  1. Had to convert the 12cm to inches so I could get a better understanding of the heel height. Somewhere around 4.75". Usually, my limit is right around 4" for reasonable comfort and good walking ability in my stiletto boots. Sure, I can "walk" in higher heels, but not very well, or for very long, without discomfort. So much depends on the design/engineering of the heel/boot/sole. I am so thrilled to have found some nine west stiletto ankle boots with heels somewhere between the 4.75-5" range that are relatively comfortable. More importantly, I can walk in them fairly confidently with minimal discomfort. Your boots look great, and I surely understand how great it feels to be able to wear/walk confidently in them! Wearing them to work on a day when you would be alone in the office was a smart plan indeed. I find that much of my "timidness" in my various stiletto booties/boots is caused by being concerned about wrecking the heels prematurely while out and about. I have spoiled a few heels on my favorite pairs which was very upsetting. So, I think I tend to "walk gently" in my boots, without even thinking about it, in an attempt to avoid ruining them. I'm thinking this works against progress in the long run though. On a positive note, was wearing my 3.5" block heeled ankle boots in Home Depot yesterday, these boots are great for everyday chores, shopping, etc. Super easy to walk in, without the worry of damaging stiletto heels. Was trying to navigate the damn self check out, god forbid you try to pay with cash! A very nice younger attendant came by to help then complimented my boots. I spent a minute or so chatting with him and thanking him for taking the time to compliment me.
  2. For sure, there has to be a balance between fashion and comfort. 7.5hrs is heels is amazing, my feet would hurt after being in Nikes for 7.5hrs.....
  3. Boy o boy, they are beautiful! I'm so envious
  4. Well, they are beautiful for sure, and I'm sure you walked just fine in them. Three hours in those heels is something to feel good about indeed! Here is a question for everyone, what is "patent leather"? I'm assuming it is real leather, but never understood how it is produced. Needless to say, I love patent leather!
  5. I think you make a valid point here. The women may feel just a bit "threatened" by your great style looking so good in heels, they "justify" giving up on heels with the various explanations. Don't ge me wrong, I have the utmost respect for most women and understand that their bodies have been put through much more stress/strain/changes than us guys can imagine....
  6. Very intriguing. Did he say where he saw you? How long has it been since you guys "hung out" together? I'm sure the guy feels very uneasy asking you about wearing heels, but sure seems like the interest is there. Can't wait to hear more...
  7. Same here. So many years wasted with self doubt. I guess one benefit of my advancing age is that I am much less affected by "what others might think". For the most part, I think I look great in boots and jeans. "Too little too late" I guess, but that is OK. I punished my young self so severely, such a waste. My life would be complete if I could help at least one guy get over these silly "social norms" that seem to have a strangle hold on us.
  8. Don't do that to yourself. You have taken good care of yourself and look better than many younger folks. So sorry the wife isn't a bit more supportive, I have similar issues with my better half.
  9. Tough to remember, because i progressed gradually. All started with 2" block heeled Frye Campus boots and cowboy boots, always looking for cowboy boots with taller heels. I made many thrift store purchases also. My first actual purchase was online, a few pairs of Pleaser boots.
  10. Precisely. Regular guys wearing nice boots and outfits that isn't some crazy over the top design for the runway. But, I guess our "carpet" is our day to day travels going about our lives in public.
  11. Now these look great and fit nicely
  12. So true, I always know the brand name of my boots, sometime the model name as well. But, good luck finding them...
  13. For sure. Furthermore, these boots and outfit were probably just grabbed "off the shelf" and given to the model to wear, no time for custom fitting, etc.
  14. They are nice boots, but sure don't fit his legs very well. The important thing is that he is wearing them, perhaps helping to normalize guys wearing great boots
  15. OK, so the guy that "gave you the once over" was the same guy at the counter, correct? When you say "once over", did you feel it was a positive once over? Any curiosity as to how the conversation would have gone had it occurred? I have reacted the same way when encountering fellow crewmembers on a layover.
  16. Those boots are amazing
