EdwardianEra
Hi all, I can finally post a picture me wearing a skirt and heels! It's in sepia for a vintage look. I'm wearing a grey sweater, a white shirt and tie, a grey skirt and black faux-suede lace-up ankle boots with three inch heels. The white mark on the boots is the reflection of the flash, off of the aluminum aglets I put on the laces. Comments are appreciated. -EdwardianEra
CraigR
I like it. Looks good.
kneehighs
HappyFeat Thanks for adding your pictures. I appreciate how you kept with the streetstyle theme of this thread. Good job. Your outfits look well color coordinated, sharp with the white cuffs protruding from beneath your jacket, and the sling backs are to die for. Good job. NewfieGuyInHeels I am soo happy to see guys like yourself keeping the streetstyle theme of this thread alive. You look great in those free boots...and those Wal Mart shirts-- the lighter one especially-- are awesome. I'd totally wear that red/orange (Im a bit color blind) shirt, with one of your darker sport coats/jackets , and a pair of dark pants and pointy heels like you did HERE You could pull that look off in any NYC setting: from fashion week to clubbing. And your new boots with the white threads as seen in Post #682...good job matching them with your cool coat. EdwardianEra--First off, thanks for the pic. Second off, you have the perfect slim figure to pull off any type of heel. You have slim shoulders as well as a slim rib cage area, which lends itself to wearing heels perfectly. You are lucky you have a thin figure. As far as the outfit goes, its tough to tell from the pic how well you color coordinated your outfit. Based on what you said about the items, grey and black do work well together...so that is a good color combo choice. A grey sweater and a grey skirt will create a monochromed look, which will slim you even more. Until the eye reaches the shoes...at which point I think the personality and character of the shoes will speak louder than the heels. Feminine Style . Masculine Soul. Skin In The Game. ShockQueen
EdwardianEra - your pic speaks TRUE CLASS there. I like the pose and the composition. You pulled that off with style! NewfieGuyInHeels
Thanks alot Kneehighs!!!! I really appreciate the time you put into giving all that great feedback and advice. Next time I have my camera out, I'll deffinately try the burnt orange T/Black sport jacket/black jeans/pointed boots Outift for a pic And as for my Stiletto sneakers ( http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j7...ze/Shoes01.jpg ), I LOVE them, but I'm a little stuck on finding good outfits to go with them. They seem to make my feet look really small and somewhat unproportioned with my flare/bootcut jeans, and honestly the blueshirt/black jeans outfit I'm really not a fan of myself, just something a friend suggested I try. Here's 2 others I did with those shoes..... http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j78/darthraze/Me158.jpg http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j78/darthraze/Me161.jpg So if you ever find yourself board, or with a little time while on the site, I'd love some more tips/input/suggestions on my stiletto sneakers. Thanks again! http://s77.photobucket.com/albums/j78/darthraze/
smitty
Nice boots, EdwardianEra! I'm looking for a similar pair myself, but with a slightly higher heel. I also totally appreciate the "sepia" effect... and when I am, at last, lucky enough to find a pair like yours in my size, I plan on taking some "period" looking photographs - maybe with a few old-timey looking props thrown in to add to the overall nostalgic feel. Thanks for the post and the pic - keep it up!
NewfieGuyInHeels
Just wanted to try my Knee boots with my jeans rolled up, let me know what you think. Thanks! http://s77.photobucket.com/albums/j78/darthraze/

HappyFeat
First, I would like to offer thanks to HeelD for pointing out my error in posting my pictures. This is a fairly new process for me and I am happy for any feedback...techie wise and fasion wise. Also, thanks for the great feedback from Kneehighs! I wanted to try again, this time sharing some thrift store finds I recently came across. Today's pictures: Kakhi Clayborn 3 button suit (thrift store) Perry Ellis short sleeve, mock neck sweater (not thrift store) Chocolate Franco Sarto Mary Janes...about a 3 inch heel...found them on sale and just couldn't let them go. Frankly, I thought they were a bit dressy for jeans and bought this suit with them in mind. OK, I have tried again with the pictures. If it doesn't work, I am more than happy to keep trying to get it right. Style is built from the ground up!
