But there is a difference. I see you, @Jkrenzer, in long pants, but its another thing to wear heels with hairless legs and (short) shorts. I know first hand. The junxtaposition with a white beard might be too much.

What's missing is the wife's reaction to the facial hair. They usually have an important opionion on these things.
I agree, facial and smooth legs might be too much. Although I don't shave my legs, they are basically hairless now do to old age and taping. So facial hair and the hairless legs would look strange on me too.

I go high tech with a tripod, full frame DSLR and a programmable self timer - but I’m not shooting images of myself in heels. I shoot a lot of expedition stuff but don’t know enough about fashion shoots to be able to do a decent job of shooting myself or my boots in any kind of stylish way and so I don’t. It’s why I never post images here
Most here shoot their pictures on their phone. But I shoot picture on my dslr. That's why they are almost all from one place. My tripod is being used elsewhere. But you will never know if your skill set incudes fashon photography without trying. Besides there is no film cost in trying with a dslr.

Same for me. Except I will try to get rid of 2 before buying one! Until only approximately 10 pairs left.
That's an inpressive goal @Pierre1961. It would take several decades for me to get down to 10 even at 3 for 1.😄

I'm different than most here. I liked women's heels but had no longing to wear them. In the 70's and 80's I had 2 heels. Then in 2010 I dicovered my feet fit women's shoes better than men's. I had very few men's shoes and hated shoe shopping because nothing really fit. However, once I found shoes that fit, my view of shoe shopping changed, suddenly it was an enjoyable activity. I found the benifits of high heel for my body and now my walk-in shoe closet is busting at the seams.

You need to experiment with skinny jeans and pumps. Not all skinny jeans are the same. First you have rise, super high, high, mid, low. Then there is lenght; I have different lenght skinny jeans, above the ankle and at the ankle are just two of them, 24" 27.5" 28", 29", etc. If your boot is tight at the ankles, then you want a shorter jean, less material around the ankle. It also depends on where the shoe ends and the jeans begins and how much space between the two you want.
So it depends on the look you want, the theatre. I'm a little bit bold and have almost everything BUT pumps.

Judging by the number of men who give me positive compliments when I wear tall boots, I think more men want to wear them but don't because of societal pressure.
-
How about the guy that wears knee high stilettos in the summer with short shorts?
What is bold somewhere might be normal in other places. And what someone thinks is bold might be old hat to others.
Walking in pumps in a mall and walking in pumps at work are very different. One place is with strangers, the other is with people that know you and see you everyday. I shopped in a large and busy shopping mall in wedges (4 inch) and compression/performance leggings the other day. I felt tht was bold. And I got many second, third, fourth looks.
For now, walking in 4 inch heels is bold.

Maybe I should have a work and Boots thread ... 😄
Have only worn boots to work this month. I'm running out of different boots. Must buy more ... lol
Worn these last week to work got two compliments, one from a woman, one from a man.
These are my easy to wear Ompo Owney, only a 3.75 inch net (9.6 cm). Man made material. I got these blue one to channel my inner Elvis.
Had to stop by a very large shopping mall Friday around 5 pm. I had compression legging and and my OLD wedges-mules.
Maybe it was because many people where shopping for Valentine's Day or on dates, but I saw many women in 3 + inch heels. A good sign.

3) I know I'll catch a lot of flak for this, and that's fine, but I have never understood this "moving up to boots" business. It seems to me that boots are the easy ones to wear as a guy. It's the pumps and sandals, the more delicate footwear, that is a step up in boldness. Of course, some people actually like boots. Some people are very enthusiastic about boots. I happen to not be one of those people.
Here's an opinion from a guy who wears them all, from delicate sandals to knee high boots, long pants to short shorts. Wear tall boots with block heels under your pants is very easy, no harder than booties with block heels. I think this is starting to become mor acceptable. But once you wear boots on the outside, it starts to change. And when you wear 4 (net) inch knee high stlettos outside your jeans or with short shorts it gets bolder. Add in some leggins ...
Is it as bold as stilleto pumps, I have no experiences there. Pumps hate my feet. But ankle lenght jeans and this boot (at work) is bold.
Or this knee high

Sometimes the chain will have a website that will tell which stores in a certain region has that shoe in your size in stock. Saves driving around. I've been wearing skinny jeans for years now since I like to wear my knee high boots on the outside.

