    Haha, live my life mate.

I'm 2.03m tall (or 6ft7 if you're more "imperial"), and that's bare feet. I hit ceilings, door frames, traffic signs and all kind of "normal height"  stuff all the time. Think about when I'm in heels?

By the way, you look good as always.

Whoa, Nellie! I’m six foot two in my bare feet. Sure have me beat!

Thanks for the advice, I’ll take it on board, I’ll do some experimenting and if i look half as good as you do in I’ll be quite happy

It’s all about experimentation, trying different pieces of clothing and different looks to find a particular style that works best for you and makes you look your very best. And that’s the bottom line, presenting your best possible image while out in public. As someone who’s worn skirts and dresses full time with heels on my outings since 2013, I quickly came to understand the importance of looking both stylish and proper, oh, yeah, it’s great fun too! Good luck to you!

  3. Everything nz said about wearing 4 inch spike heels is spot on, it IS hard work. Even for a veteran like myself, my limit in shoes like those is no better than five hours, which is why I rarely wear them these days and find pleasure and comfort in lower heel heights.

  4. I think it’s all about the person, his desires, and how he reacts to said desires. Regarding the situation with Heeleddude, perhaps he had cooled on the boots he ordered after an initial feeling of euphoria about them and decided they weren’t for him. Another explanation would be having “evolved” beyond having to wear heels ALL the time, that was the case with me as I came to first appreciate, then love wearing flats, be they loafers and especially sandals in spring and summer. However, I’ll still break out the heels when a particular outfit calls for them, otherwise, I go with the flow and whatever shoes I think will look good on me. And if those shoes happen to be flats, hey, so much the better.

"Shower shoes" now there is a memory. The military has a way of transforming the way many once spoke. Everyday things like toilet, bathroom, and vending machine became shitter, head, and geedunk after going into the Navy. "Geedunk" for those scratching their heads is the proverbial sound the coin made as it went down into the machine and dropped into the metal box inside. If you're organised you are "squared away" which is a very good thing to be especially at sea. Bubba's right, shower shoes outside to/from the bathroom was a no-go or a no-no. Same thing. Getting used to seeing so many guys in later years wearing shower shoes gave me post traumatic sandal syndrome but I'm okay now. My therapy was wearing high heels  HappyinHeels

I was in the Navy for twenty years and remember all those terms well, along with "roach coach" for lunch wagons. Because of my time spent in the military, I would never wear flip-flops outside the house because I knew them as shower shoes. Besides, the damn things are ugly.

  6. I forget exactly when it was, but I’d say it was little over a year or so ago when I got a package from Thighbootguy (remember him?) that I hadn’t expected. It was small, so I didn’t expect much, when I opened it, I was surprised to find half a dozen pairs of clip-on earrings. Now, at the time, the only jewelry I wore when out and about on jaunts were necklaces, pendants and a string of pearls for when I dressed up, the idea of earrings were an alien concept to me, especially since I had ZERO intention of piercing my ears. However, I’ll admit to having been intrigued about clip-ons, so I decided to wear a pair on an outing to see what would happen. Right away, I had to admit I liked how they looked on me, while the earrings weren’t fancy, they were cute and made my outfit look fancier, the question would be if I’d be noticed while out and about, and, yeah, that concerned me a little.

As it turned out, I had nothing to worry about as no one paid any attention to the baubles on my ears, but then, I suppose I should’ve expected that. I would go on to wear the other pairs and liked how I looked with those as well, the more I wore earrings, the more I came to realize that I didn’t feel fully dressed without them, that quickly became part of my look as a fashion freestyler. It didn’t take long to know that a mere six pairs of earrings weren’t nearly enough, I had to have more, but clip-ons weren’t easy to find, at least not in brick and mortar stores, but online was another story altogether as I found some pretty styles, both in gold plated and silver plated at Sears and ordered nearly a dozen pairs in one sitting: hoops, teardrops, ovals, heck, I even ordered a jewelry case from Amazon to keep everything in. Just like with clothing, shoes and handbags, I went about doing all I could to make sure my earrings matched with my ensemble as they were the last thing I donned after I dressed, after all, it was important to properly accessorize, something I obsess over as looking good is an obsession with me. At present, I have nearly three dozen pairs and yet, I contemplate buying more.

Now, are earrings for everyone here on the forum? Certainly not, like with everything else, it’s all about choice and how much of a freestyler you want to be. In my case, earrings are part of my overall image, and I work hard to make that image the very best I can present to the public. And besides, like I said, earrings look good on me, and that’s all the reason I need to wear them.

Some quotes from the Paper article that could apply to anyone (motivating truths that still hold value for the straight community):

"Personally, I believe the most masculine thing a man could do is wear a dress with a pair of heels and not be afraid to embrace his inner femininity."

Sounds like me all over, and yes, I agree with that sentiment one hundred percent.

  8. Very snazzy there, Mr. X! You nailed it with that outfit! I could make something like that work (even though I don't have a purple handbag), but it's still too chilly here to go without tights. Well done, my friend!

  9. Here's the latest shoes I bought and wore on an outing today: the Walking Cradles "Minx" Mary Jane pumps in black leather with three and a half inch block heels which I ordered from Zappos. I've never owned MJ shoes and this offering intrigued me enough to order a pair, the  styling was sharp, the fit was good and comfortable, and the heels were nice and loud on the pavement.

Surprised no one has posted this article from US Vogue.com

Men In Heels? I Put the Tricky Trend to the Test

Authors conclusion "The final verdict? Men’s heels are much more of a commitment than my go-to sneakers, sure, but can give you that extra pep in your step. I found myself walking taller, and even feeling more confident along the way. Sometimes, I even strutteddown a hallway at work, as though I was Bella Hadid. (I am most definitely not.) And that change of demeanor, at least for me, is worth the aching arches and pinched toes alone."

I found the article to have been interesting, even though I had been initially blinded by those lime green boots.

Here is my latest acquisition.  They are studded candy striped t-bar slingback heels.  The brand is Wild Diva Lounge.  They look and fit great!  The only drawback is the colour.  It will be hard to pair them with things.

Whoa! Cool shoes, my friend, but definitely NOT something to wear to the local coffee shop. As for what to pair with those heels, how about a slim black, knee length skirt and perhaps a light colored top.

  12. For someone like myself who wears a size 13, losing Payless will make for quite a blow as that size isn’t found in brick and mortal stores. Between Payless and Shoes of Prey having gone belly up, my choices for footwear have decreased considerably.

Nice little boots and a really good walking heel there too, think you’ll find them really comfortable

Yes, the new boots were comfortable, even though they weren't a wide width.
