So, the little flappy handle on one of my Pleaser boots broke so I improvised with a small keyring.

Is this a good idea?

Looks like a great idea to me! Very well done as far as looks go. And if it functions appropriately, you have a great solution.

I had to do the same with a brand new pair of boots. The zip was very stiff and the metal tab snapped off. It wasn't worth sending the boots back, especially as they fit well. I've put a small keyring like that on the zip.

Maybe change out the other side so they match.

Maybe even tie a leather strip thru the ring, would make it easier to pull.

That'll work!  Looks classier than a paper clip too  :cheeky:

Zipper pulls come loose on luggage all the time.  You can buy replacements at a local fabric or fabric-y craft store, or of course on line.
