New pair of boots starts me serious street heeling.

Shafted

Recommended Posts

Got a compliment at work last night on my Romantic Soles Emitate pewter stiletto pumps from a woman who gushed, "I love your shoes!" I smiled and thanked her. I have kind of become a little numb to compliments on my footwear as they tend to come my way quite frequently and it's usually a simple, "I like/love you shoes/boots.", but I still make a point to properly thank the person anyways. I've been a little frustrated lately with my wardrobe. I have recently lost 50 pounds and not much fits properly anymore. I'm dying to go shopping, but my current budget will not permit it. You can bet that as soon as I have some spare cash that I'm going clothes shopping.

Bravo to you, my friend! I've just checked out the shoes you mentioned and they do look mondo sharp! I for one have never become numb to, or take compliments on my footwear for granted since that's such a rush for me, and I hope that never gets old!

I don't want to LOOK like a woman, I just want to DRESS like a woman!

Well I coundn't stand it anymore I went shopping for clothes. Picked up three pairs of dress slacks. I really like dress slacks with pumps and the material is much more flowing around the shoe due the the nicer softer lighter material. A much nicer look than jeans. Also pick up a nice new fitted tee and a new belt. Still on the lookout here in my area for some skinny fit jeans to go with my kneehigh and thigh high boots. Tonight I wore the new gray slacks with "mist" stockings and my pewter stiletto pumps with of course my black theatre tee. At the end of the evening a couple (regular customers) asked me if I had read the article in the sunday NYTimes. Now they know it just isn't me wearing heels in public. Times are changing guys. What more do you need to get out there?

Cool my new indigo Levis Ex-Girlfriend jeans were waiting in my mailbox when I got home tonight. I tried them on and they fit great. It a real nice super skinny fit jean. It's going to go great with my kneehigh and thighhigh boots. I can't wait to wear them out. Tomorrow night for sure,

Well I had a rather thrilling outing tonight. I wore my new Levi's indigo ex-girlfriend jeans with my Cole Haan bronze python kneehigh boots with a 3 inch spike heel to work. What an incredible sensation wearing boots over a pair of super skinny jeans is. I now have to have all my kneehigh and thighhigh boots altered by having the backseam opened and taken in. I'm really loving my new look with the skinny jeans and boots. Someday I have to repair my good camera and take some photos. I'm having fun dressing my new body in case you can't tell. No compliments tonight, but no negative reactions either (just a few customers). I didn't care. I was in heaven. The boss said it will take a bit of getting used to. It's great that she is willing to let me go with it. It is within the dress code after all.

Shafted- What a wonderful accomplishment, losing 50 pounds! I so wish I was a little taller and could sport skinny jeans! I know how great you must look. I know that money is an issue for most of us, but you SHOULD reward yourself also...I like to visit thrift shops, I feel like I have won the lottery when I find a well worn pair of levis for $5.00. Your confidence and courage is amazing to wear your boots at work. I know how liberating it feels to wear booted gear publicly, but don't have the courage and confidence to do much more than take late night booted rides to the gas station or convenience store.... You are an inspiration to all of us, thanks...don

Well gang, I decided I hadn't been around my home town of Skowhegan very much lately in heels. I wore my Levi's Ex-Girlfriend indigo jeans with mid calf black patent stiletto boots with a 4 inch heel. Also wore a long sleeve fitted fine waffle fabric tee with a monochome lion head print. Topped it with my Peruzzi leather jacket. I first visit my local cobbler to have him alter a pair of kneehigh black suede spike heel boots with a 3 inch heel that he already was working on replaceing top lifts. I put one of the boots on for him so that he could take measurements for the alteration. He quoted me that it will be at least $20 for the work. I told him that was just fine as these are a $150 pair of boots. Well worth the money for a proper fit. I want those boot shafts to hug my legs. We talked about the great weather we were having. I also told him I would be bringing in other pairs for similar alterations. He added the extra work note on the ticket and we bid each other a good day. Next is was off to the bank to make a deposit. I'm sure the tellers noticed me. I only had to wait in line for a few seconds before I heard an, "I can help you here." Very uneventful. Then I was off to KFC/Taco Bell for lunch. This time I knew all eyes were on me (a young mother with her toddler son, an elderly couple). I didn't care. I felt so good about myself with all the new clothes to adorn my new slim body. I ordered 2 solt taco supremes and 2 crunchy taco supremes (this sounds like lot but it really isn't). I selected a table in between the two groups of people and took my jacket off. I didn't sense any negative or positive reactions from them but they were definitely pondering my look. This was a really special outing for me as I was presenting myself to the world as I have always wanted to in clothes that are really flettering on me. I had so much fun!

Thank you. I'm perfectly willing to divulge my weight loss secret. Anyone please feel free to PM me if you want to know and I'll send links to the information. The funny thing is once you start the program you'll see how easy it is not only to loose the weight, but keep it off.

