I haven't posted here in a good while, so I figured an update was in order. I'm still getting out. I just don't feel the need to post every single outing these days. Unless something newsworthy happens, which isn't often, I just go about my day.
I am still buying shoes also. So i figured it was time to do another inventory check. It would also give me a chance to go through and pair down my collection by selling shoes that no longer fit or that I'm not too fond of anymore. And donate shoes that are a little worse for wear and not worth selling. I also wanted to see how close I was on how many pairs I actually had. I was guesstimating that between shoes and boots. I probably had around 100 pairs.
A bit of my collection is stored in their original boxes. But the majority of my collection is stored in cardboard boxes and tubs. I would love to have proper shelves to display them or a closet of some kind, but that is just not possible. Between boxes and tubs, I currently have about 7 of them. And now the fun begins.
It was fun going through everything and trying stuff on. I even discovered stuff I never new I had. And stuff that has never seen the outside world. Because alot of my shoes are a little too fancy to wear out doing everday task and errands. They need a special occasion to wear them. When it was all said and done, I ended up with about a dozen pairs that would be sold or donated. And my guesstimate was actually pretty close. I came in just a shade under the century mark, including the get rid of pile. So here is the numbers of where my collection stands after pairing it down.
Shoes 57 pairs
Knee boots or higher 5 pairs
ankle boots or shoes 14 pairs
Wedges 4 pairs
Flats 2 pairs
For a total of 82 pairs

There are many version of Artificial Intelligence begining to appear on cell phones. They can basically do just about anything for you now. For those with an Andriod phone, Gemini is the new thing. There is even commercials for it now. In the latest commercial, a girl snaps a photo of her outfit. Then she asks gemini, "what makeup look would go good with this outfit?" And Gemini responds, "A cat eye would work well", or something to that effect. So I started thinking about how it could work with heels? I have not used it for an actual outfit I have worn out yet. But I did test it out. And based on the results I think it could be very useful for us. It's like having your own personal stylist in your pocket.
I tried it 2 different ways. First I tried it with a picture of me wearing just a normal pair of white jeans and a black t-shirt. I asked Gemini, "What kind of heels should I wear with this outfit?". I was suprised how good the results were. And how many different choices it gave me. Then I tried it the opposite way. I gave it a picture of a pair of Fushia snakeskin textured heels, instead of just a plain old black pair. I tried to make it difficult for Gemini, but to no avail. I asked Gemini, "What oufit would go well with these heels?". It knew the colour and that the shoes were snakeskin textured, to boot! And again, it returned plenty of outfit options. All different styles and colours. Everthing from a black dress, to a pair of dark skinny jeans with a neutral coloured top.
It made a believer out of me, and I'm sold! Can't wait to try it out and get suggestions on an actual outfit that I will wear out. And it will also be useful out shopping. Imaging taking a picture of a pair of heels, or a piece of clothing you are thinking of buying, and instantly getting feedback and outfit suggestions. It will be like having your own personal shopper in your pocket. Has anyone else tried it yet? If you haven't, I suggest you do. Here are some screenshots of my attempt with the fushia heels.

You guys all know that I like to wear skorts with my heels. I just bought a faux black leather skort on Amazon. I really like it very much. It fits me to the T. It felt great first time wearing it with my white women's tunic top and a pair of white double band sandals. I felt totally confident wearing this ensemble. I think that I may get other colors of the skort, like white and hot pink. I'll put a link to the skort I bought on Amazon.https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0D3PP7P3X?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title&th=1&psc=1

Interesting. I like it! Might just have to add something like that to my want list.

I suppose at some point I need to either get over my reluctance to wear dressier shoes with everyday clothing, or I need to cull my shoe collection down to something more reasonable. It has remained at about 100 for several years, but the problem is, even if I wore a different pair of shoes every week, it would take me two years to run through everything once.
I am in the same boat. I have not counted lately, I really should, but 100 pairs seems in the ball park. And with limited opportunties to wear them, I am sure pretty sure I have plenty of shoes that have yet to see the light of day.

I don't know if you pulled the trigger on that lot of them a month or so ago, but I think they would be well worth the money, provided that they actually fit.
I did not pull the trigger for a few reasons. The ad was not a local ad. Shiiping would have been involved, provided the seller was even willing to ship. I just happened to be searching for something else, and they popped up. Plus, once I found out their price new on Amazon, I realized the seller was asking way too much for hers.

You and the outfit look fine. I like you, try to find new ways to pose. I am not a good picture taker, so I look for any help I can get. I have seen may picture of women with the cross foot pose.

