Pleaser Shoes has discontinued the white ankle boots with the interchangeable locking cuff, faux chain that the had designated as Pleaser Seduce 1014's although at last I heard they were still available in black and red...okay, fair enough... ..but I have learned that they have discontinued the Domina 420 style in white (the white in patent is still available but the non-patent 420's-white- are no longer available). That is the six inch pump that I consider the flagship style of the line... ..can anyone suggest what might be happening with them... JSpikeheels Jim

There are a number of reasons a retail seller will curtail offering merchandise. End of season. end of manufacturing run, changes in style and fashion, etc, etc, etc .

Over the years, I've discovered that most companies that sell their own "brand" of merchandise purchases their stock from unknown (to the customer) footwear manufacturers that, as a final step in the building process, will sew or "put" the store brand or style name on the shoes and ship them to the retail company.

There are quite a large number of these manufacturing sites scattered over the world, including Spain, Italy, and Brazil....China seems to lead the industry at the moment. From time to time, as stock of specific styles and models decreases to "reorder point," new contracts between the manufacturer and the retail comapny need to be "renegotiated." And, when the two sides fail to arrive at a satisfactory price for the new stock, the retailer will approach other footwear manufacturers to see if they can't purchase a similar model or style at a more agreeable price.

Long time heel wearers here may be familiar with the Leslie Shoe Co. (aka Sexy Shoes) and perhaps will remember one of their models, style 7115. A popular pump (court style) with 5½" stiletto heels that came in various colors. (with kinda of a scolluped side. ) This model was discontinued after several years and taken out of their inventory. After a period of time, the exact same style reappeared in their lineup with a style number 7114. It remains there today. Thus, the 7114 (http://www.sexyshoes.com/images/PRODUCT/medium/569.jpg ) is still available, albeit appearing to be in "closeout" sale.

Perhaps Pleasure is undergoing similar replenishment procedure or even a major product realignment? I guess we'll have to wait a few months and see.

Being mentally comfortable in your own mind is the key to wearing heels in public.

I have heard from funkypair (www.funkypair.com) that Pleaser is re-making a lot of their models for better fitting. I guess this is what Pleaser have told their retailers because it seem like a lot of them are out of stock at the moment. Maybe/hopefully the full range of models will return shortly as I want to order some pumps/boots when they are back in stock.

I have a pair of thighhigh boots from Pleaser that fit as good or better that many of my other pairs of high heels. I hope they are not reducing their lines significantly.

I wish they would scrap the entire company. Cheap nasty 'sex industry' heels the lot of 'em! Most of them are bad copies of originally decent designer or high end quality fetish heels.

I have noticed that good shops that used to carry some great shoes have switched to Pleaser shoes and sell them for the same price as the proper shoes they used to stock.

Before I get screams of 'But I can only fit my size 12 feet into Pleasers' have a look at Leatherworks. Pay the price and get some quality on your feet.

Give them a go. The quality is fantastic. They have great arch support and you also know that you are paying craftsmen for their work instead of a dodgy copycat company making Chinese knockoffs.

.....Before I get screams of 'But I can only fit my size 17 feet into Pleasers' have a look at Leatherworks. Pay the price and get some quality on your feet.

I will not scream here but although Leatherworks looks rather good and will probably also have better quality, they do cost almost 10 times as what you pay for Pleaser's shoes. I don't own any shoes from Leatherworks but have bought other "quality" shoes in Sweden for about the same prices as Leatherwork. And they do last longer, and have better quality, but if your aim is wear them around your house, or to an occational party or two, there isn't much that beats Pleaser's / Ellie's shoes.

You should also consider that a lot of people are byuing online, and without having the possibiilty to try them on, a pair for £10-12 is worth taking a chance on.

But I agree with you, you normally get what you pay for. And when saying this I also should say that I have Pleaser boots (£25) that have lasted many miles of walking, and some "quality" boots (appr £180-190) where the heel got flimsy after just some hours of walking. And the cobbler couldn't fix them to my satisfaction.

It's a shame that cost is often the only factor. Save up and treat yourself to some real leather shoes that last forever. £80 is pretty cheap compared to equipment for other 'hobbies'. I'm not mindlessly bashing Pleaser... it's just from personal experience they make nasty PU shoes. I bought a pair and immediately sold them on ebay. Buy cheap, buy twice.

To each his own, but when you have to justify a spend on a luxury (heels are not a necessity according to my wife) and it's the difference between wishing, and buying then pleaser gets my money.

He was so narrow minded he could see through a keyhole with both eyes.

