I just got back from the movie theatre tonight. I wouldn't have thought it possible but only 15 people showed up. Oh well, I did get a compliment on my Ellie 511-Ally's (see my avatar) though, at a convienence store this evening. It came from a rather attractive woman in, I would guesstimate her late 30's. As I was bringing my items to the checkout. The short conversation went something like this. Her: Oh my, how can you walk in those. Me: (playing stupid) In what? Her: Those boots, that heel is so pointy. Me: It's an aquired skill. Her: Well, more power to you. I would count that as a positive response.

Hi Tommy. Good to hear from you again. It was clear that it was a positive response. It's all about reading peoples facial expressions and body langauge more so than what they actually say sometimes.

Last night as I was leaving the theatre wearing my Fuse 3.5 inch stiletto boots, a group of teenaged boys were loitering out in front of the theatre and as I was crossing the street one of then said, "Nice heels!" While returning two thumbs way up to them, I said, "Thanks, you should see my high ones." Strange, but for some reason they were very quiet after that. They probably discovered I don't rattle easily.

They probably didn't expect you to respond the way you did, if at all. I'm sure that took them by surprise, thus the silence. Just an opinion.

It definitely seemed like a situation where I was being tested. I feel quite comfortable that I passed the test.

And that is the secret, confidence! Over the fifteen years I have enjoyed wearing thigh high Boots in public, it is confidence which has kept negativity at bay. When bullies see weakness they will go in for the kill. When they see confidence they will usually shy away because their bulliness comes from their own insecurities.

Stay strong, be proud and be who you are! Awesome lessons in life.

Shafted:-) Nice comeback to those teenage boys. Your answer was just perfect to get them to start thinking. Who knows---just maybe it will lead to them trying out heels to see just what it is all about. Cheers--- Dawn HH

Thanks Dawn! Well I just got back from working at the theatre tonight, wearing my 5 inch stiletto Dragon boots (the ones with the awesomw red embroidery). It wasn't very busy tonight so rather than sitting idle in the box office selling tickets I was strolling around the lobby. I then noticed a couple coming in through the outer doors and I noticed that they couldn't help but notice my boots. I got back into the box office and while preparing to sell them tickets a conversation started as follows: Man: I got to get me some of those boots. (Hmm if I didn't know better this guy has an austrailian accent) Me: The chicks dig them. I already been propositioned once in the few times I've worn them. Well if you get a pair, make sure you practice quite a bit before you wear them out in public (with a grin on my face) Man: I would think so. The woman never said a thing but had a very pleasant knowing smile on her face. As I was leaving the theatre, going back to my truck, a car came to a stop at the intersection (normal enough). It was then that I noticed I was the entertainment for the two guys occupying the vehicle. As I was walking crossing the street behind their car, I was enjoying watching them craning their necks to get a good look at me and my boots. They continued watching and waiting at the intersection until I entered my truck. (me chuckling all they way) Yes, I would say I had a good evening in heels.

Well, time for an update. First of all the Pleaser 8868's came in. But to my dissapointment rather than size 11 in black they were size 5 in white. After going through my order invoice at the time I placed my order, it was obviously my mistake. Hey, but that's okay. It looks like a woman at work is interested in buying them from me, so I won't be sending them back. I will be ordering the correct pair this time. I did get an unsolicited response from a rather attractive female customer at the theatre last night. She was the last one in the concession line, where I was working in the concession area that night. I was wearing my 3.5" patent stiletto boots. Her: I don't know how you do it. Me: (once again playing dumb) Do what? Her: Get around so well in those heels. Me: (lifting my pant leg) These are easy, I'm used to much higher. Her: (eyes getting wider) Higher? Me: Yea, sometimes you'll see me wearing 5 inch heels. Her: (now flabergasted and speechless) Me: Besides, they're a lot of fun to wear and I love to see the expressions on peoples faces. Her: (regaining her composure)I can just imagine. Me: It's also alot of fun messing with peoples heads. I really can't say wether she liked them or not on me. I don't think she knew at the time wether she liked the look or not. But I think she left the window seriously pondering the question.

Well, it's been awhile since my last update. To be honest while wearing stilettos almost every day, people just don't react that much to it. A couple of things happened last week that I can document here though. First: Last weekend when I was working at the theatre, when the movie cam to an end, a rather heavy woman looked down at my Somethin' Else Fuse" stiletto boots and commented that she could never wear anything with such a pointed toe. She was explaining how her feet were just too wide and flat to wear them. And then after I turned my foot to the side and she got a look at the 3.5" stiletto heels, her eyes just lit up and said that she could never wear a heel that high either. Second: This Thursday while I was on the ladder doing the marquis, a carload of teenaged boys when cruising down main street. I got a wolf whistle and and the comment, "Whoa! Sexxxy!" Too bad they went by too quickly for me to respond, I would loved to tried to embarrass the hell out of them.

Well, time for another update. Not a lot to say really, but interesting none the less. End of year crunch occurred as it usually does at work, so I was working some rather late evening hours as were many others at my day job. I usually change out of my stilettos into my men's 2 inch cuban boots in the lobby before I go out on to the manufacturing floor. I then walked out to the area in manufacturing where I would be doing product audits, to ensure that product quality wouldn't fall off with the end of year rush. One woman I know that I ran into later told me that another woman that she worked with wanted to know where I got my boots (Somethin' Else Fuse - black patent with 3.5 inch stiletto heels). She said that she told her she thought they were beautiful and wanted to get a pair. Well, I gave her what info I could and it pretty much ended at that.

