Blacksheep
I have been wondering how far different people manage to walk at a time. I have been walking about 4 kilometersthree of four times aweek. the furthest I have walked at a time with out a break, is just over 8 kilomters. I prefer walking in my heeled hiking boots which have a small 4" block heel which are quit comfortable. I did a two K walk in the weekend at night wearing my 5.5" stilettos with a 1.5" platform. I even go a blister in such a short walk yet I wear them a lot but not so much for walking. This thread is not meant as a competion but to get some insight into who does what ps an easy way to measure your walks is using google earth and in their tools section, select Path then how ever units you want to measure by Blacksheep
Tacchi Alti
Does Google Earth measure the Garden Path? Seriously though, it really depends on how confident people are wearing heels publicly, how high the heels are, how much practice they've had, etc. 'Come, and trip it as ye go On the light fantastic toe.' Foxyheels
I don't tend to walk any sort of deliberate distance when I go out public heeling as it's usually around a shopping area or out at a social function. I would say six hours walking around the shops is the most I have done, I must clock up a few miles during this time. High heels are the shoes I choose to put on, respect my choice as I repect yours. pebblesf
I have walked several miles in my 3" cowboy boots. I can do a couple of miles comfortably in 4" thigh boots, about a half mile in my 5" crotchers... I want to work very hard to increase these distances, and decrease my self-concious/insecure barriers...
Glosha
Half hour is not a probleem for me in my 4" Pleasers. More I just couldn't pull as my GF got chilly and we went back to the car. Did driving in traffic for 1.5 hrs. My girl even made me run for a bit for fun. Hope it will get wormer here in Toronto, so my girl will try to push me further to get tired leggs and blisters as she don't want me to wear heels. Her approximate timeline is to spend 2 hours for me in heels to get fed up with them. Yesterday when I was driving in heels she wanted to burn them.

maninpumps
On average I wear 4.5" heels. I would have to get a pedometer for the average distance. I wear 5-6 " heels annually in the woman-less pageant for 5 hours and make as many as 6 laps around the football field. Last year I collected $850.00 in donations for the American Cancer Society. I must say that is the most fun a guy could have in heels.

I usually wear heels when in a crowd, in example when I go out clubbing in central London. I go out in the afternoon and come back home at night covering a long way in between. Anyway, I found that it's easier to hide in plain sight than in the dark. I feel more secure in a crowded square or in a club than in a dark street at night with nobody around (even if at the beginning I thought otherwise). roniheels
I have walked a mile in 5" stiletto high heels (Walk a Mile in Her Shoes event). I to have spent a day walking around in a mall in 5" stiletto high heels. Don't know how far I walked, but it was for several hours. I went dancing one night in the same high heels for about five hours that evening.

HappyinHeels
I spent two hours in 5" wedge heels and two hours in 6" sandals with stiletto heels while shopping at Mall of America last year and several hours wearing knee-high boots with a 5.5" stiletto heel while shopping in Chicago this year. The most time I ever wore an extreme heel was 4 hours at a Halloween party in 2005- 8.5" metallic gold platform sandals and a dress of the same color. I have not logged the same kind of miles though as folks like roniheels or thighbootguy et al. HappyinHeels:wave:
Slides 'n Heels
I don't go out that high (or not yet ?). My highest heels are 4" and i had only short walks in them for about 10 minutes or so. In 3" boots i am more experienced. The longest walk must have been for 3 km. (about 2 miles). During the summer holidays i love to wear wooden slides. One pair with 2.5" inch heels i can wear the whole day without any restrictions. The longest distance i have walked in them is just a rough guess, i would say 4 miles. Maybe more. But on 2.5" it should be easy, isn't ? love to watch them on cute girls, love to wear them myself
Blacksheep
Thanks for the the amazing comments. We are all so different, all do different things in heels, and have different abilities and desires. The hardest thing about wearing heels is having to take them off, especialy if they are comfortable. That is whuy I have posed the question to find out what many of us achieve, and in many cases is as much if not more than many women do in heels. thanks for all the comment, and I look forward to reading more Blacksheep
SleekHeels
I've worn my heels for a full 10-hour working day on several occasions now, but that's mostly sitting at a desk. I'll walk up to about half a mile at a time in my usual height of 4.5" but I'll happily go further than that in 3.5" (especially boots with socks rather than courts barefoot). I have no issue changing into flats to walk longer distances if it means I can change back into my heels and be comfortable wearing them longer. If you like it, wear it. Heel-Lover
Hi Blacksheep, I don't measure my walks as such, because I spend so much time in heels its too complex to drill into. I wear heels all day, usually approx 6inch super skinny stilettos without platforms. You know - similar style as the heels I've worn when we've had some catch ups. The longest walk in one go that I can recall an approximate distance on would be from a Restaurant/Bar in Belfast back into the city central- approx 3k I have been told. I was in a group and we'd had a few drinkies (so chose not to drive!) and were going to out on the town. That was in a pair of red 6inch pumps The highest I have worn would be 7inches which is a ludicrous height, and I could only walk 3-4 blocks in those! My arches/ ankles are so flexed in these its crazy. The style of heels and surfaces walked on play the biggest role in determining how far you can go. I was in Auckland City the other weekend at the Sky City Casino, staying in a hotel just 2 blocks from there, and that walk on those pavements with their changing cambers, manhole covers, concrete, ceramic tiles then asphalt surfaces forever changing, as well as uphill and downhill etc.. It was hard work travelling just two blocks in a pair of evening shoes!! I was so pleased to get my heels off, my ankles were very tired. Mind you I was pretty drunk at the end of that evening but it doesn't usually mkae too much difference to how 'tired' my feet get. XtremeHeels
I have never calculated how far I have walked in a pair of heels. I did however want to see how long I could walk for in a pair of my 6.5 inch stiletto's ( without a platform!!! ) and I was able to go for one and a half hours of continuous walking. Yes, I can walk in 6.5 inch heels!!!

Shafted
I have no idea how far I've walked in high heels but I did spend a day walking all over Rome in 4 inch stiletto boots. Much of that time was spent walking on cobblestones. Shafted, the boots that is! Marion
Walking is less tiring than standing without moving... I walked miles without problems in up to 4 inches heels, but standing without moving or dancing for a long time is much more tiring for me ! Guest
I'll agree also, standing around whether in a queue or watching a band puts the pressure on but then I hate standing around long anyway. The only real thing that does restrict either distance or standing, is seams laying at the wrong place on the toes. That is my killer! I've covered two miles regularly and I'm always wary of tip wear. Al
