mlroseplant
Last night, my wife was very annoyed with me. I have a few precious weeks off before the next job and crazy-stupid overtime begins. So, I went through my shoe collection with the idea that I was going to thin things out, either on eBay or donation or the landfill, depending upon the condition of the shoes. Evidently, there were a few pairs that she was not aware of, and she didn't hesitate to voice her displeasure, even saying that I am not allowed to buy any more high heels ever again. I pretty much agreed that she was right, I've spent way too much money on shoes in the last two years, but that I am still searching for just the right pair of high heeled boots for next winter. That discussion ended in a stalemate, and I didn't think much more about it after that. Imagine my surprise when the wife comes downstairs this morning, preparing to go up to the city to go out to lunch, wearing this outfit. We did have a nice lunch, and a nice trip to Goodwill (thrift store) afterwards. As an aside, we came out of Goodwill empty-handed this time, but that's OK. I am not a person who likes matchy-matchy outfits, but I thought this was actually kind of cool. We were both wearing denim shorts and 5 inch wedgies. I figure life doesn't get a whole lot better than that. Photo by 5 year old Mickey. His photography skills aren't too shabby, eh? This really makes me dread 70 hour work weeks even more. mtnsofheels
Very nice Miro picture Miro! That is a bit sad if the shopping has come to an end, maybe maybe a pair of boots for winter. I have to agree with a cull once in awhile, just makes sense. Hard to find space for them all.. Thanks for sharing!
ilikekicks
Glad to hear that you and your wife enjoyed lunch together. I know all about the ' overtime ' and the ' dead time ' in between. Crop harvest starts at the end of August. -ILK REPEATEDLY ARGUMENTATIVE, INSULTING AND RUDE. BANNED FOR LIFE.

hh4evr1
Maybe you could get your wife to let you get new boots after cutting the collection down abit. One pair of boots replacing the shoes that are sold etc.

Histiletto
Hey mlroseplant, I suspect you and your wife are like most people who enjoy wearing heels, they eventually have this craving to have another pair whether they need them or not. It's probably the reason you accumulated such a large volume for your collection. Maybe the both of you should discuss this potential inevitability.
