Don't know if this thread's been on before - apologies if it has, but i haven't seen it... I've been asked seriously not as a pisstake where i got what i was wearing several times by straight looking guys: okay not heels as such i appreciate but not regular guys' fashion: 1/ white plimsolls with red flowers and green leaves with matching shirt (answer urban republic) 2/ jeans with blue and grey denim plus brown cord and black leather stripes (answer miss sixty)

Just girls mostly. Never guys. I think they are intimidated by me and some what jealous of my physique, espically in the summer when I get a chance to show it off a bit. lol.

Yes I have. While at work, wearing my 4 1/2 chunky heel knee boots,I was talking to a customer about repairs needed to the vehicle we were servicing in our waiting room. After we decided on what to repair one of my other male customers stopped me just to say how much he liked my boots. Of course the other people waiting couldn't help but hear and had to have a look but no further comments. I have never had a bad comment, other than my wife who does disapprove, from anyone. Jim

I`ve been asked lots of times. Both straight and gay guys ask and make compliments. Last time in the underground on New Years eve a young straight guy sitting in front of me just ask if my shoes were confortable (4 inches chunky boots). I looked at him and he excused himself saying: "I`m not joking, I do not mean to be mean to you" and I smiled and explaind him that´s only a question of training and that they feel great. He said then that the heels looked great on me. It was not the only person that complimented me that night and it felt good!

This is one of the many reasons I am wearing heels in public more often now. It's interesting to get others opinions. I think it would be really great to get a positive complement from another guy, espically in front of my wife.

A few months ago I was out in Manchester wearing my avatar boots, and was sitting down with my legs crossed when a guy knocked into my foot on his way past. He looked at my boot, did a double-take, backed up for a better look and then said "Nice one, they're cool!" Chris

Just returned home from a week in Vegas, mostly in 4 or 5" heels. I was wearing some Enzo leather 4.5" ankle boots under my long slacks and walking through the Golden Nugget casino down on Freemont Street. A guy seated at a slot machine, but facing the other way (toward the walkway) saw me. As I walked by to my wife nearby, he said "are you wearing heels?" I said "yep!" and he said something about they look nice. First time I have had a guy say anything. It was cool. CJ

I was about to reply that the only “nice boots” complements I get are from women, and I do get some of those, but I looked back through the Thighboots in Public thread and found two posts where guys had said “nice boots”. One was a guard at an Art Museum in Florida and the other was a guard at the Indianapolis Art Museum. The guards at the Cincinnati Museum greet me like a long lost friend but I don’t recall them ever complementing my boots.

I dream of a world where chickens can cross roads without having their motives questioned.

Yes I have, but that really depends upon the question. If you are talking about regular "male" attire, yes, many times. As the "feminine" attire has not been out of the closet except for heels and that in a very limited fashion, then the answer would be no - but viewability has a lot to do with it.

It's all about the heel!

Your Vegas trip sounds fun. Did you Win Big?

I wish. Only won about $30 this trip. Did buy 3 pair of heels, some Steve Madden ankle boots that look like men's wingtips with a 4" heel, some cool 6" (with 1" platform) sandals and some soft leather Nine West ankle boots with a 4" heel. The Steve Maddens are tight across the top of the big toes so I didn't wear them out in Vegas but have the stretchers in them right now to make some room.

We went to the Yves Saint Laurent store at the Billagio and tried on their wonderful 6" heels but they only went to a size 41. They have 42 on the website but not in the store so I didn't buy them ($650). I was ready to drop the money cause they are my current favorite shoe on earth. Guess I will have to order online.

Back to the grind! Vacation is too short. At least I got to wear heels for a solid week. The verdict...no one cares and those that do, have nothing bad to say. It was a blast!

Complimentd by men? HA!! No way! I've never had that happen before, not when I used to wear heels at work or when I've been out in public. Sure, I've gotten a fair amount of odd looks and double takes from guys, but compliments? Never!

