  1. I wear lots of open toe shoes with out socks or stocking, so I want my feet and toes to look good.  I've been getting pedicures for over 16 years.  I enjoy the lower leg massage and foot scrubbing. My pedicurist remarked that I getting the same pads that women who wear heels get. I'm a regular, so I know many of the other clients. I have heard some wild things from some of these women, it's a side of women many men never see.  LOL

I either wear shorts or leggings in so I can pull them up.  Each time it is different color scheme - design - art. Red and pink hues are very, very rare; I might have red in a black with red stripe zebra design.  I have 10 pieces of art on my toes that I like to change monthly.

  2. I visited my mother for her birthday shortly after I tore my calf and it was still too swollen to wear pants. Heels and/or a scooter was my only way to get around so she saw me in heels.  Which is good since I wear heels almost all the time. But I haven't shown her my colored toenails.

She just turned 101 a few months ago, unfortunately she is starting to lose it.

  3. I remember all the nice heels I saw in the stores and on the streets in Argentina in 2015. But I couldn't look at them or try them on in person.  Too bad.

There once was a brand, Cathy Jean, that had their shoes made in Argentina, I have only one pair but they are very well made.  Too bad they went out of business.

I actually injured myself (slightly) trying to parody how a young security guard used to react to me at the social media site where I work. I didn't think that was possible, but I guess I'm getting old. To be clear and G rated, she used to jump up and down and throw her arms up in the air, and yell "Squirrel! Squirrel! Squirrel!" when she saw my car coming up to the entrance gate. I'm not making this up. Ask my coworkers. This slight injury doesn't affect my ability to wear heels at all, luckily. It only affects my ability to do my job. So, no problem.

I see workman's compensation for your injury at work.

You guys are so lucky to be able to wear sandals in public. It's closed toes for me only, even for men's shoes. My toenails are so hideous they have been declared super fund sites.

Stop being envious and do something about it. Toenail problems can indicate other issues. Take care of your health, you want to wear high heels for as long as you can.

  6. Market driven, Law of Large Numbers. Do you want 50% of a small market or 5% of a huge market. If I write an entry level book and get 10% of the market, that could mean 500,000 copies sold whereas a high end book might get 80% of the market and sell only 30,000 copies.  The ideal situation is 80% of a large market.

I've not been here for a while, and just found this post. Now, I'm curious - are there any folks who have actually had a medical pro "prescribe" or even recommend wearing heels? I'm sort of recalling that some years ago someone popped up on these forums claiming that was the case, I don't recall the name nor recall seeing anything from him recently. Just wondering...

3.75 to 4.5 inch  is my sweet spot for pain reduction, so I wear heels all the time.

  8. Tried to do a little shoe shopping today.  Is there any truth to the rumor that DSW is changing their name to Designer SNEAKER Warehouse?  Row upon row of sneakers.  So sad.

  9. I started to get pedicures over a dozen years ago when I started to have problems with my thumb. Only clear polish back then.  One day I was persuaded to try a tint. That was the start of the "down fall" into color. 🤣  Then for years it was OPI Kyoto Pearl,  a whitish pearl.  All the time in open toe shoes. I now wear color with designs, each time different. Today I have an egg shell blue with a blue sparkle shimmer on top and purple dots.  (Think Easter egg.)

I have diabetes so foot care is very important.  And my podiatrist loves my nail color.  I get compliments from both women and men.  I really think there is a growing group of men that want to have their toes painted.

  10. Leggings have made their way into mainstream men's fashion.  If you Google "men's leggings" you will get thousand of results.  Many of the athletic/sports companies now sell these.  The compression legging are very popular with athletes. And some of the women's legging manufactures have come out with "unisex" and male leggings.  So don't be afraid of leggings.

  11. @Shyheels, some bike shorts are more revealing than leggings.  There is a whole gamete of legging, from very thin to jegging which are basically thin pants.  I have them all and wear them all.  I use legging as a base layer when skiing and on very cold stormy days I might have two pair on.  I use them when I kayak, I have some with ankle zippers and I unzip when I load and unload. If I tip over, they wont fill with water

Some leggings have texture, like the ones I have on today. I have wore these out in public many times.  Leggings are just comfortable skinny pants.  But be careful @SF, you may like them then you will have to really convince your wife.  Does she wear leggings?

My lower back hurts occasionally as well.  Funny, the more physical labor I do the more it hurts, hmmmm.  Maybe a connection?  Plus it didn't hurt 30 years ago?  Getting old ain't for sissies.

I haven't noticed that wearing heels makes by back hurt less, but wearing heels jump starts my endorphins making me relaxed and happier that I already am, well most of the time.  smile...  Enjoy your heels, for whatever reason you wear them!!  sf

Maybe you should try higher heels and see how it effects your back.  What can you lose (other than the pain)?