HeelD
No worries HappyFeat! Glad to be of help. Again you have co-ordinated the outfit well, but I would definitely choose a different cut pants to go with those heels. This weekend I had four days off of work so I spent it up in Wales with my GF. On Saturday and Sunday we hung around Abergavenny. Here's what I wore: SATURDAY: Shirt - Primark Jeans - Cherokee Shoes - Cheapy Chinese shoes I bought from Pearl River in NY (The stain is on the mirror, not on me BTW!) SUNDAY: (The Shoes) T-Shirt - M&S Jeans - FCUK Shoes - Bronx On Monday we went to Llandrindod Wells and Builth Wells (followed by Llantrwyd Wells on the way home). Weather was poor but we still had a good time. Here's what I wore: My face looks weird in this picture because my GF took it before I was ready!! (The boots) Black Jacket - TU Green Sweater - M&S Black Tee - Topman Jeans - GAP Boots - Clarks Bag - Kenneth Cole Reaction We had a wonderful day. Proves you can freestyle almost anywhere in the UK. HappyFeat
Continuing my thrift store oddesy...Here are to other suits that I picked up recently... This suit is the same cut as my previous post, only in black Claybourn Three Button Suit Red Silk Short Sleeve Shirt Black Bandelino Open Toe Pumps, about a 3 inch heel The shoes I actually found on a sale rack at a local discount store for $25! I was so thrilled. Style is built from the ground up!
HappyFeat
My final thrift store suit is a wool Botnay 500 double breasted in a dark Navy Blue. In this picture I wore it with a white Perry Ellis Tee and my *preppy* Agnier navy blue pumps. Though they have a fairly low heel, these are a pair of my favorite shoes for going out. They have little "kilties" on the vamp and san be sexy, cute, or stylish depending on what I wear with them. Style is built from the ground up! JeffB
To HappyFeat: Bravo to you, my friend! Your outfits were extremely tasteful and very stylish. I may just copycat you because I like what I saw! Heh! Not every day I see open toed shoes, but you made them work quite well. Congrats for displaying your fine sense of fashion, my friend! HappyFeat
Thank's for the feedback guys! Another more "dressy" outfit: Dark brown, double breasted casmire jacket (thrift store find) Pink silk Mock neck shirt Clayborn cotton dress slacks with pinstripes and cuffs Brown square toe slingbacks from Target. I know they are cheap, but for $5 US, I couldn't pass them up. Style is built from the ground up!
muddypaws
Thanks for the positive responses. Kneehighs, I like the outfits. You certainly look like you are very comfortable wearing them! Let me know what you think of this outfit.... I wore this out in Brighton last August. It was the outfit I wore in the evening. I certainly enjoyed wearing it and would wear it again in the future. I thought it was very simple yet had a nice smart/casual style to it! Will post more pics soon. EDIT: Am I wrong in thinking that the second pic is a bit too "feminine"? No, not at all. That outfit looks good and the shoes although not "high" are very nice, I like them. The whole looks good. keep up the good work. HappyFeat
I love the entire ensamble, but especially the way the shoes/keehighs/and trousers work together. kneehighs
HeelD I love this outfit. That coat is great and I like the thickness of the heels too. HappyFeat In my view, this looks better than this. Why is that my opinion and nothing but? Just because I have a thing about not wearing short sleeve button down oxfords. They aren't usually seen on runways. So when it heats up outside, I just roll my sleeves up....but again, thats just my opinion and I think your color coordination works well as does the outfit. The outfit with the white shirt under the black coat is great! FreeMannWorld This outfit is great! Nice tuxedo top, nice cuffs on the shirt, nice black pants, and nice shoes! JNR
I like the pair of blade heel court shoes. Are they just for wearing around your house or do you plan to wear them out in public?
HeelD
I certainly do plan to wear them outside. They're incredibly comfortable. Took me a few minutes to get used to them as when I bought them on Wednesday I'd been walking around in my mens boots all day (I had important appointment in London and was wearing a suit - I bought the shoes from a charity store afterwards), and I tried them on when I got home that day.
