whynotheels
With spring and summer coming, I'm eager to get into my denim mini skirt, hose and t-shirts. What shoe goes best? I would like a closed toe pump, but is that too dressy? And don't say flip-flops --yuck.
ShockQueen
Hose and round-toe pumps would look very cool this year, IMHO. SQ.....still busting societal molds with a smile...and a 50-ton sledge!

whynotheels
Dr Shoe: no Army boots, but how about cowboy boots? I wore cowboy boots with a long skirt over the weekend and thought it worked quite nice.

whynotheels
Dr Shoe: they have 1 3/4" heels. Nothing high by any means, just traditional cowboy boots. On a side note: does anyone know of a good skirts and heels site?
BoyLegs
What about mary janes?
denisegurl2
Those Mary Janes would be perfect! Nice choice. I also agree with SQ on the round toe pumps, another fav! Also, you might want to try leggings, they are very hot now!
luvmaryjanes
Whether flats or heels make it a pointed toes please! Those maryjanes that Boylegs posted are too cool! I have them in 3" & 4" heel.
HappyinHeels
WhynotHeels-- Go to bakersshoes.com and look up the "Denim Eryn" which is a denim peep-toe pum with a 5.5" stiletto heel that would look incredibly sexy with a denim skirt. A cork-covered wedge heel or an espadrille wedge heel should also look cool with your denim skirt. I actually happened to score some denim wedges at my friend's store in Chicago two years ago which is a perfect match for a denim skirt! HappyinHeels
WhynotHeels, Here's the link I should've included so you can see the shoe I'm talking about; http://www.bakersshoes.com/product.aspx?c=318&p=145616. Now, just imagine you're out in your denim skirt and you step outside in your denim pumps as the sunlight hits your freshly-polished toes--now you're talking spring-time! These shoes are now at the lowest price I've seen them this year. Good luck shopping and matching. HappyinHeels
pussyinboots
I usually wear stiletto clog mules, strappy sandals or cowgirl boots with denim mini-skirts. (BTW - those denim 'peep-toes' from Bakers are gorgeous). whynotheels
HappyInHeels: thanks for the link. Those are nice heels, however, I wear a women's size 15. BoyLegs: Those are the nicest MaryJanes I've seen. Is there any chance you could tell me wear to get a pair in size 15?
Dawn HH
These are all very nice choices that you guys posted. I think that those Mary-Janes would be perfect with a denim mini-skirt, but I can also see them with the mini-skirt and denim leggings. I think that both choices would look good on anyone, male or female. Cheers--- Dawn HH High Heeled Boots Forever!

barbara
If its nice weather I like to wear any heels that are open like strappy sandals and slides with denim skirts.
whynotheels
Regen: I'm 6 foot 4 and 5/8" call it 6'5". Due to my height, I like to keep the heels around 3" which limits the selection even more. Barbara: thanks for the input. What do people think about these (drum roll please while I try to attach a picture)...

whynotheels
Shrimper: no thanks. I love hose way to much to skip them. If I was doing flats, I'd just go with running shoes. No reason, just the way I am. Now ballet heels... that would be COOL. Perhaps I should suggest it to me wife --ha ha.

kikepa
Army boots? Ha-ha.. You're too funny! Whenever I wear skirts around the house, they're longer, as in below the knee. I sometimes wear them with my hiking boots, which are quite comfortable. If not, I'll usually have on a pair of hh sandals or boots. I usually only wear pumps with long pants. 4 ever heels
Definitely, shoes/heels with a miniskirt, very feminine and makes the experience of wearing heels a whole lot more sexier. Because you don't wear a miniskirt with mens dress shoes to me they just don't match and you don't feel as sexy and feminine.
roniheels
How about a pair of blue thigh boots with five inch stiletto high heels? Here we go!
Foxyheels
For me a mini skirt has to be worn with a heel of at least 5'' to make it suitably 'tarty' making the overall outfit super sexy. High heels are the shoes I choose to put on, respect my choice as I repect yours.

Coming back to the OP, there is an art to dressing for Summer, and it's worth remembering the 'do's' and 'dont's' that apply to heels/clothes. If you want to be looked at - but not stared at - then with a mini-skirt in Summer, it is definitely Summer heels too. So, mules or strappy sandals, flip-flops or flatties. Dark boots, pumps and Mary-Jane's are definite 'no no's' and will gurantee that you're looked at for all the wrong reasons - especially if you're a guy in high heels. If you want to look 'tarty', then higher heels and/or bright colours are the way - but be prepared to be stared at.....guy...or gal. pussyinboots
So would those Ellie 'Tux' mules be too much?? In Summer? In daytime? Not if you want to be offered a few hundred pounds for a couple of hours....'work'....!!! Seriously....they're night club shoes. I kinda figured that. The second link could be an option I'd go for. I did pick up a pair of high heeled platform clogs from Kohl's recently that would probably be OK. As I live in a rural woodier area, I could always get a pair of Camo mules. Maybe nobody would see them??
