It's a shame that whenever one of these guys does g this sort of thing they don't have a clue on how to walk in heels having never worn them and always wear the most difficult and goofy styles possible making the experience that much more difficult.

That is what I was about to say.  How absurd is that.  Most who have worn heels for years wouldn't attempt to walk around town in what he was wearing.  Of course your feet hurt, you moron.  How about maybe trying a pair that a typical businesswoman would wear to work.  Something a bot more typical and without the theatrics.  Quite honestly, this crap pisses me off.

  2. Nice experience hh_pe.  Would be great if my wife was accepting, but alas, no such luck.  I have worn heels to Halloween parties in the past, but that was many years ago now.  I would love to do it again!

  3. I signed up for a post office box.  That way they can be delievered whenever, and I just need to pick up the package there.  Works great for me.  Not sure if that option is available in other locations besides the US>

If i go into a Payless just to try some shoes on but come out without buying anything would I have any problems

Absolutely not - I do it all the time.  You are as welcome as anyone lese to go in and shop - there is nothing that says you have to buy anything...ever.  I have yet to find a Payless where there was a problem.  One male clerk was less than cordial but did say "do whatever you want".  That was back a while when I would ask the clerk if they had a problem with me trying stuff on.  Now I just go and do it.  Never have a problem at all.

  5. Way to go.  The thin heels for the first time out is quite commendable!  While I have been out many times in heels, I still tend to stick with chunkier styles that I hope go unnoticed.  I keep saying to myself that I will get something similar to what you have on here and give that a try, but I haven't quite been able to convince myself to do that yet.  Some day!

  6. I would say that, based on my experience trying them on in store, Cole Hahn typically are an average to very slightly larger than average fit, depending on the style.  The pair you are looking at would fit like most size 11s, but of course, with the pointed toe area, they are not going to be overly wide.

Wouldn't that depend if the "night out" is to a Rocky Horror Show or a fine restaurant?

While personally I would be hoping and praying that I could get a glimpse of those stocking tops and garter straps, the correct answer here is that for a nice dinner out and a movie, it is much more appropriate for the dress or skirt to cover the stocking tops and garters.

  8. Just thought I'd take a look at the YSL site and see if they still had the men's boots with the 3+ inch heels.  First go though, I click on shoes and all that is there are those with the 2" heel.  Just for the heck of it, I clicked on the Sale tab, and lo and behold, there were the 3" heel boots - all on sale.  Not sure if that's good of bad - good, because if you look at the stock, they are down to the last pair or two in most styles, with limited sizes left.  Maybe that means they sold very well.  Bad - does that mean they will not continue the 3" heel versions if they are selling out the last few and apparently not making more?  Would be interesting to know the direction they are heading.

  9. I have a pair of Nine West booties quite similar to those, but the heel is thicker.  Right about 4.5" on the height, and I have to say, my ankles get quite fatigued when I walk much in them.  I have worn them into a few stores, and the first time I was close to hobbling on the way out - rank amateur I guess!  I think I'd need a lot more time in heels of that height to feel comfortable in them.  Meanwhile, I think I'll dial down and stick with nothing over 4" for now!  I used to shop Nine West quite a bit.  Then they closed a couple of their outlets in my area, and the ones left rarely if ever have a size 12 in the store - very disappointing.  I think they are well used to guys in the store, as I never had a problem.

  10. TXGuy, my advice is to keep doing what you feel comfortable doing.  While I understand Thighbootguy's comments, some of us just aren't looking to be quite so obvious and would just as soon not have everyone looking.  We enjoy walking in our heels, but prefer to remain part of the scenery as such.  I have been out and about many times with my 4" heel boots, but like you, I wear them with long jeans.  I have been noticed many times, I'm sure, but being discreet is the way I prefer to go.  I have yet to try the stiletto heel style like yours, but after seeing you in them, I just might have to give it a go.  But if and when I do, they will be worn with pants that, like yours, keep things on the quiet side from a visual standpint.

  11. Interesting heels but I don't find the wrinkle in the fabric or leather at your big toes very flattering. The surface should be smooth but the wrinkles scream "I don't fit right." I urge you to consider returning them if you can.

Sorry but that's just my opinion. If I burst your balloon, I apologize.

I had the same thought, Steve.  Something looks off there - too big maybe?

  12. I would have to agree with Nine West shoes . I have several pair , high quality for the price. Jim have you thought about purchasing the same style in two different sizes . I have in the past had a left shoe loose while the right fit fine . The sales associate , made a suggestion to try two pair . I walked out with the same style in an 11W and a pair in size 12 .  I just did a quick search and the "Karmen" pump  comes in Medium and Wide .

Jim you may want to check Roman's , Lane Bryant , or Woman Within. to name a few . I have had good luck with these retailers in the past.

Wish you luck and keep looking you will find the right pair ....as Histilleto has stated.

That solution of two pair might work for me, but that gets awfully expensive!  Not so bad maybe at Payless, but Nine West would put a hurtin' in the wallet!

  13. Being from Payless, those shoes are not real leather, but rather some plastic material.  As such, they do not breathe well, and the foot tends to sweat.  Also, the plastic material tends to be less flexible than real leather and will not break in as easily.  As such, with stiffer material, more rubbing is likely to occur.  It would be great to find a place that sells true leather shoes at reasonable prices, but they are rather few and far between.  In the US, Nine West is likely about as close as you can get to that, and even there, if you buy anything that is "patent" leather, they are synthetic rather than real leather.