I don't want to LOOK like a woman, I just want to DRESS like a woman!

I beleive that this is really not going to happen any time soon in our (western) society because of all the ignorance in our culture when it comes to guys/guys paying compliments to each other in this way, a lot of different factors come into play here, it is very complicated to say the LEAST.

I did a house foundation inspection wearing some clunky heeled mules from Payless. They have a heel that is as wide as it is tall, which is about 2-1/4". The owner of the house thanked me for the advice on his concrete problems, then asked me where I bought my shoes. He said he always likes new ideas in fashion. Unfortunately they were so old, that Payless no longer carried them. I did not mention he would have to look in the womens isle.

YES!!!!!!! I was just at the Barnes and Noble, with a skirt and stocking, plus my stilletoe boots. I was talking with this guy cause I was asking question when all of sudden a guy looked at me and said "nice boots". I was surprise, and said thank you. Plus, he said he understands about the skirt cause he wears a kilt, therefore, they are more comfortable. GREAT!!!!

Last week I was at Target looking for a shoe that I could try wearing at work that I had seen on their web site. The shoes look like a loafer with a 3" chunky heel and they had one pair my size half off(size 11us) I wanted to try them on before I bought them and I was looking for a bench not being used when I saw aonther man trying on a pair of ladies boots, when he saw me he started trying to take them off and I said don't hurry on my account it's ok. He said thanks and in a little bit I saw him walk to his cart where I suppose his wife was waiting and they walked off, so I got the shoes out of the rack and went to try them on. I put on the shoes and they fit like glove and just as I stood up that same guy walks around the corner and looks right at my shoes and says that look really nice on you I said thanks and then he took the box with the boots and left and I bought the shoes. After work that evening I put them on for the trip home and stopped at Walgreens to pick up a prescription for my wife and wore the shoes in the store no one noticed but one young lady in front of me in line and she said I like your shoes and I said thank you. Now just need the nerve to wear them to work. I wish I could wear my black 4" pumps to work.

I wore a pair of boots that I bought at Bakers into a video store one day. The guy behind the counter made an extra effort to compliment me on them. I was otherwise in drab.

One time I ventured to a gay dance club just to go dancing in high heels. After I told all that approached me that I was not gay, but enjoyed wearing high heels, most of the conversation the rest of the evening was centered around my shoes and it was all positive. Unfortunately, those have been the only positive comments toward me wearing high heels in public.

Yes ! First compliment from a guy ! Today i went on my own to the ideal home exhibition in london. I wore all black with the 5" ankle boots soulmate gave me, so i couls see above the crowds. A guy on one of the stands said "may i say, i like your boots". I thanked him and we got talking. He said he enjoyed looking at people and noticed things like that. He asked whether they were wedge boots, i said " no just regular heels, 5" ones". He was amazed that 1/ they were 5", and 2/ that i could walk happily all day round an exhibition in them. I think it made both our days....!

now that 5" heels are coming on mainstream, we enjoy them, as all sorts are available, even 6" as in office. Enjoy it while they are mainstream, and maybe the deadheads in mens fashion will tentatively do 2" heels with platforms for men.... lmao It's a step when i'm complemented on wearing heels, maybe the guy in question will think 'well if he can i can' ..... so spread the message...!

Got a fantastic compliment from a guy while in Nordstroms looking for BUT not finding a pair of T-Strap 5" closed toe pumps.

I was wearing my 5" stiletto heeled lace-up knee boots. He told me that I looked good in them and asked if they were comfortable. I told him they were and that wearing them was very enjoyable, that if I could I would wear them all the time. He encouraged me to continue doing what I enjoy, said he saw nothing wrong with me wearing them.

He and his wife thanked me picked up their purchase paid and left. I tried on a couple different pairs of open toe T-Strap sandles (to fem for me) thanked the sales lady, got a couple of complements from other ladie customers, then I left. What a rush, never in my life would I expect somthing like that to happen, :winkiss::nervous::sad:
