So it’s amazing what one can do when motivated properly.

Since we have moved out to California, our garage has become our basement to store all of our stuff. Amongst this “stuff” is a large selection of car stuff that I’ve acquired over the years. Parts that I think I would need, or upgrades, etc. that were too good of a deal to pass up.

Since most people here in California don't have basements, the garage tends to become their basement. I my old house we parked in the garage, one of a very few who also parked in their garage on the street. But then I designed a basement into that house. Basements are under rated here in California, i have a basement designed into my next house.

    Nice shoes.

  2. I usually have a hoodie on when it cools down, and have worn a down jacket with shorts. I'm crazy enough to do it. I had my leopard print hoodie on with shorts last week.

@mlroseplant with temps here in the 90's, there has been no need for that this week. Knee high boots keep your legs warm too.  However, I work until 8:30 at night, so when it gets cold, it's even colder at night.  Those shorts above are some of my longest shorts I wear now. (I have much longer men's shorts, but I rarely wear them.) Today I have 3 inch shorts on, going kayaking before my manicure.

I don't mind long pants and have have some new items I want to start wearing, most notable my leopard print sherpa - its so soft. I'm trying to break away from the male monochrome look of shades of blues, blacks and grays.  I have been buying more colorful heels too. Looking for a purple croc pattern boots now.

  3. With temperatures in the 90's today, it's still short season here on the edge of the Pacific. So I channeled my inner Elvis and wore my blue suede knee high boots to work, with blue shorts and a blue shirt.

This outfit - shorts and boots -  is one that I stress over going out in public since it is obvious I am wearing heels. But it is also a very fun outfit to pull off. I wish I had the guts to wear this type of outfit more often than I do. I love showing my knee high boots (and my legs).

I had a middle aged black woman stop me to tell me she loved the outfit especially the boots. And in the same breath told me she loves to wear heels but can only for 2 or 3 hours- how do you do it?

  4. Congratulations @hiddenheels on a non-eventful trip. I have been flying with heels for 5 years. I usually wear at least a 4 inch heel and most of the time I have to take them off.for security. The only time I didn't wear high heels was when I went to South America and wore some booties with only 2 inch heels. You will find if you act like it is normal - everyday thing then people will react to it that way. Welcome to the  5 Mile High Heel Club.

  6. So I'm on a Fall Shopping run these last few weeks.  I bought some burgundy platformed lace up booties yesterday and went looking for tall boots today.  Tried on 4 heels, booties and knee highs, but nothing I tried fit well enough to consider.

Animal prints are now the rage in both men's and women's fashion. I saw many cheetah print items in the Men's Macy's and other men's stores will wondering around looking for boots.  I got a men's cheetah print hoodie two weeks ago and I expect to have a zebra print turtleneck delivered tomorrow. But I had seen some real cozy looking sherpa jackets on-line and wanted to try them on. After seeing so many post from  @CAT about his adventures shopping at Express and my experience with their tops ( I have many, mostly bought on-line) I went in and saw the sherpa jacket. I found my size, walked over to a mirror and tried it on. It fitted perfect and looked great. The sale associate came over and I asked her if she thought I could rock the leopard print. She said it looked really good on me and pointed out how perfect the sleeves were, the length, everything was just right. I had a "I can do that"  and put it on hold, I had to get the 40% off coupon I had at home before getting it tomorrow.

While there, I saw some vegan leather skirts, so I tried them on too. Took two sizes in and found the right size.  I (and my wallet) are glad I don't wear skirts, otherwise I would have purchase one.

Update: my new leopard print sherpa.

  7. Congratulations on your new daughter and on finding better fitting tops. What you will find is with men's there is a smaller set of types to look at.  With women's top there are endless styles. So if you look long enough you will find a top that fits and looks good.

  8. Stopped by my local boutique to see what heels they had in. No tall boots this tall enough heels .  But they did have something I could wear; so I got these

    agenda-h-burg.jpg

    They are Soda Agenda

Platform Lace up Tapered Block Heel in Nubuck: Burgundy with a 1”  platform, 4.5” heel

  9. This is so true. I just order some tops sold as women's. I plan to incorporate them into my daily wear. I wore a similar top today under my leopard hoodie, the color of the top blended well with the hoodie.

About a decade ago I had a "I can pull that off" moment and decided to give women's booties a try, only 1.5 to 2.5 inch back then. People noticed since all of a sudden I was taller. So what, they were comfortable.  I haven't bought a men's shoe of any kind since.

I had another"I can pull that off" moment about two years ago and I've had colored fingernails ever since. And I love it.

When you listen to yourself and you're comfortable in who you are, you wear what you feel like fits and looks right on you. And that's it

So listen to yourself and be  comfortable in who you are, wear what fits and looks right.
