Thighbootguy Posted January 17, 2006 Author Posted January 17, 2006 fogborkenvv – That sounds like a great shopping trip. It sounds like you had fun shopping on a budget. It reminded on the first pair of thigh boots I ever bought (over 20 years ago). I didn’t have the nerve to try them on in the store back then. Now I wouldn’t buy a pair of shoes/boots in a store without trying them on. Its all part of the fun. What style heel did the boots have? I dream of a world where chickens can cross roads without having their motives questioned.
Fog Posted January 17, 2006 Posted January 17, 2006 Thank you TBG. Unfortunately for me £50 is not budget at the moment! The heels are quite broad, rounded at the back and covered with leather. It was great fun wearing them around Croydon, with the light colour and being higher than my coat, there was no mistaking what I was wearing. I was surprised at not getting any reaction to almost knee length boots worn outside the trousers last night. Well I did get one reaction, I was about to start trying on a pair of quite flambuoyant ladies black and red silky shorts in River Island, when a sales assistant opened the door, I'd walked in without asking as there was no one around. The look on the lad's face was priceless.
Rockpup Posted January 18, 2006 Posted January 18, 2006 Hey guys.. spent a few hours in my thigh boots this morning. Had to run to the ATM before leaving for work, so I decided to ride the bike instead of drive. Then while driving to miami I made a stop at a small park to check out the birds and aligators. Unfortunatly it was a bit too warm when I was done working to wear my boots without standing out even more then a guy wearing thigh boots would stand out.. 80+F... oh well Have fun Jim (formerly known as "JimC")
heelsRus Posted January 18, 2006 Posted January 18, 2006 Hey guys.. spent a few hours in my thigh boots this morning. Had to run to the ATM before leaving for work, so I decided to ride the bike instead of drive. Jim Now that's the only way to travel :-) It's a little dark but I can see it's a Suzuki - kind of looks like an RM/RMX dirt/dual sport. What is it? Keep the rubber side down (soles and tyres :-) ).
Rockpup Posted January 18, 2006 Posted January 18, 2006 Yea, its a Suzuki DRZ400S.. I got in alot of trouble/injuries on sportbikes, so I figure dual sports would be alot safer in the long run I was hoping for better lighting.. Will have to do a daylight run soon. Jim (formerly known as "JimC")
Dawn HH Posted January 18, 2006 Posted January 18, 2006 Thighbootguy:-) Thanks for the up-date. I don't have that particular problem with my pantyhose that you mentioned. My heels aren't as high as yours are. I have less incline of the foot to contend with. My pantyhose feet stay put all day long for me. They also have a lot of spandex and a wider toe part for diabetic feet. Fogborkenvv:-) Your shopping adventure on a budget sounds like you had an enjoyable day with favorable comments. Congrats! JimC:-) Your thighboots and your bike seem to go together great. A very nice look for you. Have you thought of trying this during daylight? Just remember one thing---keep the rubber side down and the shiny side up. Cheers--- Dawn HH High Heeled Boots Forever!
Rockpup Posted January 19, 2006 Posted January 19, 2006 I have not had much time to ride durring the day except on weekends when my b/f and I go trail riding.. I was considering heading out tonight to get some pics around town, but a few things slowed me down, so I will see if I have time. Thanks Jim (formerly known as "JimC")
Thighbootguy Posted January 19, 2006 Author Posted January 19, 2006 JimC- I don’t know what happened but it looks like the pictures on the previous page have vanished. That’s a real shame, especially the one on the motorcycle. I’m getting a little too old to start riding a cycle and now, but I wish I could because it sure does look great. I’m looking forward your next set of pictures. I dream of a world where chickens can cross roads without having their motives questioned.
Rockpup Posted January 19, 2006 Posted January 19, 2006 They are still loading for me. Try putting http://balletboots.net/hhplace/biketb1.jpg , http://balletboots.net/hhplace/tbglades1.jpg , and http://balletboots.net/hhplace/tbglades2.jpg into your browser and see if that works. I did wear my thigh boots a bit more this morning. I stopped at the same park pictured in some earlier photos and walked the path on top of the levee for about 3/4 mile or so (away and back, total) and intended to do so again on the way home after cutting up some gell insoles to fit in the boots. After my experience walking up/down the edge of the levee in 4" heels I decided against the idea and just wandered around the lower area of the park. The gel insoles had a definate improvement, I am looking forward to finding out how far I can comfortably walk in them now, but will have to wait till I get back from NY. Btw.. I know NYC is a great place to wear my boots, but since my b/f nor the friends we are visiting are heel fans, I'm leaving them at home for now. I may be in San Diego again. I will bring them on that trip. Jim (formerly known as "JimC")

Dawn HH Posted January 23, 2006 Posted January 23, 2006 HeelsRus:-) This is one 70's plus guy that you won't find learnng to ride a bike. I prefer to have 4 wheels under me. That way, if I have 2 up in the air and 2 on the ground, then I'm not air-born. TEE! HEE! Cheers--- Dawn HH High Heeled Boots Forever!
