    • I can do it blindfold with a tray of champagne glasses in each hand!
    • I can just about do it
    • I can, but for practical purposes I hold on to the banisters
    • I can't, I have tried and it's too wobbly for me
    • I haven't tried and/or didn't have the opportunity

I actually have to navagate a narrow and steep staircase to the projection room at the theatre, sometimes with a box of film weighting up to 100 pounds and I do it in heels.

Whilst I'm sure it's not that important, how high are the heels you wear to work?

3-5 inches and always a spike or stiletto.

Well done!

I find carring heavy objects in my higher heels hard, and as for stair cases in such footwear while carrying.. wow - that is a very respectable effort!!

(I wear heels 80% of the time and wouldn't do that...I have once or twice been in such a situation, but I find it too hard, so I would change to flats/ go barefoot for safety or get someone to carry it for me...he he)

Cheers

Just imagine now those reels (anywhere from 5-9 2000 ft. reels of 35mm) all in one or 2 boxes.

The more I do it, the easier it's becoming. Now, I don't wear my heels outside, so it's just my staircase, but just the other day I walked them without holding the banister. When I proudly announced my accomplishment to the Mrs, she said she was unaware I'd gone upstairs, as I was very quiet. Is that what we're calling graceful?

Wow. My post was last...well, this will look kinda silly now haha! Today I was in my boots, just relaxing, doing some work around the house, and went upstairs to the bathroom. On the way down, wobbled, and slipped, but no harm done. I think perhaps I just got a bit too confident with it, a little complacent, and should have been concentrating.

This last Thursday I had to carry "The Hunger Games" up to the projection room. Seven full 2000ft. reels in one box. It was a heavy sucker (75-100 lbs.). I had to take it up one step at a time but I got it there in heels. In coming down those same stairs I have to side step due to the step landings being very narrow.

That's nearly as heavy as me. I can carry a hundred books at a time, but only in my head or my heart. And I still can't do the stairs very well.

Depending on what one's attire is, What may be carried at the time and who's looking? I fallen more times (up and down) that I wish to think about (thoughts of carpet burn knees and bum) either barefooted of in flats, incidentily I happened to mention to a female friend as she tripped at work that I only (to date) trip up in flats. Not sure if I really care, yes I do turn slightly but as I don't currently wear skirts I can pass on that. On a basis I am still standing thats ok with me :) Al
