  1. Pandemic is over, killed those who couldn't survive now it's basically a cold. Get back to office and socialize. I've had covid as many times as the vacation, 3. It's really time to move on.

  2. Yes and no - I agree that we've all had enough of hearing about it, wearing masks, being housebound and thniking about contagion all the time, and indeed to many people that's all covid ever was - not much more than a cold. I've had it once - catching it last June despite being triple-vaccinated. I'd love nothing better than to move on, and in many ways I have, but I'm still suffering the lingering after effects of this thing. It is much better than three months ago, but still... As for getting back to the office, one of the positive outcomes from the pandemic is the way it showed that working from home is a viable option for many people and companies. It is good on so many fronts. Many jobs simply do not require a commute to the office, and many workers, having discovered this, are not going to want a return to the old status quo. Why should they? On the heels front - I like the boots!

  3. I've only been on-site for less than 40 days since the start of the pandemic. Today was one of those days. I will be back on site less than 30 days till June. Lunch meeting heels. These Jessica Simson boots are so comfortable.

  4. Here is my latest. I got these for about 10 bucks in a second hand store if I recall. The brand is modern rush and they have a 4.5" heel

  6. Wasn't my point. My point is, since it is a corona virus it's highly susceptible to mutations and as such we'll just have to learn how to live with it. We can't crawl into a hole every time it peaks. There likely not be a cure in our life times. The reality is, the fatality rates are way down from 2020 and not likely to return to those levels even though infection rates will continue.

  8. I can appreciate those who like collecting things for the sake of collecting them, but I really hate to possess too many of these items if I'm not going to actually use them, especially since my excess is not necessarily limited to shoes. I do not get much pleasure or satisfaction from simply having 100 pairs of shoes, but I do get those feelings from actually wearing them, and more specifically, wearing them out and walking in them. Believe it or not, I really don't wear heels around the house--well, I do, but they're mainly mid-heels, and the biggest criterion for a good house shoe is to be able to slip it on or off hands free. Typically, if you can do that, it doesn't make for a good walking shoe. On a positive note, I did wear some stiletto ankle boots that I haven't worn in several years to choir rehearsal last night! Another curious thing about me is that in the past when I have bought doubles or triples of a shoe model that I think I really, really like, not long after said purchase, I've lost interest in them. Not always, but it has happened several times when I've bought them in two or more colors. One of these days, I should make a list of all the shoes I've gotten rid of over the years and the reasons why. It won't be a complete list, but it will be in the neighborhood of 80% complete.

  9. There is way more to it than just work. Agreed, many can work from home, however there is a significant social disconnect as a result. The western society will collapse without it eventually as people won't be able to handle face to face communication or even more importantly confrontation because of the loss of direct contact. As far as covid, the antibodies built up once infected are better than the vaccine. Not saying the vaccine didn't help, my symptoms were never severe, I haven't boosted in nearly 1.5 yrs. Got it twice since. First time 3 weeks after my 3rd shot. Getting it every 6 to 9 months is about the same as getting boosted. The antibodies are present either way. The virus is after all a corona virus, so is the common cold. It mutates too fast and often to ever be cured, so like the cold we just need to deal with it. The average human life span just took a 2yr drop. Such is life.

  10. Heelers : OK let's get straight here. There is NO such thing as to many pairs of high heels. I now have 120 pair of high heels with 5" heels or higher. On 1-22-2023 Sunday I ordered a pair of pumps=court shoes, in nude color. As the saying goes " If the shoe fits buy them in every color" so I did. Mike
