Posted March 15, 2014 Posted March 15, 2014 I am am pretty much "closet" heel wearer. I can understand the point of a guy wearing some of those outrageous heels in public could be a bad idea, but I can still like them. I tend to live vicariously through my wife when it comes to heels. She knows I like to wear them, and she does too. She has some fairly tall, crazy looking heels that she will wear out. I also believe some of the outrageous heels can be worn by a woman, in good taste, with the proper outfit, guys on the other hand might be a stretch, but who decides? You would not wear a Speedo swimsuit to a wedding, but you might wear one to a beach. Also a couple guys here like to wear thigh high boots in public, and wear them most anywhere. How many people in the general public would consider that to be acceptable? Who are we to define what is acceptable, then wander out into public wearing 4" heels?
ilikekicks Posted March 16, 2014 Author Posted March 16, 2014 My view on platforms is strictly from an aesthetic viewpoint. It's kind of like the wearers legs are too short to reach the ground. The effect is exaggerated even more when the person really is short. To me, wearing high heels with little or no platform is where the leg lengthening effect takes place. This photo ( first one ) is kinda displaying what your stating and its on a woman. Shes lifted up so high that it makes her ass and legs look ' odd '. Shes 5 foot 10 which isnt uncommon for most guys. Add to her another 25-100 pounds ( I dont believe many men are under 150lbs these days, shes listed at 125lbs ) and what happens? Another consideration are the ' super thin ' women whom TRY to rock a pair of jackstands. I'm 33 I LK cut me some slack lol!!! Your one of the VERY FEW Guys I have seen pictures of that can look stylish in Platforms. Lemme negate that and say you are one of the very few PEOPLE whom can look stylish in platforms in the ' real world '. Not in the Movies or on the red carpet, but an every-day type of person whom isnt a celebrity whom just ' does what they do '. As Shafted stated earlier, its more in how you carry yourself then anything else. YOU could probably rock a pair of construction boots with jeans and draw attraction as in your photos, you know how to carry yourself and have a certain poise about your statute. *I* will admit I admire your proficiency in doing that. I am not that sytlish myself. All of these girls are what I would call ' skinny '. Some have what I would say very ' elegant ' shape in their legs.. till the view draws down to their feet.. To have skinny ankles and then bricks on their feet? ( Second to 5th photos ) REPEATEDLY ARGUMENTATIVE, INSULTING AND RUDE. BANNED FOR LIFE.
JeffB Posted March 16, 2014 Posted March 16, 2014 I saw a twentysomething woman wearing pumps similar to the ones in picture #4 above yesterday. She took baby steps while walking down the street and, at times, it looked like she struggled a bit in those shoes. I couldn't help but shake my head, as someone who puts comfort over style when wearing heels, to prance about in shoes like those just doesn't make much sense to me. I don't want to LOOK like a woman, I just want to DRESS like a woman!
ilikekicks Posted March 16, 2014 Author Posted March 16, 2014 "She took baby steps while walking down the street and, at times, it looked like she struggled a bit in those shoes." How stylish is it to not even be able to walk in shoes we freely and knowingly purchase? It doesnt say much about the person wearing them in having good judgement. If someone is that vain or willing to look foolish while under the impression they are being ' stylish '.. its sad. REPEATEDLY ARGUMENTATIVE, INSULTING AND RUDE. BANNED FOR LIFE.
maninpumps Posted March 16, 2014 Posted March 16, 2014 This thread is comical ! Opinions, everyone has one. Seems if you don't share the same as some then, you get slammed by their "disciples" and vice versa. High heel styles vary like personalities . Some styles are geared for age groups , clothing styles and what ever else. Who cares, high heels are a luxury and purchased for our pleasure. That is the long and short of it. I hope everyone keeps this in mind when reading other posts in here. We are all members because we like to wear / admire high heels. For the record being a larger gentleman I tend to wear wedge platforms or styles like my avatar . To put it into perspective you can't build a skyscraper on toothpicks , better to have a more firm foundation. Have a great day everyone !