Wow! Just got back from a twelve hour day at the theatre. I did lighting for two back to back three hour show. The show was a old style country music show featuring Leona Williams.

www.leonawilliams.com

I was once again wearing my skinny jeans and black patent stiletto ankle boots with my black Pittsfield Community Theatre tee.

Got in to work at 10:30AM to gel the stage lights before the band showed up. I introduced myself when they came in and that I would be their lighting tech for the shows.

Other artist appearing were Bob Elston & The Roadrangers, Marlene Carpenter, Kevin Carver and Doyle Grisham from the Jimmy Buffett Band.

I only had one comment in between shows (the only chance to mingle with people) from an older woman who knew Leona. She told me she had seen many young women wear similar clothing to what I was wearing and that I pulled off the look better than them. Then she asked, "Can you walk in those?" My response was only to raise my eyebrows to which she responded, "Of course you can."

The show was really an accident resulting from another venues cancellation.

It was a gruling day consisting of two 4 hours shifts in the lighting control box.

It's our first big snowstorm of the season and I decided to eat out and do some grocery shopping. I wore my Pleaser Legend 8890 thighboots over my Levi's Ex-Girlfriend skinny jeans with a celtic cross tie-dyed tee topped with my Peruzzi leather jacket and wool fedora. Headed off first to McDonald's for lunch. My heels make a very loud noise on the ceramic tile floors as I headed to place my order for an mushroom and swiss angus burger with fries and a hot caramel mocha. Very little attention was paid to me at all from the other customers. Finished my meal and then headed off to George's Banana Stand for some groceries. Again very little attention was paid to me. The Pleaser Legend 8890's are turning out to be a good winter boot and I was able to get a surprising good grip with them on the snow covered pavement. They also kept my legs and feet nice and warm and dry. All with a 4 inch stiletto heel.

Shafted, Your thigh boots have become such a normal part of the local backdrop, like a lobster crossing the road or Maine's often horizontal precipitation, that nobody pays that much attention to you as everything appears "normal". That's the sign you have arrived indeed. Well done my friend. HappyinHeels:wavey:

The weight loss was a bonus of the nutritional suppliment program I am on. It was a sweet bonus. The real cool thing is I dropped a shoe size from 11US womens to a 10 ( more shoes to pick from off the rack). The downside is I have quite a few pairs of pumps that don't fit well anymore.

Tonight I wore the Restricted Barberella boots with skinny jeans and theatre tee. Tonight I worked with the boss. I had completely forgotten I was wearing new boots which she hadn't seen yet. Well anyways when she got a look at them she fell in love with them as I had. When I took them off to exchange them for my work boots she seized the opportunity to try them on. She absolutely loved them and expressed how comfortable they were. She then proceeded to tell me I wasn't getting them back (she was kidding of course). I'm beginning to see a pattern in some of my favorite boots. I seem to be having a love affair with suede. The suede used for women's boots is so much more soft and supple than the suede used in men's boots. I also seem to be finding a correlation between suede boots and more comfort. The boots that are suede are getting the priority for the shaft alterations that all my kneehigh and thighhigh boots need to fit with my thinner legs.

Well, I went out for breakfast at McDonald's this morning. I strode up to the counter in my skinny jeans and Restricted Barberella boots. While I was in line to place an order I got a few chuckles from a bunch of guys wearing clothing of some home improvement business. I took it in stride and just chose to ignore them. If they found me amusing, I am only too happy to have entertained them. I'll never blame anyone for getting a good chuckle out of the way I dress. It kind of goes with the territory.

I couldn't agree more. If one can't handle that particular territory, then going out in public in heels is most definitely a non-starter. To anyone unaccustomed with being out in public, the important thing is to not let the occasional chuckle, giggle or laugh get to you when out and about, heck, if you choose, you can look at those people as being beneath you for not understanding or appreciating the unique way you choose to dress.

I don't want to LOOK like a woman, I just want to DRESS like a woman!

Went out grocery shopping yesterday in a pair of skinny jeans with a DKNY tee and my new Restricted mid calf boots. I didn't tie my hair back today and just let my shoulder length hair flow out from under my fedora. I noticed that people do occasionally try to descreetly peek at me. They do keep it very low key to their credit. Got to the checkout line with my stuff where I was greeted by the usual cashier that checks out my stuff about 80% of the time. We where talking about the reusable grocery sack that I use all the time. It's absolutely amazing how much stuff it holds. We both like to gab at the checkout. There were two other ladies in line behind me who eagerly jumped into the conversation. I think that my demeaner really loosened them up and set them at ease. I get the feeling that they were somehow delighted to meet a guy such as myself. It's quite rare for me to use a shopping cart. Today as most others I just use a hand basket. So no hiding behind a shopping cart for me.

Thanks for you criticism Tech. The hair is just tied back most of the time. When I tie it back it's kept very neat. The hair down thing doesn't work well for me hence the hat. Thanks for letting me bounce alternate looks around. I am completely open to criticism, lord I dish it out alot. I like my ponytail better anyway. Thanks again.
