  1. Here's what I purchased from Nordstrom, the Halogen "Aster" sandals in white with 3 1/2 inch wedge heels which I broke in on an outing yesterday. Even though they were only medium width, they were pretty comfortable and easy to walk in, and they just plain looked sharp!

Some of the newer members won't remember, but many of you do remember Thighbootguy. I heard from him yesterday, and he told me to tell everyone "hi." He's doing well, still playing a lot of gigs with his guitar, has taken up the cello, and is still of course wearing thigh boots pretty much all the time.

Good to hear he's doing okay. TBG introduced me to the joy of thigh boots and earrings, the latter now a permanent part of my look as a fashion freestyler.

Wore my tan SM Manners with shorts to all day all-hands meeting. The woman who sat next to me wanted to try on my heels. Turns out she was a size 10 too, but we didn't exchange shoes.

Then while walking to a sub-meeting another woman stopped me to compliment me on my heels; told me she wore heels for over 20 years but can't presently wear them because of foot pains, I really walk like it was nothing. I thanked her.

Sounds awesome. I learned a long time ago that if women like something they see, they’ll compliment you. I’ve had women, young and old say nice things about my skirts, dresses, shoes, handbags, even my earrings. That ALWAYS feels good.

Here is my latest purchase.  I found these in a thrift store for $10.  They are floral pumps with a just over 4" heel.  And the brand is Christian Siriano for payless.  The only problem is I have no idea what to wear outfit wise with floral heels.  If anyone has any suggestions I am all ears.

Cute shoes! As for what to wear with them, I’d go with a pink top with a black pencil skirt or black skinny jeans. Whichever way you go, you absolutely can NOT hide those shoes! That would be criminal!

If you are going to wear heels to work in the summer why hide them. Shorts and wedges today.

I was going to a coffee shop at work and two women passed me and told me that my shoes must be hard to walk in. I respond that they weren't, really very comfortable. As I walked in a woman behind me, also in high heels said to me, some people just can walk in heels and we laughed.

I find it humorous when women see men wearing heels and ask/comment on how we manage to walk in them. Sure, I’ve been asked that question, and my response is a simple one....PRACTICE.

Thanks!  They are my faves too!  Now I just need to put an outfit together so I can show them off!

Perhaps a green jacket, black top and black skinny jeans for contrast.

Thanks, I need to come up with some outfits to dress down the pumps. Pumps are my favorite style for sure. The outfit I am wearing with the booties would probably work with the red pumps, but I need to find something different. 99% I'm a shirt untucked kinda guy, so the formal styles are me trying something new.

Experimenting with different sorts and styles of outfits if How we expand our horizons when it comes to fashion, and, it’s a whole lot of fun! Keep on keeping on!

Went up to our land in far northern Wisconsin and stopped at Nordstrom Rack on the way and bought these! Clearance price of course. Just basic cognac coloured wedge sandals with a 5"/12 cm heel. They're branded "14th and Union" which I have never bought before. I wore them the rest of the trip. I also wore them on the way home. Very cumfy indeed.  HinH

Oh, my! Those shoes do look nice! Well done!

Maybe so, but just in case, I need to make sure it never happens again! I have a reputation to uphold, after all.

Actually, I purposefully chose to wear flats and "normal" clothes to a city council meeting last week to make a case about some zoning issues in our neighborhood. My neighbors know me, but I didn't want to take the chance of prejudicing our issue with council members who don't know me.

Well, I’d say you made the right decision.

  10. I had thought about trying heels like those while Payless was still in business, however, I never pulled the trigger on a purchase after reading comments about the difficulty about walking in such shoes. I have no regrets about not buying them.