hhboots Posted March 16, 2014 Posted March 16, 2014 Well said maninpumps and I fully agree with your point of view. Again, I am not an advocate for or against 'jackstands'. I get what ILK is saying and I agree with most of what he is saying, but only because its my own opinion of how they look: I find them comical looking on a man or woman... but, I am not going to preach to anyone what they should or should not wear. Its none of my damn business, people should do whatever they find that makes them happy. That's about it.
ilikekicks Posted March 17, 2014 Author Posted March 17, 2014 Well said maninpumps and I fully agree with your point of view. Again, I am not an advocate for or against 'jackstands'. I agree whole heartedly with what your stating but many people cannot recognize how comical some of these things are. In order for ' men in heels ' to not be considered a ' joke ' or something to be laughed at or found ' silly ' like CL stated, we need to show others we are serious, not a joke and we shouldnt look like something to be laughed at. An example EVERYONE can relate to. PLEASE have thick skin on this people as its the truth and one we have ALL seen. That girl. The one in the neighborhood. Shes the one at the parties whom has the personality to light up the room. Shes also the one in that tube top or miniskirt that looks 3-5sizes too small and all those ' rolls ' are hanging out of. Everyone loves her and thinks shes the greatest in the world, but nobody wishes to be the one to say ' Maybe you should ditch that skirt because you have the sausage roll effect going on '. We all hear people whom dont know her making the comments about the sausage rolls or ' WTF is she thinking trying to wear that? ' and we get angry or feel bad for her. Yes, even us, as her friends believe that maybe she should wear something else but nobody wishes to say something because its not what anyone wants to hear. Thats what Im saying. I say what people dont want to hear. Truth is, those people have said the same things to themselves at some point in time but wont speak up about it in fear of the ' mob ' coming down upon them. Check these out.. Substitute ' man in heels ' for ' fat woman ' and look at the comments. Its what Men in heels are up against. http://isitnormal.com/story/iin-to-think-fat-girls-wearing-mini-skirts-or-tight-clothes-are-gross-58320/ REPEATEDLY ARGUMENTATIVE, INSULTING AND RUDE. RonC Posted March 17, 2014 Posted March 17, 2014 In terms of style and look, I have to side with ILK here. A small platform is fine, but personally, I find the comparison to "bricks on their feet" to be spot on. And I have yet to see a woman that can walk gracefully in a platform that is over an inch thick. Just my 2 cents worth here. That being said, please, wear what you like! Knowing fashion, we're likely in for a period where heels are not in style, and we'll all be wishing to see a heel of any kind on the street.

ilikekicks Posted March 21, 2014 Author Posted March 21, 2014 The ' thick skinned ' post. Forwarning : this is a VERY correct posting. Its correct in ' reality '. It is general and not just towards the individual Im responding to. Its something I would ask all to ' consider '. Well, at least we lightened up! Steve I was never ' heavy ' at all. Theres a real point to be made in all of it. "but let's try not to be so opinionated that we offend others." ' Offend '? For a while in my life, I actually ' cared ' about what others thought. The whole ' social status ' B.S./run-around. The ' cant we all get along ' type of thing. I realized a lot of things are just ' smoke and mirrors '. Those whom cry the loudest and in the biggest groups USUALLY win over the discussion. Such doesnt work with me. These are examples of some of it, its more hypocrisy then anything else. Theres a guy whom made the greatest box office taking movie about the environment and how we all need to be ' greener '. He flys around in lear jets and rolls in SUV's sucking down gas. Theres these holy rollers whom molest children.. men of god are what they are called. There are all these folks with DUI's out there running people down while they are drunk yet they lambaste stoners for being unproductive and doing their thing and not harming anyone else while laying stoned on their couch and not driving around in their cars. Then there are those ' men in heels '. What a great lot they really are! To put it into perspective about those ' Jackstands '.. Theres quite a few people whom cry about others ' offending them ' or that they might be relevant in someways. Have you noticed the conversation in this thread and whom the participants are? We are guys whom DO IN FACT go out in heels. Shafted, JeffB, You, me.. take a good look at the names. The truth is, those whom REALLY ' claim ' to be offended dont have a leg to put a heel and