  1. Just found this thread... I don't understand, why would anyone actually want shortened tendons? What possible benefit could they provide? A double edge sword for sure. True, you work from home so can wear nice heels whenever, but your boat and those paths make it near impossible! A bid downside to my recent retirement is not being away on layovers and enjoying my heels publicly. The best I can do right now is slip into my block heeled ankle boots while out do errands by myself. I have gotten to the point of leaving my boots in the car clearly visible to my better half, who is not happy about it. Oh well. I need to get to the point of just putting them on with him present, it will go badly, but needs to happen. It is like you say, wearing tall heels requires competence and confidence. Fumbling around, or trying to stay "hidden" while out in public will draw negative attention and lead to emtional set backs. So, it is super important that the heels you choose to wear fit well, and are relatively comfortable. I'm convinced that many tall heels were never meant to leave the insidde of your home. I was so happy when I found my nine west booties with 4.5-5" stiletto heels, fit well, comfortable, and fairly easy to walk in!
  2. You look great, and I'm betting those tall heels were fairly comfortable
  3. For sure, someday I will have a pair for sure.
  4. Those booties are amazing, great for any occasion or terrain! Boy o boy, love all those boots and booties, excellent choices indeed. You look great in the tights as well, I'm so envious! I am totally in love with black tall heeled boots...
  5. Yes indeed, logger boots can have some nice heels as well
  6. LOVE those red boots.
  7. I had another pleasant experience at Home Depot, just looking for a large rubber mat to fit under the sink. A delightful young woman went out of her way to approach me asking if I needed help finding something, which was a bit shocking in itself! After explaining what I was looking for, I thought I heard her say something about my boots, but almost under her breath. I thanked her for the percieved compliment, and she went on to say that she couldn't wait for the weather to cool down so she could wear her boots again.
  8. Teenage girls are the worst, especially to one another! Just the nature of their age and competitiveness. My worst experience was going up an escalator at a mall with teenage girls behind me, they were all giggling. "Never let em see you sweat". Like MLP says, engaging young girls usually disarms them pretty quickly, making it obvious you are not intimidated. For me, one geniune compliment usually cancels ten unpleasant encounters. I have reached the age where I don't care much about what others think, I like the way I look in boots, even if I am older. That being said, I do enjoy and appreciate compliments, it is nice to have my choices in boots validated. The only other lousy situation I had was when the heel gave out on my Zodiac boots! I had to walk back to the hotel dragging one foot to keep the heel/sole from flopping around!
  9. Please don't give it a second thought, we all have "our own slant" on styles we prefer for sure! I, like yourself, prefer regular boots with no platforms, but that is just me. I really like many different styles, but am extremely particular at the same time! We all "love what we love"! Great way to relax for sure, great boots, some wine and a smoke.. All the best Don
  10. Welcome Prima, so glad you didn't let your boots go to the thrift shop. I've got some years on you but still enjoy wearing my 4.5" classic stiletto boots, and find them fairly easy to walk in and not at all uncomfortable. Hoping you will give stiletto ankle boots another chance though, they are very stylish as well...
