  2. My account doesn’t show any red number. Besides, the mail box was full and couldn’t receive any more.
  3. I think there is a height beyond which you shouldn’t go for work wear. I would say 3.5” to 4” would be tops. Five inches for evening wear. i think there is a reason the likes of Louboutin do not make heels higher than 5”. As for me I too prefer classic styles and clean lines. Heels high enough to matter but without overwhelming the rest of the boot and making it all about the heel. The heel is important sure, but it is a part of an overall look and style, im of the belief that less is often more
  4. I’ve about a dozen pairs of boots and in my sharply downsized life that is more than sufficient
  5. That’s a very impressive walk! I did a similar distance on Sunday - to a pub for lunch and then back again - but I was in boots with chunky 3.5” heels. That was enough
  6. Today
  7. Excellent heels. Pumps are great year around.
  8. I know that. I was pointing out it's difficult not to know you have pm's
  9. I did something that I rarely do during warm weather. I wore actual enclosed shoes to church. I did so because as I posted in the New Shoes section, I bought some pumps specifically to wear to church (and maybe a few other places). I keep saying that I do not need any more shoes, but I bought two more pair last week. These Steve Madden pumps, and a pair of Frye wooden heeled sandals. Sometime I'll post the Fryes--they're kind of interesting, but I thought the coffee color of the pumps was really beautiful, and the lady offered to sell them for 20 bucks plus shipping. The rest of my outfit was based around the shoes. I often do that, but it was very particular on this Sunday, because I had decided to wear the shoes well in advance. So I picked out some earth-toney stuff I thought went with the coffee color, and then I realized, "Hey, wait a minute. . . It's Pentecost." To some of you, this will mean absolutely nothing. For others, you are chuckling to yourselves right now. Let's put it this way--the red tie is an add-on and an afterthought, but I think it works. I even got complemented on my tie. But not my shoes.
  10. Trump talks pro crypto at a rally. Democrats (Warren and Gensler who is the SEC anti crypto chair) suddenly realize crypto is a voting issue. SEC requests for accelerated amendments to ETH ETF applicants signaling Ethereum ETF approval imminent. ETH ETF gets approved Crypto markets rocket to the moon. Welcome back to the fabled alt coin bull run, where everything skyrockets. Irrational upside.

    Mail Box

That's the number of unread email messages.
  12. I must be the unicorn here because I see several women a week in high (3.5+inch) heels. And mostly stilettos. My foot doctors have advised me to wear at least a 2 inch heel, but I have a 1% foot. (1% or few of the population has feet like mine.)
  13. I have lots of luck there I have plenty of luck there. A good portion of my collection comes from thrift stores. But you are right, it is a committment. You have to make the rounds regularly to have success. I have a few that I frequent locally. At least once a week.
  14. Crazy, but my account puts a big red number right next to the mail icon.
  15. Yesterday
  16. They’ll be back. All part of this endless cycle of fashion and trends
  17. So, I just found out about these Nike wedges but not from reading this post. I might pick-up a pair in my size even though they may not "technically" be wedges. I am looking for good "summer shoes" as I am not really into wearing open toe sandals for a variety of reason (don't want to paint my toenails, the peanut gallery at work offering envious critiques...). I was recently overseas and picked-up a great pair of black wide leg pants (or trousers ) that are just a bit too long for flats, but would be ideal with a slight heel. As I am looking for a fashionably casual out, they would be idea. Beside, I have been wearing narrower pointed-toe heels lately that has caused some issues with both of my pinky toes...nothing that a bit of TLC can not fix.
  18. Thanks for the replies. I would have agreed women wearing proper heels ie above 4 inches is unlikely to return but then I thought back to the period of 95 to 2005 for example. I dont recall seeing many women in the offices and bars wearing them then either, that came bk a few years later....so who knows.
  19. In the battle between those of us who like to wear or like to see others wear stylish high heels or very high heels and podiatrists, the podiatrists are currently winning. Their lack of fashion sense, taste and, the insistence that everyone wear flats is an abomination to the senses and the imagination.
