What better way to settle this issue then here on the high heel community discussion forum.

I have many guy friends who I talked to about this.....and u know how some guys are.(wink wink blush blush) But one of them said that if the shoe on top is clear then its ok....but if the bottom of the shoe is clear then its "stripper pole" material...and he always flirts around and asks me if I would be wearing any of these "clear" shoes for him...he likes to tease me alot:nervous:

but i always thought does clear mean a bad hing..Like I always liked clear..I thought it looks pretty because ur skin shows through and stuff paired with a nice color nailpolish(HOT).....

I had a pair of clear, lavender glitter plastic heels from Miss Selfridge when I was 12, and they turned me against clear shoes for life because they were the most uncomfortable thing I had ever worn (although not my first pair of heels), so rather than tarty, clear shoes feel childish to me, although I'm probably not widely supported in that. I'm not really one for strappy shoes or sandals, I like having the majority of my foot covered (a peep-toe is probably as revealing as I'd go, personally), although I don't think they're particularly tarty on other people. Clear heels/platform on the other hand, are definately moving into stripper territory! Having said that, I really want a pair of the 'Tip Jar' hells, just to see how people would react on a night out!

loool I dunno about the tip jar or the ones filled with flowers pearls...Im not down with that type of stuff..... :w00t2: i think its more of a "personal taste"...some people prefer slide ons/mules, strappy sandals, boots, pumps....some like a lil of everything. THATS ME :santa_hat:

I does not matter what part is plastic, clear shoes all look cheap and nasty.

Don't know about nasty, but cheap, definitely.

A basic pump or sling in clear can be classy and sexy or trashy depending on the rest of the outfit. Anything with a platform is for strippers or drag shows and not at all sexy to me.

I'm on the opposite side of the fence.. I love em', and I don't see them as "stripper pole"...

Never frown because you never know who is falling in love with your smile.

Your guy friends are right to a degree. Like it or not, clear platforms are the heel of choice for strippers, at least in the U.S. Therefore, the connotations of this heel carry over. But, regardless, if you like them, WEAR THEM! I'd not recommend you wear them to a formal event, but out clubbing or just around your guy friends to make them envious, by all means enjoy. It may be geographical also - for some reason I feel this type of heel is more accepted in warm or beachy environments - like Miami. Any feelings there? BTW, this also carries over to the "girl only" platform=tart thread. Cheers! Brit.

thats bull...its only his personal view on the matter.

Hello, my name is Hoverfly. I’m a high heel addict…. Weeeeeeeeeee!  👠1998 to 2022!

I like the clear ones when they emphasize pretty feet. The clear plastic tops stretch to fit your feet better than man-made materials or even leather, as they tend to be thinner and more flexible. Very comfortable.

its like a recurring motif for not only this thread but can be applied to other threads too....to each their own...maybe someone's view of classy and feminine is to another TARTY (we don't really use that word in the usa, i think it can be equivalent to the term slutty) and maybe what someone views as art and beauty another sees as taboo. i mean u can debate this until death do u apart..but it comes down to personal taste. I tend to not like some specific shoes and to me i wouldnt even think of putting them on but to others its all they wear because they like it...BUT HEY...if u feel happy and they look nice on u..who am i or any other person to tell u otherwise

just like a few decades ago.. thin high heels were for 'streetwalkers' and strippers. now.. at least in the US.. strippers are the ones with the mega plats that are usually clear material. but... with the right outfit.. the right occassion.... that so called stripper shoe can be a mjor success.. just like any other combo of clothing and accessories. i'm not a major platform fan.. but some plats are very sexy. it's all about how it's worn.. with what.. and how thick the platform (to me.. the thinner the better) at anyrate.. it's ok to do you in terms of fashion.. and most times you can get away with that. yea u see girls in pageants and prom weearing them...I actually was reading cosmo magazine and they had a photo shoot with the girls in it with like 5 1/2 inch heels.... i seen woomen wear it with long dresses, indian beautiful sarees, etc. prostitutes wear pumps...does that mean every female on the planet wearing pumps is a hooker?

I think members could give their opinion (english word) if members who have got this model of shoes could show pics of their shoes... (hard to speak English lol )

I pride myself as being a traditionalist when it comes to women's shoes. To me, there's nothing more beautiful or alluring than a plain, unadorned black pump. With that in mind, clear shoes like the examples provided by LailaLily do absolutely nothing for me, I agree that such things do look cheap and tacky and fit only for the bedroom, not the street. But that's just my opinion.

I don't want to LOOK like a woman, I just want to DRESS like a woman!

Here are some clear pumps that I think are sexy and not stripper shoes.

And im a traditionalist in that men shouldnt wear women's heels but hey thats my opinion. if something is "cheap" "tacky" why would u wear them in the presence of ur husband in the bedroom??? I can understand if a person doesnt like them but insulting and rude remarks is not cool.

I have several pairs - ranging from 5" heels with 0.5" platforms - to the classic 'Clear Stripper Platform' with 6" or 6.5" heels and 1.5" platforms.

If I'm going dancing or clubbing - and I want to deliberately attract attention - I wear the higher heels with a very short, tight skirt. Alternatively - I can wear the lower heels with a longer skirt, jeans or trousers and jacket - and they look very smart, but attract little real attention.

I have these - by 'Footlights' of London - - which happen to be a favourite pair:

looove the shoes....im not a huge fan of stockings they look reallllllly fabulous on u...I think without the stockings ur legs would look better then the black stockings :santa_hat:

I like and like wearing the clear top kind. The kind with the clear toe straps or clear ankle straps. I guess it's a personal preference, and yes I have a few pair of both, but think it's pretty kewl when the top is clear and I can see my entire feet like they are just sort of 'stuck' on the heels and bottoms.

Does anyone ever Email anymore? Send me one! I like to chat!

PiB, you're the exception to all my rules, especially the one about no platforms. I don't know how you do it. It must just be a gift of yours. Still my first preference is clear pumps or sandals WITHOUT platforms.

see thru.... evryone should have one pair. The classic plat see thru aint 4 my interest, tho there some nicer more delicate ones which are wkd. This season the thing is unusual heels styles eg cutaways so there is a gd chance of looking good. Agreed also, they are uncomfortable !!

All of the pairs all of you have shown look nice and they look nice on your feet. But not for me.

As it was stated earlier, "to each their own." That is all that matters. If you like them and like wearing them, that is all that matters.

All of you have a lot of fun with these shoes!