Thighbootguy Posted January 23, 2006 Author Posted January 23, 2006 Yesterday was a museum day. I spent the afternoon at the Cincinnati Art Museum which was a real treat since I hadn’t been able to do that for a while. I wore blue jeans, a black turtleneck, and royal blue leather thigh boots with 5” stiletto heels. The walk in from the parking lot got a few glances but nothing exceptional. In the museum, several of the guards and docents greeted me warmly and commented that they hadn’t seen me for a while. The parking lot was unexpectedly full and I asked a guard what was going on and she told me about an event that was being held in the auditorium. I think most of the people were in there but there was still a good crowd milling about. I had to ask where the folding stools were and the guard got on her radio and asked. She finally located where they were being stored and directed me to that area. Off I went to the museum’s grand hall. This is a two story high large open area with dual curved staircases going to the second floor. I picked up a stool and walked through the area and up one of the stairways to one of my favorite galleries to start sketching. There were lots of folks that came through the gallery and I’m sure they noticed me but no one said a word and I really did get wrapped up in what I was doing. Cincinnati fountain square is being rebuilt and the 9’ tall statue of a woman from the top of the 43’ fountain is on display at the top of the stairways in the grand hall. I parked my stool at the top of the stairs and started sketching. This was probably the busiest intersection in the museum but it was also the best view. Again I got a couple of glances but that was it. I went into another gallery and a guard told me my favorite gallery (where I normally start) was closed for renovation. We chatted for a few minutes and she seemed genuinely glad to see me. When I finished sketching, I went back across the grand hall and put my stool away then wandered around the museum for another half hour or so. After the museum I went grocery shopping a t a store I don’t frequent often. That meant people there weren’t used to seeing me and I had to look around to find the stuff I wanted. Very few people even noticed. After that I went through Famous Footware. I really have to find a better store since that rarely have anything above a 10 and their boot selection was down to 2 styles. I also went through a large discount store and looked around. This place was crowded and several people took a second glance. My slot stop was a small store at the other end of the strip mall and I walked down and back. I didn’t notice anyone paying any attention to me. All in all a very nice afternoon. JimC - Thanks for reposting the image links. It must have been a “feature” of my browser that prevented me from seeing the originals (they work fine now). It sounds like your having fun with your thigh boots. I haven’t tried the gel insoles yet but the at minimum the foam ones are a requirement. I dream of a world where chickens can cross roads without having their motives questioned.
Dawn HH Posted January 26, 2006 Posted January 26, 2006 Thighbootguy:-) Another great adventure for you at the Art Gallery. I haven't used the gel insoles yet either, just the foam ones and they seem to work out fine for me. Cheers--- Dawn HH High Heeled Boots Forever!
Thighbootguy Posted January 27, 2006 Author Posted January 27, 2006 This week I have been pushing my envelop a little further. I wrote about it in the That's it .... default mode is skirt and heels. thread since I’ve been messing around with skirts again. This is Friday and that’s “jeans at work” so I did my morning grocery stop wearing jeans and black leather thigh boots with 5” stiletto heels. This is one of my favorite combinations. There were two new register clerks on duty and neither of them had ever seen me in my boots before. The young lady that waited on me saw me approaching the register and made eye contact then gave me a big smile. We chatted as she rang up my stuff but she made no mention of my boots. I think there is value in my posting outings that say: • I went out wearing my boots • I had fun • Nobody seemed to care This kind of post may encourage others to try it or at least take some of the fear out of trying it. Happy Heeling I dream of a world where chickens can cross roads without having their motives questioned.

Thighbootguy Posted January 30, 2006 Author Posted January 30, 2006 This is Sunday and that’s a museum day. After I finished my chores at home, I pulled on a pair of blue jeans, a blue denim shirt, and my royal blue thigh boots with 5” stiletto heels and headed for the museum. When I got there the parking lot was packed and I had to par at the far end which made for a longer walk to the front entrance. I asked the guard what was going on and she told me there was a puppet show in the auditorium and there was a big crowd for that. Oh well the more the merrier at the museum (I’m sure DawnHH agrees). I found the folding stools and headed for my first sketching stop, which was at the top of the right stairway in the Great hall. There was a lot of traffic through there today but most folks just glanced and kept going. I worked there for about 30 min. them walked to another gallery. This gallery is a large room done in carved wood panel (real oak woodwork) and I parked myself in the middle with my little stool and went to work again. Again most folks didn’t pay much attention but a few stopped and looked over my shoulder. The last gallery was the Impressionist gallery where I again did battle with a Monet seascape. I have had a go at that painting almost every time I go to the museum and I keep getting closer but like any good Impressionist work, I see more in it each time I look at it. A lady stopped and asked me about sketching and painting in the museum and she was surprised that the museum allowed (even encouraged) is. She seemed to know a lot about the art so I chatted with her for several minutes about the Monet I was working on. Not a word was mentioned about my boots. After I got done sketching I put my stool back and walked around the museum for a while. I did notice one group of young people in front of me that kept finding an excuse to turn around to check out the guy in thigh boots. This was another uneventful museum trip that really makes my week. All - Thanks for the encouraging words. Writing about the outings is part of the fun. I dream of a world where chickens can cross roads without having their motives questioned.
HeelD Posted January 30, 2006 Posted January 30, 2006 I'm not into wearing thigh boots (or skirts) myself but I love reading your stories as I find them very encouraging reading and they make me feel more determined to go out into the big world wearing my shoes and boots, more often. From the pictures I've seen you certainly pull off what you wear very well. I like the picture of you on the motorbike especially. Heel-D - Freestyling since 2005
Thighbootguy Posted January 30, 2006 Author Posted January 30, 2006 Heel-D - Thanks for the kind words. However the guy on the motorcycle is JimC and he certainly pull off what he wears very well. All - For all you guys that have never tried thigh boots, you missing a lot of fun. I dream of a world where chickens can cross roads without having their motives questioned.

Rockpup Posted January 30, 2006 Posted January 30, 2006 I'll have to get some daylight photos on the bike soon.. havnt had much time to ride in the last few weeks though. Thanks for the compliments Jim (formerly known as "JimC")
heelsRus Posted January 30, 2006 Posted January 30, 2006 I'll have to get some daylight photos on the bike soon.. havnt had much time to ride in the last few weeks though. Thanks for the compliments Jim No time to ride the last few weeks??!? I haven't ridden since ...... um ... August? (grumble, grumble) Do you do much off-roading? In boots? Riding in the dirt is just way too much fun :-) What year is the bike? Any mods or problems with it?
Rockpup Posted January 31, 2006 Posted January 31, 2006 its a 05 suzuki drz400. The only mods were radiator protection, skid plate, and worked over the carb for better throttle responce. I also put on better offroad tires. I've not gone offroading in heeled boots as the foot pegs are a bit aggressive I'd tear up my boots very fast. I'm also still getting used to riding in the dirt again, I had a sportbike for a couple years but had to get rid of it. (formerly known as "JimC")
Thighbootguy Posted February 2, 2006 Author Posted February 2, 2006 This morning I was running about an hour late when I made my grocery stop. I went in wearing black leather thigh boots with 4” stiletto heels. The register clerk went out of her way to be chatty and another clerk commented “your running late this morning” as I walked by. Maybe they were just glad to see that I wasn’t wearing a skirt again but folks just seemed to be extra friendly this morning. Great start for the day. JimC - HeelsRus - I don’t think I will ever get a motorcycle, not because I don’t want one but a whole lot of other reasons will prevent it. But I have ridden my bicycle, (26” Puegeot touring bike), wearing thigh boots with a 2” block heel. This was years ago and the only comment I got was one girl called out, “Look at those boots”, and gave me a nice smile. I think when I get back on that bike it will kill me because it has been several years since I have ridden but I plan on trying. Short trips (around the block) first then I’ll see what happens. It really is fun to ride in boots. This is a Photoshop image but you get the idea: I dream of a world where chickens can cross roads without having their motives questioned.
Thighbootguy Posted February 3, 2006 Author Posted February 3, 2006 Today is Friday and that means jeans at work and that means royal blue thigh boots with 5” stiletto heels. When I stopped at the grocery this morning I must have been really feeling good. I noticed I was walking in full stride with 5” heels. There were few people in the store that would notice but I sure felt good walking around. The register was being run by a clerk that is a very nice lady but I knew didn’t think too much of the way I have been dressing. She started off with a cheerful “How are you this morning?” I said, “I’m really fine this morning, things are starting well.” I have worn a leather skirt into the store before and I knew she didn’t like that so after she rang up my items I said “I know you didn’t approve of the skirt, but do you think the boots are too much?” “I think they are.” “Well … thank you, I appreciate it” I really was glad she finally told me what she thought of the way I looked. It added a little more to the knowledge base of how people react to a guy wearing thigh boots with heels. I dream of a world where chickens can cross roads without having their motives questioned.

Thighbootguy Posted February 4, 2006 Author Posted February 4, 2006 I stopped at Sam’s on the way home from work wearing blue jeans, a light blue denim shirt and my blue thigh boots with 5” stiletto heels. I really didn’t need much so I wandered around for a while. The register clerk was the first lady that over a year ago told me my boots “didn’t bother me none”. She greeted me by name (before she got my membership card). As she was ringing up my stuff I said, “Some people told me I had on too much blue”. She looked me over and said, “Too much blue? .... There is no such thing”. We bid each other a pleasant good evening. Shafted - Your right. I was glad to get some honest feedback but I still enjoy going out heeling in my boots. I’m not ready to stop. I dream of a world where chickens can cross roads without having their motives questioned.