Well a few interesting things have happened in my heeling adventures since my last post here. One snowy night at the theatre while I was working in the concession wearing my black patent 3.5 inch stiletto Fuse boots, a man asked me how those boots were on ice and snow. I responded by saying, "Oh, not too bad. You just have to make sure you dig those heels in for some traction. The look on his face was not one of approval or disaproval, but one of curiousity. Well the Ellie 8267 6 inch locking ankle strap stiletto pumps finally came in that I had ordered some time back. To my surprise they are actually 6.5 inch pumps. Boy, did I find out that these are a whole different ballgame. Getting my foot into these things was a tediuos adventure, but after getting them on they fit perfectly. They are almost like a snap fit to my foot. Standing up in them was extremely difficult, and I could only do it with bent knees at first. Walking at this time in them is completely out of the question. But the fun doesn't stop there. I took them to the theatre with me one night and the manager (my boss, whose foot is only slightly smaller than mine) just had to try them on. Not really a heel wearer herself, upon seeing them she just couldn't resist. After she got into them and stood up and tried walking, the infectious laughter ensued. A little while later her daugther came in and saw the opened box with the shoes in them laying on the back counter. When she saw them laying in the box she exclaimed, "Oh, shoes!". She went over to the box and pulled out one of the shes and said, "Oh my god, that's the highest heel I've ever seen." Soon mother was helping daughter to put on the shoes as her growing feet were now the same size as her mothers, and when she got up to walk in them the look on her face was priceless as well as the discomfort. Another bout of laughter took hold of the three of us. Funny thing is that I think daughter is going to grow up to be a heel wearing woman. I wonder how much influence I had?

Update time! Well first at the theatre on Thursday nights when I'm doing the marquis, I can no longer wear my high heels while I'm on the ladder, seems the town manager thinks wearing high heels on a ladder is a safety hazard. The theatre is after all owned by the town. But I have been assured that I can wear them freely the rest of the time. I can accept that compromise. Today at work while wearing a pair of low heeled leather thigh boots, I walked by an open door to a class room on a number of occasions. It was a training class for new employees. Somebody in the class had apparently recognised me from somewhere, because at the end of the day while I was headed out the instructor for the class told me that some guy in the class said,"OMG, that's the guy who wears stilettos!" She said she responded to him by saying, "He does, and he wears them better than any woman I've ever seen." TEE HEE! :D

I don't know wether to be jalous or to follow your example. Either way you encourage me to make me wear more different heels as well. I have added to my plans to walk in pumps and baggy pants once spring turns into summer... that would around may.

Anyhow, my experiences also seem to enlarge the list and I have absolutely no clue where to begin.

First: I now have four people who have openly told me that my high heels rock! Three ladies from the age of 16 to 19 have sided with me to start this skirmish type of campaign to encourage more boys to do the same. After all the world is upside down already, so somebody stop us if you can! The other one is a boy of 17 years old who's also a friend and my classmate. He oftenly blends himself within the punk type of crowd and listens to a lot of lunatic happy music. He's a happy person every day and oftenly hyper active.... and the first day he saw me in heels, he actually was told about it the night before by my former girlfriend and he asked me top dispaly meh boots. So I took the liberty and as cheeky as I was I put both my feet on the round table where like 15 people gathered of my class and that was the day that I saw like more than 20 big eyes getting bigger and bigger. One even said: "Woh! You've got nerve." and today he admires the fact that I do things as I please in an unstoppable way.

Furthermore, I daily travel by train... and I get a lot of opportunities to either make a loud noice with my heels by passing by the people and/or sit with my legs crossed and attempt to get into a conversation with mostly ladies. Sadly I have never recieved any comment from people in the train but one I can tell you is that shafted and I share one thing in common and that is the fact that we certainly do twist a lot of people's minds.

One time I was called a lady. A group of young girls who were just introduced to the puberty phase walk up to me and one had the guts to call me madam!!!!! Oh well, I thought, what the hell! So to get the show on the road she exacltly asked: "Madam, does this train stop in Rotterdam?" and to make her feel embarrassed instead of me, I used a deep male voice, almost grunting out my reply: "YES! Indeed, look! The sign says it, and I thought you could read!" Bang! they were shocked and moved away from me. However during that performance, I heard one of the girls whispering: "Yes! That's the guy in heels. He's gay!!"

I don't care for negative responds, maybe I care only a bit, but it doesn't affect my happiness nor courage. I just go for the 5% of people who do have the guts to walk up to me and say that heels are cool. Those are the precious moments for me...

Well, not to be rude but that was pretty much it.

If all is lost as it may seem,

in a cruel endless game,

I'd rather live to redeem,

than to die in shame!

Never get any comment? I can see why you would use the word "sad" to label the lack of comments. Hopefully others here that restrict their public freestyling based on the fear of other's responses are inspired by this.

A great read, Zero! I'm glad you found my experiences encouraging. That is after all why I share them.

Well just recieved a new pair of boots from Zappos. a pair of Pleaser Legend-8890's.

Wore them out to the theatre last night, and worked in concession. A woman I know from my day job was there, but didn't see my boots. Today when I saw her she asked me what I was wearing for boots last night, because one of the women she was with told her, "Did you see his boots? they were so cool." And of course I described the boots for her.