Pleaser makes a "leather style upper/manmade soles" alongside the poly or "man-made" version in the Seduce 420 style line that I will put up next to anything you can suggest... to be a little more specific it's the six inch heel style Domina line that seems to be disappearing... JSpikeheels

100 years as a sheep. Blah, blah, blah. It's like the BMW/Mercedes versus Kia argument. All will get you from A to B. But over a lifetime of ownership I know what I'd feel the best from owning.

No I just get bored talking to a crowd of people who just don't care (or know).

Sorry to disappoint you but I, and a lot of others here too I think, both care, and know, in this matter.

But anyway, you will all not see me here for the next week as I'll be out of the country for work, so no more arguments from me.

While I haven't had the money to buy "quality" items as Benno posted (Thanks for the link, Benno), I have been "pleased" with pleasers so far. They seem to make a "true" size 10 which fits me all the time, meaning less worries about buying on-line (or off of other HHPlace friends!). I know, even with different styles, I'll get a shoe that fits. As for the arch supports and quality of Pleasers? Well, They feel better than other "market" brands (again, I don't make much money), and for reasonable costs. If I ever get back to the UK, shopping for shoes will be a must (as will, hopefully, be wearing them). I will certainly check out the link carefully, as in first glance, the Leatherworks look very nice. But at near $200 per pair, I'd rather be in the UK trying them on than to "hope" they fit..LOL Hope Pleaser isn't thinning selection.

I spend most of the money I earn on shoes and but anything from Pleaser and Ellie to Louboutin, Jimmy Choo and YSL and anything in between. I agree you get what you buy for, my Louboutins are just off the scale in terms of quality but I think Pleasers are fine for what they are - cheap and cheerful shoes. I would never wear them out to impress someone but I don't think there's anything wrong with them for the price you pay. If we're using car analagies then my boss used to have a Mercedes and I used to have a Peugeot 106 (a cheap French car). My 106 lasted and lasted and never let me down, while his car broke down regularly and was unreliable. It was better built, but for what I wanted at the time my little cheap car was more than up to the job. Sorry if I am in this "crowd of people" who doesn't know/care, it's just my opinion

Peugeot 106s are super little cars.

The Pleasers of the automotive world. Cheap and cheerful.

The Peugeot 106 is a car that helped to set a trend for pefectly designed, nice to look at, functional small cars that are fun to drive, economical to buy and run and won't fall apart too quickly. Plus the company has great heritage and made one of THE seminal, automotive icons of the 80s, the Peugeot 205. The small cars they make are most importantly classless i.e they appeal to everyone. By contrast Pleaser are a company that saw a market for cheap mass produced shoes that steal other companies designs and churn then out with little regard to the actual shape of the product in the hope that the general public are stupid enough to not know the difference. I will give Pleaser credit for creating the thick soled, often transparent monsters that seem to adorn the feet of every stripper, tranny, porn actress or wannabee Pammy. That however is not something I would be that proud of.

I would say, then, that Pleaser shoes can be responsible for letting people who don't have 120 quid burning in their pocket to enjoy everything from fetish shoes to good looking (regardless of being knock-offs) shoes. While Peugeot is different in not knocking off other's designs (which would be tougher in the auto industry), it is almost the same in bringing sweet cars to people who can now afford them. I don't know, maybe I haven't worn "quality" on my feet yet. But, Pleaser makes shoes that fit me, feel good, are affordable, and tickle my fancy. Benno, next time I am in the UK, will you take me shopping?

I think everybody has to buy and wear (or drive) what fits the feet and pocket as well. Pleaser is a brand that carries large sizes and I appreciate them just for making nice shoes in my size available in a good price. I had a pair of pumps that lasted for several years and were thrown out just because I wanted to hide them from my new girlfriend and that time. About Peugeot, well, I have a small 206 that is brave enough to the terrible streets of Sao Paulo and the maintenance cost is very low. Oh yes, it runs ethanol AND gasoline (we call it flexfuel around here) and no Mercedes does it for me

When you have size 43 feet, and are into heels of 5 inches plus, Pleaser cannot be beaten, IMHO. I have had numerous pairs, replaced the low quality plastic heel tips with metal ones, and they have served me very well! And I *have* paid a lot for high shoes in the past, to be horribly disappointed with unstable heels....which my Pleasers have never had any trouble with!

Also, keep in mind with some who live over on the US side, any price you see in pounds is doubled with dollars as 1 pound = 2 dollars right about now. Makes those Leatherworks shoes just that much farther out of reach of some of us, sadly.

SQ.....still busting societal molds with a smile...and a 50-ton sledge!
