  1. I have one pair of black ballet pumps and I really like the style, they're very comfortable and pretty. I have another 3 pairs in different colours but they don't have the little string tied as a bow at the fron so I guess technically they're not "ballet" flats without that?

Based on what my eBay searches constantly bring up I'd say otherwise. ;)

  2. When I first went to high school and began noticing girls ballet flats were the shoes of choice for these young girls. One even modeled hers for us. Since then I've always considered ballet flats to be the only flats that look both feminine and sexy on a woman. Since they seem to be back in fashion again I too went over to the Dark Side and ordered some. And again I discovered that my size in ballet flats is smaller then in high heels. Not as much as with strappy heels though. For heels I go for a size US 13 or 14, but for ballet flats my size seems to be a US 12. Oddly enough in UK sizes I'm not a 10 ( as a US 12 is usually a UK 10) but a 9. I like 'm in black, brown, gold and bronze leather mostly, with a little bow(but not a big one) on top. They're great slippers and so far the only female footwear I wear outside the house.

  3. Why take risks? It's your hard-earned money. Don't waste it. There are plenty of good, reliable, shoe shops that cater to all kinds of needs, so go where the reputation is good and where you know you'll get good service and good product.

    Steve

Well, sometimes you want something that's different. Or in a bigger size then size 11 or if you're very lucky size 12. Or a little higher then 4" without those accursed platforms. And then you suddenly no longer have that much choice with those good old reliable shoe shops, who most of them unfortunately only seem to cater to the most common denominator. In my case I can't even shop in most of those good old reliable shoe shops because they have absolutely nothing in my size to begin with. I'm sure others have their reasons as well.

In all fairness though, I've yet to experience a real rip off. Although La Piazza came close.

  4. I once ordered a pair of heels from them years ago. It took more then a year for them to deliver. Always the problem was with their factory. After a year I had completely forgotten that I had ordered from them, more or less given up. Then one day, on a whim, I sent them a reminder and soon thereafter got the shoes. Later I noticed that they were the same kind of build and design as those of Leatherworks so I guess that was their factory. Not very recent experience, but that's my experience with them.

  5. Indeed. Throughout that video Mariah Heels seems to be the only one who wears high heels and dressed with some style. When I go out, be it on a shopping day or a night out I only see girls and women shabbily dressed for comfort. Putting in an effort to look good seems to be a dying art form amongst women these days. God bless that still know how.

  6. Interesting. Although personally I wouldn't call 3" heels high heels, but that's me. Still, I'm not going to do better then them. I can't even stand on a surfboard on land. On a barely related sidenote, why do they always maximize the sound to full on these online vids? Each time I open one of them it becomes a race to look for the volume control before my ears start to bleed.

  7. I once saw this makeover program on the BBC where they had one of their newsreaders and they were instructed that because of her job they couldn't do sexy. Speaking of British television presenters, didn't the BBC local news for London have this smart dressed Indian woman who was always wearing boots and heels?

  8. Quite frankly, I have no idea who is a celebrity and who isn't. I don't consider it important in my life. Most times if somebody mentions a celebrity's name, I respond, "Who?" It doesn't actually qualify me to moderate this thread as such.

A healthy attitude. Especially in this day and age full of reality TV stars who are only famous for being famous. Let alone keeping tracks of celebs from other countries.

  9. They have a show room, where some styles are for sale.

Is this arch super enough for you?

    http://www.fabulousl...e-up-ankle-boot

I dunno. I have two pairs of fabulously fetish and one of 6ihf and they just don't feel the same. Admittedly there's an arch effect going on with FF but that might just be because they are 6 inch heels. This because Leatherworks used to make 6 inch heels as well and those also had that arch effect, even though their 5.5 inch heels didn't.

  10. What do men know/ And what do we care? It's not like we wear them for you.

I think we happen to know what looks good on a woman better then they do. We may not be able to explain it, but when we see it, we know it. Even if only for the simplest reason that you look at yourself only briefly in a mirror while we look at you all the time.

I also happen to think that the reverse is also true, that women know better then men what looks good on them.