  20. Last night, while watching the Atlanta Braves Baseball Team being soundly trounced by San Diego, I was half heartedly messing around with my IPad and opened the mail box feature of Hhplace. I discovered that it was over filled with unread messages of which I was completely unaware. Some dating as far back as 15 years. I began going through them and found them really interesting and informative. They were from friends and some members that I didn’t know, commenting on situations and subjects asking questions and seeking all kinds of advice. I also uncovered some relating to incidents long forgotten. Especially those sent by Kneehighs and Gina, Queen of heels. For the life of me, I cannot imagine how or why I forgot all about this feature. I certainly wasn’t consciously ignoring it. But, its existence just fell through the crack. And I can only apologize for not responding to the individuals that took time to try to communicate with me. I spent a couple of hours sorting things out, reducing the contents to 15 percent. So, as things stand, I sincerely apologize for not responding. And, I don’t believe that I will wait as long to check it again.
  21. I had intended to let my shoe collection remain at its present size for a while, but I ran across these Steve Madden Klory pumps in a color I don't have, which I'll call coffee colored. Coffee if you have added a little bit of cream, that is. Some might call them brown patent. The seller shot me an offer of 20 bucks, and I could not resist. I wore them yesterday for the first time, and they fit just like my other Klory pumps. Not something I would want to wear all day, every day, but good enough for cheap shoes. I have three flavors of Steve Madden pumps (four, if you count D'Orsay style), and the Klory model is my favorite for style. It features a 4 5/8" heel, making it just short of Louboutin So Kate territory, but only we would notice. The heel is 5/16" thick, and solidly built. I do not regret this purchase.
  22. For a website that has become a home for men who like to wear high heels, we sure spend a lot of time talking about "they, they, they." I'm guilty myself, but I don't tend to do it in a negative fashion. I'm happy, at least in a small way, when I do see a woman in the wild who actually still wears heels. As far as the attitudes about fashion and identity among the younger generation--I have a 15 year old son, I am around his friends, I can tell you for sure that my life is much easier and happier than it was 10 years ago as far as being accepted at face value. Let's look forward, not backward. The good old days weren't always good.
  23. Thing is, women say that they support and want to see men in heels and other feminine clothing, but for themselves they want a masculine dude. Listen to what they do, never what they say. Also, the whole crossdressing part is part of the LGHDTV brigade. And they are not making themselves popular with the majority of people. Better to stay away from lest we get tainted when the backlash against the LGHDTV brigade will happen. Although at the moment, if you are a white dude and want to get a job you now vastly increase your chances of getting hired showing up at the job interview wearing heels then in regular attire. After all, male and pale is stale, is now the mantra. Fashion is cyclical, and some things have fallen completely out of the public mind. Like corsets. Other then a minor resurgence where a small group of people will embrace them I don't EVER see them coming back in general fashion. And so will high heels. Women will still covet them, may want to own a couple of pairs, but most will never bother to learn how to wear them so it will be going out to an occasion and then sit down ASAP wear. And I think the professions where women used to be required to wear them, like in law, are under pressure to do away with this custom of the 'patriarchy'.
  24. Fashion is cyclical - always has been always will be. That's the very nature of fashion. Yes, fewer women are wearing heels at the moment, and for the reasons you say. It is not the same as corsets at all. Everybody wears something on their feet. There will continue to be diversity in styles, and shifting tastes. It is certainly easier for a guy to wear heels. I have been wearing my chunky heeled ankle boots (3.5" heels) and chunky heeled OTK boots in the old coal mining towns where I am now and do not attract any notice or attention whatsoever. Whether or not high heels are in fashion is largely irrelevant to me. They're in fashion with me. If I was worried about what everyone else was wearing, I'd never have started wearing heels in the first place.
  25. Well, maybe us men can take back our heels, seeing how women stole this fashion from us so many years ago!
  26. Chorlini is right. Women these days are more interested in maintaining their feminity in a more comfortable style while still identifying their “difference“ wearing highly decorated accessories. Hence the popularity around here of Crocks” in different colors and outrageously adorned buckles and bows. Additionally, there seems to be increasing interest in feminizing men, dressing them up and opposite role playing. Just take a look at some of the more popular social websites. While I can’t tell the extent this trend is practiced, I can recognize the decline in “open” disapproval of crossdressing men appearing in public. Perhaps this trend can be attributed to the increased publicity given to LGBT activities by the press because lately, outside of a few short inquisitive glances, there seems to be hardly any interest in my wearing girls shoes 👞 anywhere. (For example, l wore my tan booties with 1 1/2 inch heels to Church this morning and nobody showed any notice.) Perhaps this “live and let live” attitude will prevail or even increase over the next few years. I can’t say that it is a bad thing as long as society doesn’t impose conditions upon me that require my acceptance of their sexual identity situation. My preference is to remain entirely neutral because I have my own wants/desires.
