That is too cool! Thanks for the pic Wetwillie.

Cool story Radiodave!

Nice find! I like how we to get to know the names of each shoe as they are being modeled.

I have yet to give my purple shoes a whirl. But I definitely will after seeing your pics. Thanks!

Thanks for all the feedback guys. Be it positive or critical. I am always looking for new ideas, or ways to improve.

Love reading your stuff Jeff. I am not personally a fan of long skirts on a man or a women! But that is besides my point! I like reading your stuff! You are one of many around here helping our cause with your constant stream of pics and posts about your jaunts. Thank you! And happy heeling!

It's been a long while since I had a chance to get out and travel. But the opportunity presented itself today! I am actually writing about this while I travel. So there isn't much to report. The outfit 1) black aldo ankle boots 2) black ladies dress pants 3) white ladies dress shirt 4) grey ladies blazer/coat 5) black camera/sholder bag And now for some pics!

As the title of this thread originally suggests, it's about runways, rockers, and celebrities in heels....
And if you've been following the Menswear shows in London lately, the boundaries were totally pushed by JW Anderson, on the runway.
Not my cup of tea, but nonetheless interesting. Please keep comments civil:
Not my cup of tea either! But at least stuff like this is showing up in the mainstream public eye. But it won't truly catch on till it hits street level.

I couldn't help but notice that Mom was wearing the same boots!
That is too cool! I have never encountered a women wearing the same heels as me!

I just love the look of a classic pump,
Nice shoes! Gotta love them classics!

"He cuts down trees, he wears high heels"
I love it! I could see them making a show, or super hero out of this. Lumberjack by day, high heels at night....lol Or better yet an episode of Coffee Talk with Linda Richman from Saturday Night Live. I'm a little farklempt. Talk amongst yourselves. I'll give you a topic. The high heeled lumberjack was neither a lumberjack nor did he were high heels. Discuss!
You can't always wear skinny jeans
Believe it or not these are skinny jeans! Not sure why they bunch though.

May be just me but the green plaid shirt is my biggest issue.
With my coat done up you couldn't see the shirt anyhow. I could have worn anything under my coat really. The only eyes that saw my shirt was everyone here....lol
Mr. X-thanks for taking the time not only to take the photo, but the effort to also upload them to the server here. Your pictures spark healthy constructive conversation about fashion and appearance, so thank you.
Fashion as we know it, is site specific. An outfit that kicks butt on the Lower East Side might not be so well received on the Upper East Side. And an outfit that is received well for a board meeting might not be so appropriate for running errands. I don't know where you live, but I'm in agreement with the above posters that your outfit definitely classifies as a solid casual, which seems appropriate for the context of running errands.
More specific than casual however, I'd say your look has a Seattle "Kurt Cobain" grunge reference to it. Now with regards to Seattle grunge and high fashion, at the SS13 shows this last September and October, grunge as a look was widely circulated. As you wore your shirt untucked and casual, so is the tied waist plaid in the Lim photo below equally casual and "sloppy". As your plaid (is it flannel?) print resurged with Kurt Cobain, so Kurt Cobain wigs were used on models at Theysken's Theory. Similarly, plaid as a PRINT was used on many looks at Dries's Paris Fashion Week show.
You did a good job color coordinating. My only issue is the color palette you decided to coordinate with. This is really just a matter of personal preference though.
Again, thanks for your pictures.
Thanks and well said kneehighs. Your opinion is always valued. Interesting pics too!

The casual look. I think your outfit looks just fine for a shopping trip and errand runs.
Thanks for sharing.
Your welcome! Glad you like it!
I must say Mr. X this one isn't doing it for me. Sorry. A bit too sloppy.
Thanks for the opinion! No offence taken. That is the beauty of this site. To each his own. One man's junk is another man's treasure! Not everything we do is going to be a hit to everyone all the time. But at least we are the one's in the trenches! And hit or miss I am enjoying every minute of it! As I am sure you and everyone else is as well!

Time for another update to my travel pages. Hope everyopne had a good Christmas and New Years! I guess this my first travel of the New Year. I don't have internet at my place yet these days. Therefore, my internet access is limited. I have been regulated to using my laptop in various internet spots around town whenever possible. So in another Mr. X first. I am reporting on my travel during my travel! I took, and uploaded the pics before hand. I am out and about and everything is going off without a hitch. Most of my day was spent running errands and doing a little window shopping. I won't bore you with the details......lol. Now for ther outfit and some pics! My outfit came together rather easily. And I had a new womens black jacket I recently purchased. I was dying to try it out! Enjoy! Comments and suggestions always welcome. the outfit 1) green plaid shirt 2) black womens winterish jacket 3) light brown kneeish length aldo boots with chunky heel 4) Light brown purse/carry all

From what I can see, the boots look nice! And it sound like you had a great outing! Positive Interactions like you had are always good. And I think it really fuels our fire.

Not bad Jeff! I am a fan of the skinny jean! I am wearing some as I type this as a matter of fact. The only thing I might of changed is the color. I would have gone darker! But thats just me! Don't let that stop ya.
-
never would have pegged it as tough and rugged, but that makes sense. Thanks for the compliments! it means alot coming from a fellow heeler such as yourself. You know what works about this look? It's sufficiently masculine (as is your pose) to distract from any sorty of attention you may get for being feminine. The thick heel, the platforms...it just looks "tough" and rugged.
Good job.

I just picked up a pair of these ankle boots. They're pretty high but really comfortable.
I like those alot! They are similar to a pair I got from Aldo last year.

Why not just wear the clothes you have with the shoes that you have? There are no pics above that are not just ordinary street style...
Nobody has to follow these pics to the letter. The purpose of this thread was for ideas only. Maybe someone will see a piece of clothing in these pics they want to try, or add to there collection. Or maybe people will see a color combination they like or never thought of to try before. Or what about these boots with these color and style of jeans. Those are the kind of things I hope people will take away from this thread.
Here is some more pics to stew over. I personally like Ali's outfit. The white pants and grey heel combination is great. And the wine colored bag is a choice I never would have thought of with that outfit. I may just have to try something similar in the future.

Not sure if this is the right place for this. If not it could be moved to wherever. I haven't seen such a thread here either. I thought it might be a good idea to start a thread for us guys to get some style ideas. Anyone is free to post pictures of celebrities and such And preferably the pics are of women wearing outfits, including heels(shoes or boots). Then we could all comment on them and such. Or just use them for ideas and inspiration when we are putting together our own outfits for going out and about. If possible try to identify the person in the pics. I will get us started.

I don't expect anyone here to follow in my long and winding footsteps
Nor should you Jeff! That is what makes this fun! We all love heels, but yet we all seem to put are own little spin on it. I love seeing how each individual person here will either dress up or dress down their heels.
Nice jacket by the way!
