For me, I think it is a matter of my more conservative fashion tastes. I tend to lean towards smaller heel heights, solid colors, simple cuts and lines for the office while steering clear of what is trendy. I think we could all agree that there is clothing that is unsuitable for work such as a cocktail dress, jeans with more holes than actual fabric, workout gear, just to name identify a few of the far too many examples of such. Likewise, I think that, when it comes to heels, there is a height where the line between professional and "to be used elsewhere" is reached, but where that may be is certainly subject for debate. For me, personally speaking, that is ~3" to 3.5" exposed, ~4" covered by pants, total height even if there should be a platform involved. I also think one has to look at the color/style/print/material of the shoe to determine if it is office worthy. I love animal print heels, for example, but to keep them appropriate for an office environment, 3" max height is my limit. Any height above that starts to push them into "club wear." This, in turn, give rise to the question of "Classy or trashy?" I do not know if there is a bright and agreeable line that separates the two but there is one that does exist.

There is always a place for used heels.

anyone every find a decent pair of heels at 2nd hand thrift store or a pair you wanted and found there if so.which were they and such found quite a few already.lucky most fit,still on the hunt i been wanting for a few years now but no luck.even looking on some sale sites,always size to small in my case though but the hunt makes me want them more but ill explain later about a pair i just got today been seeing these last few weeks in thrift store,there really nice,but little size smaller then normally so been passing them by,other day i was gonna get them but was walking around store and seen a lady pick them up and put in the cart,so was like damn but least she was pretty good looking so went back up today to see if they had anything new and i seen these back on the shelve so so must of put down so at that point i had to get them then and surprising they fit also.

Well, needless to say, my vast collection of boots and sneaks is a sore point in our relationship. Getting ready to retire and want to move, downsize, cut costs. I guess it is only right that I go through my collection and donate/discard pairs I am not longer interested in or that are worn out. Will try one container at a time, next week...

Over here banks used to be everywhere, even the smallest village had a bank office. Now they're all gone. Like I said, I live in the 8th biggest city of the Netherlands, there's just 1 small one office left of my bank. There were 4 or 5 offices 20 years ago with 1 giant regional headoffice, then we went to just that 1 regional headoffice somewhere in the 00's, and they downsized even that one a few years ago. Now there's only 3 offices of that bank left in the entire province. Everything is done online. I reckon only digitally illiterate seniors still go to a bank. Or people who need a big loan or mortgage. My late grandmother was digitally illiterate and she lived in a tiny hamlet till not that long ago. And having to adjust her regular payments was a major logistical exercise finding the people who could take her to a bank office halfway across the province she lived in..

As a representative for a group, I have been attending (many) meetings in the downtown business district. Been seeing alot more tall stilletos.

I had about 10 pairs wear out (synthetic materials+ time) in the last year and I haven't been able to find decent replacements, so my total of heels have dropped. I have also designated 5 pairs to 'find new homes for' or adoption pile. But I have too many pairs still. Can't wear them often enough.

My wife loved that style although she preferred higher, thinner heels. Both of my daughters still do, as do my granddaughters. Chunky two inch heels appropriate for almost any “more dressy” occasion. I always thought they were more feminine looking for me to wear.

Having another look at this topic, I can see where the leopard print pumps would be unsuitable for work, but the loafers? They look like they were MADE for work. I don't see what's wrong with those.

I thought I had been such a good boy and gotten rid of 2 pair last week. One because they flat-out don't fit, and the other because they are flat-out ugly. And they stink. However, I've gotten 2 more pairs in the meantime. So I'm not such a good boy. Hopefully, this will at least slightly lower the percentage of shoes that I don't wear. I think I'm down into the single digits of shoes that I don't wear out of 106.

I've always liked that single strap with the closed heel style. I've thought about getting a similar pair many times.

I have most definitely bought heels that I will never wear out. I think I am just as much a collector as I am a wearer.

I think I threw out 2 dozen pairs earlier this year in a clean up. And I probably STILL have too many.

All my heels are home wear only. For me it is fetish stuff mostly, I don't have any desire to wear them daily.

Here are my latest. I got these on a local buy and sell for $15. The owner said they were only worn once, and their appearance would indicate so. The brand is Le Chateau, and the heel is 4 inches. 4 inch heels are very easy for me to navigate. The heel is definitely wider and chunkier than they looked like in the photo. Not as crazy about that, but not a deal breaker either. But that, combined with the heel height, makes them that much more comfortable and easier to walk in. And they are perfect for spring and summer. I can see these being the base of many an outfit for me upcoming.

I agree with Bubba, the red polish to your toes would add a great touch. That's my favorite color for my toes. Happy Heeling, bluejay

Slightly feminine looking. Neutral color. Nicely proportioned. A light red toenail polish would add an interesting accent. As they say in the South: “Good on ya!” Wear them with confidence.

Today's feature has a bit of a strange story. I bought these BCBGirls mules (model name unknown) to replace some Jessica Simpson mules which had catastrophically failed. I wore the JS mules just about everywhere that summer of 2017, including on a road trip throughout the Midwest and into the Deep South. I was very sad when they broke, and I could not find a suitable replacement pair. What I did find is this BCBG pair, and I was very high on that brand at the time. I still like it, and the shoes tend to fit me well, but as it turns out the shoes are not as bulletproof as I made them out to be at the time. As this point, you're probably asking yourself, "Where is this rather long-winded setup going?" It is going nowhere. That's it. That's the end of the story. I got my BCBG mules in the mail, looked at them, tried them on, and put them away. For nearly seven years. I'm not sure why. I decided to pull them out last Saturday and wear them to go grocery shopping, just to see if there was some reason why I'd never worn them. There wasn't. I then wore them to church the next day. The question is, why did I never wear these even one time in seven years? I'm not 100% sure. It may be that they are slightly dressier than the shoes they were intended to replace, and they are mainly ivory instead of tan, which may have made a difference to me back then. It may be because they are snakeskin print, which I still don't like as well as smooth leather. I will never really know, but I am now presenting these as New Sandals. The numbers: 4 5/8" heel, 7/16" wide, putting it toward the bigger end of the stiletto range, and a 3/4" platform, for an effective heel height of 3 7/8", which is well within my heel wearing capabilities. The heel and platform are molded as one unit, and I fully expect that to break one of these days. I noticed a little bit of a hot spot forming behind my right big toenail, but that spot has been somewhat of a problem for me since I was in my early 20s. I think it's me, and not the shoe. Typically I can put a Bandaid around that toe so that it doesn't really show, and I'm good to go. In fact, I now have a list that reminds me what comfort or fitting aids I need to wear with which shoes. It's come to that, I guess.
