Glad you enjoy my little adventures in heels, heelme. I must say that I always get warm pleasant feelings when someone answers back how much my postings have encouraged them to take their heeling public. I never realized when I started this thread how much I would have an impact on others. I guess I have to continue to post my further adventures as they happen. Kind of an obligation for the cause. It will be a joy to continue posting here as long as others continue to find it useful for gathering their own courage.

Shafted:-) Whether you realize it or not, you are in an enviable position along with Thighbootguy, JeffB, and a few others. I wish that I could be there beside you guys, but it will never happen. Cheers--- Dawn HH

Dawn, I think that the important thing about my enviable position is that I made it happen, by choice. It was no accident and therefor it is only up to the individual to make it happen. Well I made it happen and I have no regrets. If I had it to do over again I would have started much sooner.

Shafted, I agree with Dawn, You have a great advantage that your work place "allows" your heeling. Unfortunately with the military, uniform means UNIFORM. I have gotten away with 2" heel "logger style" work boots in uniform for work in an industrial environment, but that is the highes I've been able to get away with... TLAHHBs

Okay Dawn, I won't argue. I suppose my position is enviable, but I just never thought of it that way.

Well, I haven't been able to do a lot of posting this week as I have been extremely busy at both my day job and my night job, in fact I'm writing this posting right now in notepad on my laptop at work on afternoon break. A few things have been happening in my heeling world of note. Monday Oct.3 I went into my favorite Chinese resterant in Pittsfield for dinner before my night job at the theatre wearing my Two Lips boots (my favorite pair). I was the only customer in the place at that time. The waitresses were kind of kicked back and we were talking and the subject of body piercing and tattooing came up. After finding out how many piercings and tattoos she had, I told her that it's definitely not for me and that this is a radical as I get. I then lifted up one boot for her to see (I couldn't resist, the moment seemed perfect). Forgive me for not recounting the entire conversation we had after that as after three days I can't remember many of the details, but she did say she loved the boots she saw me in last week (My highest heel dragon boots with cuffed jeans) and wishes she could wear something like that. She said that as a result of a severe ankle injury in her youth (from jumping out of a tree) she is unable to wear them. I went back there Oct. 5 with my dragon boots on (now get this) over my jeans (either my calves are getting leaner or the boot shafts have stretched a bit) and I have to admit the look was quite striking. When she saw them on me, she came over closer to get a better look at them and proceeded to run her fingers over the embroidery. I would say she likes them. Well I worked in the concession that night at the movie theatre wearing the dragon boots over my jeans. I was relaxing in a folding chair in there until there were customers to serve. A woman came in whom I met at jury duty and said "No sitting down on the job." to which I responded "With these on my feet, I'm going to take advantage of every free moment to get off my feet"(If I do this, it really extends my wearing time in high heels). She said,"I don't know how you can wear those things." to which I responded, "Practice."

Well, I took the plunge and wore my Candie's 3.5" blade heel boots to work, on a Monday. Things went very well. Only one person commented, the warehouse shipping supervisor, who accused me of being goofy when walking into the men's bathroom. Well, that's better than looking goofy. I rather enjoy doing goofy things. I think I'll be doing it again.

Yo, Shafted! Nothing wrong with throwing caution to the wind and doing something wild. If it makes you feel good and you enjoy it, then go ahead and do it! A question, those blade heeled boots you mentioned, have you ever posted a picture of them? I'd be curious to see what they look like. ;)

Well, have I got some new things to report in my heeling lifestyle. I have some good news and some bad news. The good news first. While wearing my Dragon boots over my jeans Tuesday to my favorite chinese resterant, I was hit on BIG time by one of the waitresses. Some of the things she said she wanted to do to me were way to racy for posting the details on this board. Might take her up on it if she is looking for something other than a quick fling. She's the same age as me, divorced and her kids are all grown up. Could be interesting. Bubba you were right, wherever you are, haven't heard from you for awhile. Now the bad news. Looks like I'll have to go back to my more conservative 2 inch cuban heels at my day job. Seems some employees haven't looked to kindly on me wearing heels and have reported to HR that they feel I'm a safety hazzard. The HR manager was kind enough to report this to me, and said that although there is nothing in the company policy regarding heels (just no open toe shoes) they do discourage everyone from wearing them for just that reason. Personnaly he didn't think that I was any kind of safety hazzard as he was somewhat impressed how I handled them. He said it was up to me wether to continue wearing them to work or not. I think it would be wiser to not force the issue. It's just not worth it. Besides I get a huge amount of heeling done outside my day job.