stand on and havent even participated in the conversation as they dont have the stones/balls/cajones/testicles/intestinal-fortitude to wear a pair of those things ( jackstands ) out on the town. Their own damn shame, low self esteems and pitiful worries of ' someone finding out they wear heels ' scares them to death. Thats their own doing. Its upon them. If they desire to wear those jackstands, more power to them, put them on and get out there! Strut your stuff and be proud of it! Represent yourself how YOU choose to as an individual. Sure, we should ' encourage ' others to go out and about and promote what we do.. For over a year I have done so. Ive even taken local friends out while in heels. Once I even took a friend in heels of his own. If were going to have a conversation, it should be something relative in discussion and by people whom actually do whats being discussed OR those of a first time nature that have curiosity and might be looking to hear about experiences, maybe where to go for a jaunt/strut/adventure. *MOST* of those people whom wear ' jackstands ', ' hooker ' or ' porn ' shoes wont do it outside of their own home. To them ( I believe ) its a ' fantasy ' type of thing, thus they will chime in and ' say their peace ' while they wont go to the corner store in anything buy normal ' mens wear ' in fear of someone saying something about what they are wearing. ( Side note : Nothing wrong with being in the closet. Remember though : their opinion means less to me then someone whos actually out there strutting. Experience has a value more then someone crying how offended they are ). I strut about wearing what? It varies. Usually wedge boots of somekind. Ankle or knee high. When the weather is good, classic pumps/courts/stilettos arent that uncommon. Look through the gallery here at the pictures taken outside of peoples homes, out in public.. How many have ' jackstands ' on their feet and are out in public? If I ' offend ' people for my observations of what things really are, is that *my* fault? Should *I* feel shame of somekind when Im out and about in public wearing what I wear while others might complain and not even leave the protections of their 4 walls? Theres a huge difference between ' offending ' someone and ' not being correct enough '. Most dont see it as they are on a plantation of someone elses thinking and cannot distinguish the difference for themselves. The reason why its going to be VERY hard to win over others in regards to men wearing heels is its easier for people to say ' Im offended! ' or ' discrimination! ' then it is to actually EARN recognition. Its not just with heels, but with most of life in general. Thats the commonality of it and people will cry ' im offended! ' and go and complain instead of looking at THEMSELVES. I applied that philosophy to myself, It caused a multi-vertebrae growth and I now have the backbone to go out wearing what I want and living the life I choose. I have great joys in the things I do. Ive learned what real value is. For perspective : If some guy is ' offended ' about someone calling their footware ' Jackstands '( literally, I proved it already! they can be used for such! ).. Maybe when those whom cry about being so ' offended ' actually put on those jackstands and get out there and do their thing in public, I might see things differently. Examples go a long way! Maybe it will build self-confidence for them and along with it the perspective that calling their shoes ' jackstands ' isnt an issue at all. Why feel ' offended '? Why feel that supposed ' shame ' when theres nothing to be ashamed about? There really are some whom believe they are offended by what I have written or will write in the future. If I asked them why and they were REALLY honest in their answer and not just spouting off someone elses ' group ' opinion that they have chosen in replacement of their own , could they actually explain whats so offensive and not true about what I said and REALLY be true in their feeling of being ' offended '? People need to stop feeling so ' offended ' and actually do something for themselves. Break the boundaries they have given themselves and just go out in what they wish. Forget your ' programming ' and your ' correctness ', dont be so easily ' offended ' and go about your day. REPEATEDLY ARGUMENTATIVE, INSULTING AND RUDE. BANNED FOR LIFE.
Heals4me Posted March 24, 2014 Posted March 24, 2014 I like the term "jackstand" sounds much more masculine than "stiletto"! For such a small niche as blokes wearing high heels we do seem to have a very varied collection of likes and dislikes. Anyway, Jackstands are where I'm at. I only wear them round the house as I'm heading out the door. Generally the rest of my outfit distracts from the shoes I recon I walk in them better than just about every woman I've seen wearing them too!!