Thus far I have refrained from pontificating further on the state of current fashionable footwear, which I find either boring or ugly, or both!
I would have to agree

An interesting article about a Swedish actor turning up at the Cannes film festival in a pair of (low heel) thigh boot by Saint Laurent. What was interesting about the article is that the writer did not disparage the idea of men in tall boots, and indeed went into the history of boots as a masculine fashion, and threw the story forward by suggesting that maybe tall boots could be coming back into style.
I certainly hope so, and found the tone of the article encouraging. The boots pictures are not to my personal taste although there is nothing outlandish about them. It would be nice if this story did indeed herald a return to tall boots for men.

The boots are not my cup of tea. But if it helps are cause, so much the better.

I was browsing some online buy and sells, and I came across an ad for someone selling 4 pairs of this brand. They were all the same shoe, but just in diffent colors and patterns. I immediately fell in love with them. And this is exactly what I think of when someone says high heels. They have that "classic" stilleto look. And they are what I would call one sexy shoe! I did some research and realized they are sold on Amazon. They run around 60 to 80 dollars canadian money, which seems reasonable depending on the quality. They say they have a near 5 inch heel. And they come in a variety of colors and patterns. Here is a few pictures of the ones from the ad I saw. And also a link to them on Amazon. I especially like the purple snakeskin ones she was selling. So does anyone have experience with this brand?

Never thought about how the foot angle changes movement on something like drum pedals though — really makes sense.
Me either. I discovered this by accident. But now that I have, it is virtually impossible to go back to playing without heels.

I think we all experience this at some point, me included. There are definitely times when I forget that I am wearing heels until someone else mentions something to me.

I am the opposite of most. I have been wearing glasses pretty much since day 1. And it always looks weird when I see myself without them.

Today I scored a thrift store nude two fer. The first pair is Aldo. The heel measures 4 and a 1/2 inches. They have some discoloration in spots, but still very usable. They have a finish on them that I haven't seen before. It is a combination of flat, suede, and patent all at the same time. And in certain lighting, they almost look like a two tone nude. The second pair is from Jessica Simpson. They are open toed with a bow like detailing across the toes. The heel measures 4 and a 1/2 inches.

Stilettos are a rarity everywhere these days.
Any kind of heels for that matter. Women are dressing for comfort these days, even their clothes. All you see around here is usually leggings paired with boots or shoes without a heel, or something along those lines in the winter. And in the spring and summer, all you usually see is shorts and flip flops.

I have always gone on the shorter side of things simply because my legs are so short. I have recently had reason to review a couple of videos of me in longer shorts, as in what men traditionally wear, and they are not flattering on me.

I’ve got legs that look good in stilettos - if one was to see a photo of just my legs, in skinny jeans and boots, one would assume, from the presence of heels, that the photo was of a woman’s lower half and think nothing of it.
Same here. I've been told many times, especially in shorts, that I have legs most women would be jealous of.

Here are my thoughts on the question based on my own personal journey. When I first started my journey into high heels, "I" was definitely more aware of "them." I think it has to do with the fact that when I first started venturing out in heels, I was purposely aware of my surroundings. I wanted to see the onlookers and the people that were noticing my heels. And I was trying to get compliments on my outfit or the high heels I chose to wear that day. These days, "I" am definitely less aware of "them." And it is mostly due to a lack of trying like before. I still enjoy it when people notice what I'm wearing. And I still enjoy when I get compliments on my outfit or the high heels I'm wearing, but I'm just not specifically seeking them out like I use to.

I had an interesting encounter today. Now let me start by saying I was not on a planned outing today. And I was not dressed in any form of female attire, including heels. Today, we had some unseasonably warm weather for September. So I was dressed in shorts, T-shirt, and sandals, very casual.
I was out just running a few errands and hitting some of my favorite stores for some window shopping. I was at one of my usual thrift stores that I hit. And that's where the encounter happened.
I usually don't have much luck there. But today, I actually found something worth purchasing. As the lady was ringing up my purchase, she said, "i'm surprised you actually found something today. Usually, you come in here, and you don't buy anything." Then she said, "And I barely recognized you today. You're usually in tight jeans and heels. You're dressed so casual today." I told her the weather was really nice today. And she said, "Yeah, we need to enjoy it while we can." Then I finished paying for my purchase and left.
Now I have seen her in the store before, and she may have even rang me up a time or two. But as far as I can remember, this is the first time we have had any meaningful interaction. So as much as we say on here that most people don't seem to care or take notice of us. In some cases, I guess the opposite is true. Food for thought.