  11. Having looked at both sites it looks like allexpress is a little cheaper and gives you all the ordering information you need in order to decide. But they offer less options as far as size and color and concerned, whereas with 7heel the sky seems to be the limit as far as customization is concerned, including custom measurements. I still wouldn't be surprised if it all came from the same factory that 6ihfl also uses.

  12. Interesting. I guess it would seem that I am not the only one then.

My theory about this is that with a sandal, you want both ends of your feet to be closer to the edge of the insole of the shoe than with a fully enclosed shoe or boot. We DEFINITELY don't want any overhang on either the toe or the heel, but we also don't want a big excess of real estate there either.

excess in the toe area has never been my problem, because of me sliding downwards. It's the inch that now sticks out behind my heel because of that slippage that looks ugly.

For this reason, I find that buying sandals is much harder than buying shoes. I don't know how many times I've had to take a pass on a pair of otherwise great-looking, comfortable sandals because when I tried them on, there was a good 3/4 of an inch between the front of my big toe and the front of the sandal. No thank you.

I wish I could go into a store and try a sandal on. A size 10 is usually the biggest that 99% of all shoe stores carry. I don't even bother going into stores any more. It's webshops exclusively for me. Unfortunately you can't try them on before you buy online.

Sounds like you have a narrow or a thin foot.

Or sweaty feet? I find that sandals that at first fit well, after some wearing and feet sweating the sweats starts to acts like a lubricant and with a smooth insole it means slipping and sliding.

  13. As I bought high heeled shoes over the years I discovered something that still surprises me to this day. I generally take a size US13 or US14 in courts or boots. A bit too large for my taste but things are as they are. No need to dwell on that which cannot be changed. However when I first bought some sandals in the same size, I noticed how I kept sliding downwards in a very unelegant way. Oddly enough this never happened in a Pleaser stripper shoe because they have different kinds of insoles that seem to be excellent in preventing slippage. Since I hate sliding downwards in sandals I began to avoid them like the proverbial plague. But I've always liked the way they looked, especially strappy sandals. So on a whim I ordered a pair that was two sizes smaller then my regular size, in the hope that the straps would be more narrow and thus prevent slippage. And it worked! Even odder was that they didn't pinch as I feared they would going with a smaller size. So now my first instinct when buying sandals is to always go 2 sizes smaller then with courts, maybe 3 when the choice is limited. Now I wonder, as I never seem to read about this, is this something that is uniquely me or did I just stumble onto a general principle that's as common as rain water?

  14. Methinks you're asking for the impossible. It sounds like you're looking for fetish heels, which 99% of all shoe stores avoid like the plague. And those shops that do sell fetish heels probably only sell the usual fare of Pleaser shoes. Superarch narrows it down even more as only online shops like Archenemys and 6inchheelsforever seem to have them. And I suspect that the former resells shoes made and sold by the latter. Methinks a unicorn is less rare then the kind of shop you seek. But if anyone knows of an actual shop that you can visit in the flesh that does sell unique 6inch non-platform heels, not made by the usual suspects like Pleaser or Ellie, then by all means please tell. This is one thing in which I'll gladly be proven wrong.

  15. You can get good quality without having to shell out that kind of money. I'd rather have 5 great pairs of boots for the same cost.

    Steve

Indeed! When you're paying a $1000 for a pair of shoes you're paying $200 to get quality, $300 to pay for their marketing and the rest to make Mr. Louboutin smile a very huge grin.

  16. Thanks for the info Chorlini.

The domina styles are also really nice. Specifically the 412.

Was contemplating that style too. But most likely will need a 14.

How would you rate the Hottie vs the dominas?

Depends on what you want. The Domina is higher and more fetishy, the Hottie is more daily wear friendly as it kinda looks designer heelish. Still clocks in over 5 1/4 inches though. I prefer the Domina because of the extra height and I got a leather like Domina knee boot that for me is still the most comfortable of all my boots. This might be a fluke though as the patent boot in the same size and type feels different. The one problem I have with the Hottie is that the heel is too far backwards. This seems to be in vogue as Louboutin also does this, but I prefer the heel of the shoe to be more underneath my own heel as well.