Hi Shafted, that's really annoying. Don't be too angry about it - as freelancer I never dared to wear heels at work. But in my free time nobody has the right to restrict me!

Shafted:-) If you do decide to have a fling with that waitress, we would all like to hear about it if it is something that is postable. As to your bad news......you didn't say whether the employees were male or female. It would be nice to know just who is for you or against you on the matter of wearing heels on the job. But, then again, HR may never tell you just who objected to you wearing heels. It may just be a case of bad grapes. They can't wear heels successfully, so they would make you trouble so that you can't wear them either. If anyone ever shows up in heels, male or female, you could turn them into HR as a safey hazzard, but I don't think that you are that type of person to do that. Cheers--- Dawn HH

You're right about that, Dawn. They'd probably be shot down as well by that bunch of bad grapes, anyway. I tend to leave well enough alone. I am not about to take on a multinational conglomerate that is larger and more powerful than many countries.

I thought I'd impart this little quickie of my adventures in heeling at the movie theatre that I had this week. A mother and her two young daughters came into the theatre while I was completely in full view wearing my 5 inch stiletto dragon boots (the ones with the red embroidery). One of the girls asked, "Why are you wearing those?" To which I used my canned response, "Because I can." The mother smiled approvingly at me to the answer I gave as if to say no further explanation is required. Well, I off to the salon to get my hair cut, wearing my black patent 3.5 inch stiletto Fuse boots.

Well, I just got back from the salon with my new haircut and I must say the heel watching was a little bit more exciting this time. I found myself a comfy seat in the waiting area and proceeded to look about. Saw one woman wearing a pair of 2.5 to 3 inch chunky heeled boots, not really my thing. Coming out of the salon area was this rather attractive leggy blonde with the paraphenelia in her hair indicating she was having streaking done. Looked down and she was sporting a rather attractive pair of 3 to 4 inch blade heel boots. It came time for my cut, and I went in and sat down. Got the cut, thank God, I feel 10 pounds lighter. While I was in the chair that leggy blonde sat down in the chair next to mine where I could get an even better look at her boots. She was there for only a few moments, and then led off for her rinse and then back for the next set of highlights. After I tipped my hairdresser, I went back out to the lobby to pay. And there was that leggy blonde again with more paraphenelia in her har walking around near the front door. On my way out I had to walk directly towards her as my leather blazer was directly on the other side of her. As I approached her I looked down at her feet again, and then looking up at her commented, "I love your boots.", to which I recieved a glowing thank you. I excused myself as I needed to get to my blazer and left. Keep in mind the whole time I was wearing my black marbled patent 3.5 inch stiletto Somethin' Else Fuse boots. No one in the salon paid them any attention that I could tell. A something which really pleased me this time, I didn't see a single flip-flip.

Now that's the way to go. It's the sort of response I've used myself, and it's the right response. If we choose to wear women's footwear, then why should we make up lame excuses about what we do? As far as I'm concerned, there is no reason. More power to you, Shafted!

Shafted -

What a fun time at the salon. Sounds like you had a good time in your boots. Too bad my thinning gray ponytail isn’t salon material. Sounds like a great place to go heeling.

Most people do respond well to a nice complement. Too bad she didn’t notice your boots and return the complement.

I dream of a world where chickens can cross roads without having their motives questioned.

  • 2 weeks later...

Well, today I went to the garage to get a brake job done on my truck. Went wearing my 3.5 inch stiletto Two Lips boots. Not a word was said. After that I went to the local cobbler to have him lay a few stitches in my black patent 5 inch stiletto thigh boots (see my avatar) as the place where the shaft is stitched to the top of the heel counter was coming undone. (still wearing my Two Lips boots) There were a couple of women customers in there to drop off some shoes for repair, and I went completely unnoticed. When it was my turn, I said to him, "You thought the last pair I had you work on was odd, how often do you get to work on a pair of these", while unfurling the boot to it's full length. "You'd be surprised.", he responded. He proceeded to load up his Singer long arm and stitched them up while I waited. I'm wearing these babies tonight at the movie theatre with my white Bite Me t-shirt, black jeans, matching black patent opera length gloves and my capped canine teeth which give me a pair of very convincing fangs. Plenty of people should see me tonight as it's Halloween, buck night at the theatre and we're showing The Skeleton Key.