@pebblesf I suppose it would a little difficult to be a Flight Attentend from home.
I've done freelance work and have written books from my home office for decades. You have due dates that keep you going. I like to go in though because I know I will have my heels on for at least 6 hours. And I get to wear more styles.

Pandemic is over, killed those who couldn't survive now it's basically a cold. Get back to office and socialize. I've had covid as many times as the vacation, 3.
It's really time to move on.
I really like my 5 foot commute compare to a 40-45 minute drive over a curve mountain freeway in the EARLY morning. I haven't had covid (to my knowledge) and I have major surgery coming up in April, so I want (need) to stay that way. This spring I need to be on-site 2 days a week and 2 days off-site.
Thanks @Shyheels. Real suede. They have a platform, so it's only a net 4 inch rise, but very comfortable. Bonus is they fit my calves. I have other JS booties with the same basic profile and they are all very easy to walk in.
Too bad I only found these too late to get another color.

That's a snake skin pattern.

Sorry @spikesmike, there is a point that you have too many shoes. When you need to get a much larger walk-in closet just for your heels.
I'm don't know how many I have, buts it north of 80. And few (8) are un-opened new replacement heels still in their box. I have some mainly for winter and a few for summer.I have 6 knee high boots and I have been looking for more (why). Pre-pandemic I wore a different pair to work everyday. People would drop by just to see my heels. I have been working from home since the pandemic and don't wear many different ones.
I have a few pairs I need to get rid of, they don't fit right or not in good shape to wear to work.
-
I have many duplicates (different colors) of heels bought about the same time. If I like the shoes, I will sometimes buy a second pair in a different color before they are gone. I haven't check them all, but those I have check have been the same height.

My trouble is not just the length but the narrowness - in that regard women's lasts are much better width for me. They just don't come long enough. And often men's shoes are simply too wide. I could never wear Puma trainers, for example, because no matte what the size, they were far too wide.
Although I have mostly size 10 some 11 (US women's) feet, I have strange pear shape feet. Large thick toe box, skinny heel. For too many decades I suffered through men's shoes, 9.5 EEE. I could get my toe box in but then have over 1 cm gap on each side of the heel. This lead to multiple ankle problems, injuries, and surgeries. This issue stopped when I "discovered" women's shoes fit my feet.
I went from hating shoe shopping and having few shoes to enjoying shoe shopping and having over 80 heels.

I went to a DSW (aka Designer Sneakers Warehouse) for the first time in 6 months yesterday. This store use to have 20% sneakers, 6 months ago it was 50% and now 75%. Sad, really sad.
I searched the discount racks - saw nothing I wanted. I did find a pair of Vince Camuto clogs that I liked. But my heel stuck out a little and a women trying of some club shoes told me to go out a half size. But that was their highest size. So I decided to look online to see if they had large sizes. They were not on the DSW website. So I searched the Vincecamuto website and found they came in up to size 12. And they were $30 cheaper! But the heel differential was low, under 3.5 inch (8.9 cm) so I passed.

Today was a strange day. First there was snow on the way in to work this morning. This happens once or twice a year. We could get snow on the beach tonight.
Today my “outfit” consisted of my black Ompo Owney (lshort) knee high boots (4-inch heels), a camel turtleneck and a leopard sherpa.
I had a women stop and tell me how much she liked the whole look and another one tell me how she liked my sherpa.
However, this is a heel site. On the way home I stopped at a sporting goods store. I needed new ski poles, broke one a few weeks ago. The male worker helping me in the ski area asked me how “hard it was to walk in them.” I told him they were easy, short only 4 inchers.
While I was paying, another guy came up behind me and asked “what size?” I told him 11 and they faux suede and cheap. He also talked about finding size 11 in boots. He definitely was a heel wearer. The store was busy, and I was in the process of paying for my goods. I had to move on after paying for my goods and never had a complete conversation with him. But maybe seeing a guy in high heels out in public might encourage him.
