I wore my capri leggings to the nail salon today for a mani / pedi. You guys got off track with skinny jeans. Skinny jeans are not leggings. I wore my leggings  a patriotic pair in black with red, white and blue stars on them with my white Worthington (Penny's) slides open toe in white. Got a few compliments at the nail salon on both my leggings and heels. Incidentally I got my bright red color on my toes and clear gel over a light pink polish on my hands. On my little pinkies I got art deco for the 4th of July. Both with a white base, left pinkie with a American Flag and right pinkie with exploding fire works in red and blue. Very colorful . Already had a nice compliment on my mani from my friend, the checkout gal in Walmart, who knows that I wear heels, leggings and color on my toes and hands.

This time of year it's all capri leggings for me. Ankle length leggings for early spring or fall. When you wear capri leggings you really show off your heels!

I found some hiking tights that I really like. They are designed for men, and have functional pockets on the sides.

Was in Walmart recently. Great clearance sale on leggings. Bought several pairs. Some capri length, some ankle length and some bike short length.

On Thursday, after getting my mani done incidentally I got my clear gel on fingers with my little pinkies , left one royal blue base with white flowers and my right one with a white base and royal blue flowers. I did get compliments when I attended my grand-daughters wedding later that day.

What happened after the mani is what I'm addressing in here . There is a new boutique that opened up recently next to my nail salon. When I walked past I caught something on the manikin in the window that I liked. It was a pair of red, white and blue leggings in a camo design. I went in and the owner of the shop, who I found out later, came out from the back to offer her help. I told her that I liked the leggings in the window. I was already wearing capri leggings with heeled sandal slides. She was very cordial to me and was very helpful. I told her my size and she asked me if I wanted to try them on and I said yes. I went to the changing room in back and put them on. I liked my look in the mirror and walked back out . She said that the leggings looked great on me and with my white polo shirt and white sandals were a perfect match. She noticed my mani and my red pedi and asked if I go to the nail salon next door. Of course I said yes. She too goes there for her mani's and pedi's. She asked me what do I think about the leggings. I said I want them, so we proceeded to the check-out. At that point she asked me if she could show me anything else. She said we're having a sale on accessories and showed me some items. She was very helpful. I looked but declined. I asked her about heels, she said what size, I said 11. She said we only carry up to size 9 but can order some styles in a size 10 and 11. I said that was great to know.

I can't get over how helpful she was helping me, a guy in a women's boutique, After I paid for my purchase she said stop in again and I replied I certainly will. It was a great day getting my mani and shopping at the new boutique.

Bluejay....   Very nice story.  I had a similar experience at a Torrid store last week.  Many folks realize that guys too can look nice (pretty?) in gals "stuff."

Every time I wear my sherpa I have both men and women asked where I got it because they want one too. Clothes, like shoes, have no gender, that's a label people apply.

I think more men would wear leggings if they had footballs, basketballs, etc. on them

Technically I should not answer this because the question is “who wears leggings with their high heels”? I came to this site because my wife LOVES high heels and I love that she wears them, but myself I don’t wear high heels. However, that is not the case with leggings. I wear them A LOT!

 

About 10 years ago I learned that leggings under my jeans was much warmer since I work outside even in the winter. Long Johns made my itchy, and sweatpants under my jeans was too bulky, but leggings fit tight, but are not itchy, and are very warm.

 

Since then I learned what most women learned a long time ago… they are super comfortable. Because of that I lounge in them at home now. In fact, as I write this I have a pair of leggings on. But I might also mow the lawn with them on, or run to the store with leggings on even though I am a little self-conscious about them at times. Having a wife and daughters, they have long learned that after work it is "soft pants time" and leggings is just what I wear around the house.

 

Overall, I like the soft cotton type that are known as "inside leggings", and not the more nylon or spandix ones because those are too hot under my jeans. I find the kind I like at the Dollar Stores we have here, and while they are “womens”, they fit me well and are about $5 which is also nice. I have about a dozen pairs because I wear them 100% of the time from October to April, and lounge at home in them year around.

As I have said in the past I love to wear leggings with my heels. Ankle length in the colder months and capri length in the warmer months. I will not hide them under pants at all, as I love wearing leggings, with my heels boots or shoes.

My leggings have replaced my sweatpants when I not working in my garden. And I wear them to run errands/ go to costco, etc. I especially love my Ultra-Luxe Velour Leggings from Felina. And I'm seeing more men in leggings all the time.

You can now buy mens sizes, called Unisex Leggings, but for me leggings are hit and miss.

It is not just size. As I said before I do not like the nylon-type kind, and kind of have to feel them to get the cotton ones I want. My daughters said I like "inside leggings", but even that moniker is hit or miss.

I was at the store the other day getting pantyhose with my wife, and I i noticed in that section there was a lot of "leggings" as they were labeled, but they sure looked like black pantyhose to me. Very, very sheer. But then the ones in the women's section are more nylon than cotton. At the dollar stores they tend to be cotton like, but not always. It is frustrating because about 50% of the leggings I get, I never wear because they are not the type I like. I even try reordering the ones I do like by Brand Name and Product Name but most times the brand is no longer being made.

As for the unisex designation; it's about time. These things are super comfy. No reason for the ladies to have them all to themselves.

I will, though she is an extra-introvert if there ever is such a thing. Very shy...

That being said, I was on here a long time ago, I think. I say that because it was a high heels forum that I belonged too, but the atmosphere was a bit different then. Not better. Not worse. Just different.

I could not remember my username or password so I started fresh so nothing nefarious on my end of things on that. It would have been back in 2005-2011ish. If this site did not exist then, it might have been a different high heels site. But no matter, I am here now and hope to contribute in a meaningful way.
